music Best Video Game Soundtracks

I've recently found that some of the in-game music for League of Legends is quite amazing. Usually, I don't pay much attention to it, but...wow. The Twisted Treeline's music even scales based on the situation on the map, which I think is really cool.

I know the games are considered pretty 'old', but I love the original Spyro (1, 2 and 3) soundtracks. There's a lot of variation and all tracks suit their level really well. When I was little, I sometimes just went to a level and sat in front of the television, listening to the music without actually playing the game. These are 2 of my favorites:

Here I am again, with another LoL track!

This time, I'm posting the music for the Dominion mode, played in the Crystal Scar.

Here's a tutorial on the music scaling:

0:00 Spawn. Buy your items, get ready to fight!

1:19 The gates have opened, the battle has begun!

4:25 A Nexus has reached 75% life. An early advantage, but it's not over yet!

6:50 A Nexus has reached 50% life. Keep pushing!/Rally, and come back from the deficit!

9:40 A Nexus has reached 25% life. Finish them!/ Give it your all! Don't let them destroy your Nexus!

12:52 Both Nexuses have reached 10% life! One Ace can decide the match!

I'd say, at the moment I like the soundtrack of Beat the Beat: Rhythm Paradise (AKA Rhythm Heaven Fever) above all, because not only does it fit to the beat of the minigames, it's also very good music. My favourite examples:

I have quite a few soundtracks I enjoy, but I'll post a few examples of what I consider to be game themes of the highest caliber.
First of all Zelda is great, but some songs in my opinion are only spectacular when heard through nostalgia... er, headphones. But this one. HNNNG.

OH ALMOST FORGOT Megaman...!

And that pretty much sums up my favorite soundtr-
THE PINNACLE OF ALL THINGS EPIC.

There's three games that really stand out musically to me.

First and foremost, the BlazBlue games. They use themes that really match the mood of the situation, be it a certain character's personality (Catus Carnival), the danger a certain character presents (Endless Despair), a confrontation between characters (X-MATIC), or the overall intensity of the situation as a whole (Shinsou). It also has my favorite song from any video game, so it gets major points for that alone.

Another one it'd be terrible for me not to mention are the Trauma Center games. Except Trauma Team, they've got pretty limited soundtracks (I think they don't exceed 20 tracks), but this is made up for by the sheer epic they contain. Between the various Code Blue themes, GUILT and Encroaching Shadows, the "sad moments," and ESPECIALLY the final boss themes (Vulnerability, Cardia II, Twisted Rosalia, Judgement Day, and Severing the Chains of Fate), you probably wouldn't be able to tell they're surgery games via the soundtrack.

And, I need to make note of one of the only games that is truly more art than video game, Okami. It's got music that REALLY compliments the feel and environment of it, not to mention the superb boss themes. Giving Kushinanda a Ride, Twin Devils, Waka's Dance, The Sun Rises, I could go on forever. wub.png I'll just let this speak for itself.

alot of tracks from Chrono Cross was awesome...even LoZ's OoT had some good tracks. hearing the old Pokemon music, makes me want to play the original games, for old times sake...but here's a few more I wanted to post, but couldn't for some reason.

"Faithful retainer to his family's liege, with the courage and strength of a thousand men..."

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FiLWZzeA3cY

"He owes allegiance to no one, and will do anything for money. He comes and goes like the wind..."

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=epprdUVbyos

and it still won't let me upload the 3rd one...odd.
