What will happen when mlp ends?

Yeah ok

How long will the community last without the show?

I really hope it doesn't die but I guess it will sooner or later.

I don't know the point of this post. Just to see other people's opinions on the community dying.

We'll either keep it alive through fan-art/animation, disperse and find another fandom to corrupt, or the show will go on so long that the community completely abandons it. While I'd hate for it to end, I don't think I want the show to go the way the Powerpuff Girls have.

The community will still keep going strong for a while, but if there aren't any spin-off's or new Generations for a while, it will probably eventually slow down and a lot of people will leave.

I highly doubt it will die though, some of the more dedicated fans will stick around for as long as possible, leaving a smaller, but pretty loyal community.

Twilight is best pony.

Why hello MLPForums! What have ya been up to?

The community will still keep on going strong. I just hope that the show doesn't end up being like Teen Titans Go.

Why does everybody insist that this show only will be determined by adult fans. Sure the fandom will stay but we're not like to the scale like to Star Wars, Trekkies, or even Disney. Hasbro will still churn out a way to make money from merch by appealing to children.

If you mean the show completely, it'll take a good while for the community to actually disappear. Consider the MOTHER fanbase; there hasn't been a new MOTHER game for a decade already. Granted, it's been kept alive in Super Smash Bros., but it goes to show that some fanbases can go on a very long time without any game, movie, show, or comic to back it up. Not to mention MLP is such a money maker for Hasbro, they would surely make a new generation of it.

Personally, though, I'll probably move on if the fanbase was gone for good. I still have some other things to back me up.

THIS!!! I think the fan base for MLP for the adults will continue for a while. But, there's two things little girls like..... Ponies and princesses.

As long as little girls love ponies, MLP will continue. Now, either the next gen will be like this one, or we would remember it's glory days with fanfics , conventions, etc. etc. etc.

I don't think the fandom will die when the show ends.

other fandoms still exist even if they haven't seen any episodes in ages. the swat kats are a good example.

After the end of MLP, the last remaining episodes and movies will give enough creative juice for fanworks to go for sometime, the community will stay the way it is or a while but will eventually shrink. I mean the way Harry Potter and Twilight had such devoted fandoms but they eventually shrink as well, it's just a matter of time.

If shows like Firefly and Invader Zim can still to this day have passionate fanbases despite not lasting very long, than I don't see why the FIM community should go away after having a show with over 100 hundred episodes.

I'm hoping it will be as strong as the Dragon Ball community has been. Even after pretty much only surviving on fanwork and official games for years, the community has kept itself up. With BoG, FnF, and DBS, it's a complete revitalization.

I hope the community still keeps its spark even after it ends. ^^/

I...I think I'll die! :( Just shrivel up and die. Oh, heavens above! What will I DO without ponies?

:smug:

Seriously, though--I'll be sad when the show is over, but life goes on.

I won't ever stop being a fan; them colorful ponies will always have a special place in my heart.

Man...I don't like to think about this kind of stuff! My eyes are all glassy, now.

Yeah, I'm a sappy little wuss.

The Brony Code:

Humans are a lie, there are only ponies. Through ponies, I gain friendship.

Through friendship, I gain power. Through power, I gain victory.

Through victory, my chains are broken. Ponies shall set me free.

I think the fandom will outlive the show by at least a few years, and by then Hasbro might have put out a new generation of ponies that will at the very least draw some of the current fans into it. For myself, I'll probably hang around the forums for a while longer, or get into reading fanfics. Eventually, the fandom will die down to only the most hardcore bronies. Not sure if I'd stay around for that.

There's been fanbases surviving several decades. And the MLP fanbase has been going strong for 30 years. Hasbro will put out a new gen eventually. Its one of their top selling brands.

I hope it'll continue, I want to go to a BronyCon at least once in my life. My prediction is that during the first two years we'll lose a lot of the current fanbase, those will be very chaotic and uncertain times, and after that things will become more stable and the remaining people will keep the fandom alive for some years. We also should consider that even after the show ends there'll still be new people joining the herd, and perhaps there'll also be a new generation not so long after that, which would bring back a lot of people.
