I've gotten the warm fuzzies of do good's by sacrificing two pony merchant pieces to a friend, but now that she has had surgery, I'm constructing a pony gift basket for her with new things, along with some from my own hoard. So, would you take some of your own pony hoard to let someone have it? Or would you go out and buy new stuff for them, if they had none of their own? Maybe it costs more money to go out and buy new stuff, but that would let me still do something nice for a friend while still being more personally comfortable for me. Twilight is best pony. No problem giving away something when I have more than one of it. But, if I only had one I'd like to keep it to myself and get them a new one. I suppose I could give them the old one and buy a new one for myself too, but then I'd feel a bit weird because my old one might be in a slightly worse condition than something totally new, and I'd rather they get something at it's best. Of course, I'd also be willing to buy them something new should the need arise. There are some things I couldn't part with due to them being part of my collection so those would be off-limits. I have a tendency to become extremely attached to inanimate objects (more than the average person). I would still give someone something even if they weren't duplicates though, if they wanted that something real badly. There are obviously a few exceptions too and I would rather buy new pony stuff for them instead, but I still probably would share some of my own.
