MoonStatue 26 July 1, 2016 Share July 1, 2016 Hello i was wondering how many people can remember an somewhat old game called Spore Quick recap just in case you never played it or just forgot about it. Spore is a game that was announced in 2005 there was a teaser for it and from what we saw it was cells that just advanced and evolved and eventually into space aliens. A lot of people were hyped for the game because the concept was really good and because it was being developed by Maxis the creators of the sims. Eventually in 2008 the game was released and the critics enjoyed it and a lot of people bought it but people who were hyped noticed that while the game was good not everything that was shown in the teaser was in the game a whole game stage was missing the Aquatic stage. This lead to a lot of people wonder how much better the game could have been. That was a quick summary of release now for what the game is like. the game had sorta 2 modes "creator" and "story". Creator was were you make creatures, buildings, vehicles, and eventually whole game missions and you can make almost anything you can think of and this is were the game shined you can create whatever. Story is were you take a single cell and you evolve it with the creator and you go from cell to creature to tribal, civilization, then space stages and the what the games play style would change almost every stage. then first expansion came and it just was more parts in the creature creator. then second one came out an it added a mission creator and this you just put everything from the other creators into one mission that you can play in the space stage. The game also had a way for you to upload and down load anyone creations. With that summary done time for what you think What are your thoughts on the game Have you played it? Do you like it? Do you think of it as just a sorta goof game that you play for half an hour and watch on YouTube? Do you think i could have been better or was just good? Was the creator revolutionary? Should there be a sequel? Has the game been forgotten these are just some question but i really would like to see what everyone thinks about the game PS this is my first topic i have made besides the one i made saying hello to the community hope you like it thanks you ~ Moonstatue

TinkyBlue 71 July 1, 2016 Share July 1, 2016 I. LOVE. THIS. GAME. 8D I still have it and play it. My favorite part is the second one, after we leave the ocean and come to roam the earth ! Although, I have two ways of playing this phase : Either I play it in a coherent way, changing my creature step by step and trying my best to make the modifications make sense. OR ! I loose it completely, kill every species I meet (though the first time, I was so effective that my creature started to die. I had completely forgot it was a carnivore ._.), and its body would change COMPLETELY from one modification to another XD you want a big ass ant ? You get it ! You want something that screams "let me diiie" when you look at it ? Here, have that.. Thing ? So yeah. This game is pure heaven.
VengefulStrudel 1,486 July 1, 2016 Share July 1, 2016 Ahh, good ol' Spore, if anything I loved it for its creature/structure/vehicle creator. I had a blast messing around with that. I should really reinstall it someday~ I only had one big, long game with it, I remember going around various planets and exploring around. Though I spent most of my time in the early stages, where you had a tribe of your creatures. I tended to start new games often just to make some new creatures. One of these days, will have to go back to it and make a planet full of vengeful spikey strudel-shaped creatures. 3 Check out my art thread for some cute ponies, cookies and boops. Good luck with that... The only way to get to the center of the universe is to either go through wormholes or ally them (which is not a good idea since it causes every other civilization in the universe to go to war with you regardless of your relation with them). Leave a Whisper 703 July 1, 2016 Share July 1, 2016 We've got Spore Hero's, Spore Creatures and Spore Hero Arena in our vg library. She likes it, it's not my thing. I preferred EVO.

Thuja 3,659 July 2, 2016 Share July 2, 2016 I was honestly pretty hyped about it when I first heard it was going to come out but when I got it... It seemed like a good idea but it wasn't really my cup of tea when I actually played it. The creation area was interesting but I got bored of it after a while.
redaxted 1,765 July 2, 2016 Share July 2, 2016 I absolutely love Spore! Sure, it wasn't quite as good as the hype suggested, but it's a great game nonetheless (in my opinion). I enjoy just creating creatures of all kinds, and I like every stage, and how different each is from the last.
Hocus Pocus 636 July 2, 2016 Share July 2, 2016 (edited) Spore was a fun time-killer Didn't really get to play a bunch of it, but I liked what I got to experience. I made a race of armless, legless, eyeless winged blobs. They were kinda like extremely aggressive giant flying blue peanuts with tusks.... And believe me, you did NOT want to see those things charge.... it was disturbing watching them just kinda scoot towards their prey at such incredible speed... The only thing I really added to them was a tribal mask, so by the end game, they were peanut-shaped blobs with shaman masks above horrible razor-sharp teeth-filled savage mouths with tusks protruding from either side flying around the galaxy, slowly taking it over through brute military force. They were war-mongers, and eliminated or enslaved planet after planet.... even the grox decided it was best to stay neutral towards them after a while.... Luna the Great of all the Russias 2,985 July 2, 2016 Share July 2, 2016 (edited) While I enjoyed playing the game, the final product was definitely a disappointment compared to, say, gameplay videos from 2005. Concept of evolution still has much potential as a game concept I think, so hypothetical Spore 2 could be an amazing game. Then again it's EA so it may not be as hopeful as it could be. Judge 5 July 3, 2016 Share July 3, 2016 I've never played it myself but a friend of mine was very invested in it. He was a little let down at first at its release by a few promises he said the game never delivered on. But he still had fun with it even if he'd never admit it. Codelyy 1,286 July 3, 2016 Share July 3, 2016 I do love spore a lot, I remember begging my mum for it when I was little and when I finally got it on my birthday, I played it all day and kept playing it. My favourite stage is the second one, the creature stage with my least favourite being the last one, the space age. I also remember preordering the first expansion for the game, galactic adventures which made the space age a lot more exciting, not to mention the world creator where I could spam epic's everywhere XD. I never actually beat the game as the space age goes on for way too long and even now I find the space age to be very boring. Or maybe I just didn't play it enough to get a good feel for it. Sadly I don't play it as much and can't get as much excitement from the game as I used too but it's still fun to create creatures. I remember hearing that the game was going to be completely different before it was released with there even being another stage where it's basically the creature stage but you're still in the ocean.
