I remember playing this game back in elementary school. I really used to love this game. That and gym , I really loved gym. I really don't know why perhaps because it got me out of class.

Haha. Yeah, our science teacher would always let us play that game up until 3rd grade. We just call it "Heads Down, Thumbs Up."

Sounds dangerous... Is it that illegal game where you get bloody knuckles on recess? I remember the cool kids (and not so cool ones) coming back to class with blood over their hands, and the teachers asked "what have you been doing child?" and they responded "nothing ".

 

I hope it is not that game you are referring to.

No you put your head down on the desk and people go around and press 7 people’s thumbs and they have to guess who picked theirs and whoever gets it right gets to stand up and pick someone else’s thumbs

We played it all the time in elementary school. Everyone wanted to play it during indoor recess or as a quiet game when we got in trouble.

played it a lot but this is the first time i'm hearing about a version where you touch people's thumbs??

we did this version: "7 students stand in front of the class. The rest of the students put their heads on their desks. The 7 then move about and each touches a student. Once touched, a student sticks their thumb up. Then the 7 say “heads up 7 up!” The students who were touched then get a chance to guess which of the seven touched each of them. If they guessed right, they get to change places and be one of the students in the front."

I think about someone hiding their head inside their desk (like, I don't know if you have those old fashion desks you can open up, and put books inside), and then having people putting their thumbs randomly over the back of the person........ I really have the wrong idea here!

i say “almost” because if you’re perfect people will know you’re cheating. Gotta make it look real.

I remember this from elementary school. I remember if you got tapped when your head was down you would raise your hand. After the round you would have to guess who tapped you. That's all I remember though.

This game seems very confusing

Basically you sit at a desk with your head down and face covered with one thumb up. 7 people pick a random thumb and press it down then return to the front of the room. You have to guess who pushed your thumb down. If you are successful you get to pick next. If you are wrong then the tough part comes where you have to let them take the barbed wire bat and hit you with it once per person. Last one conscious is the winner.
