I have to agree. Twilight's coronation was a bit premature. If they really wanted Twilight to be a princess, then I would've given her another season to work out a few more differences. As Nightmare Muffin said above me, there's always a way to change it, but I doubt Hasbro's willing to let go of her marketing just yet. Unless Season 8 turns out to be a dud, then I can see Hasbro pulling a "de-throwning" to keep the series going.

She has proven on several occassions that she is worthy of it. Does she still make mistakes? No doubt, but nobody is perfect. I just wish season 6 would have showed her in a far better light, it didn't do a good job of that at all.

 

For the record, if they did ever change it and somehow made her not a princess later on, that would completely kill the show for me. It would be such an unbelievably stupid and worthless thing to do. So, f*ck that idea. It won't happen anyways. Princess Twily is here to stay.

She was personally prepared by Celestia, and then sent out on her own to get experience, and then she saved the world a bunch...

what more do you need?

 

It would have been premature if she was sent out so early that she was treated differently.  That would have undermined the mission.

I think reverting Twi would feel too forced by this point . I also think that Twi's coronation, due to timing, felt pretty premature. In the writer's defense though, they expected FiM wouldn't go past S3. It feels forced past that? I think so, but it was a beautiful way for show finale emergencies  :-P

Reverting Twilight back to a unicorn and stripping her of the princess title would be one of if not the worst decisions the show could possibly make.

How does she have much to learn? Hasbro's clearly running out of ideas for lesson's by now, I think she's capable enough.

 

But as for my opinion on the matter, I believe she deserves it. Heck, I think all of the Mane 6 would deserve something like that considering the amount of feats they along with Twilight have accomplished. Defeating Nightmare Moon and reuniting Celestia with her sister, stopping Discord and even reforming him, defeating Queen Chrysalis TWICE, saving the Crystal Empire, sending Tirek back to Tartarus, giving up their biggest source of power in a selfless act to save Equestria from the Tree Of Harmony, freeing Starlight Glimmer's captives and reforming her, these are all big accomplishments Twilight's been involved in, and those are just the 2 part specials, what about the Ursa Minor situation for example? Also the fact that she was taught by Celestia herself, and Celestia was confident enough to know that one day she would definitely end up becoming a Princess. So I believe it goes without question, but that's just me.

Flurry Heart: Even tough she is still a foal, she already almost killed a whole Empire

Yes, and no. She's proven that she's worthy, yes. But she still isn't quite princess material yet, if you ask me. Besides, in my opinion, she isn't even a real princess. Firstly, she doesn't lead any kingdom, town, village, etc. The whole point of a monarchy is so you can have someone in charge of taking care of the land and its people. Also, the show hardly seems to recognize her princess-ship at all! Where are all her servants and lady's maids? Where are the chefs, the royal palace guards, the assistants? It's like she doesn't even exist aside from a few oddly placed meetings with other officials. That always just kind of bugged me, to be honest. I hope they address it in season 7. Please?

She's a princess now and hasn't disgraced the title, and it wouldn't be right to reverse it.

 

But "deserve" isn't the right question, I think. Has she grown a lot and accomplished a lot? Yes, and so have Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Fluttershy, and Pinkie Pie. So for me, the question isn't "does she deserve it?" so much as "what makes one earn princesshood?" and, really, "what makes her so special?" The show has never told us.

 

Plus, I'm fairly certain she never wanted to become a princess, and she was never warned it might happen or prepared for its responsibilities. Celestia has watched her for so long, yet has done so little that, as of the S4 finale, she has no idea why she's a princess? Sure she "deserves" it, but that doesn't mean it ever should have happened.

This is about whether she deserves to be a princess, not how she is as a friend. I was saying that because of all the feats her and her friends have accomplished together she completely deserves the title. But if we're going to talk about that, It's understandable that Twilight was like that. I don't necessarily agree with the way she treated both Discord and Trixie, if anything I support Fluttershy on the matter of Discord than the other characters, Trixie on the other hoof can be considered an annoyance some times, but she has come through for ponies like Starlight before and has shown glimmers of good qualities within her hidden inside her boasty, bragging nature. But looking from Twilight's point of view, I can accept her being mad at the Dragonequus who essentially tried to create a chaotic Equestria and reversed all the qualities that made her friends good friends, temporarily making them completely unlikable characters and has had multiple run ins and battles with Celestia and Luna in the past. As for Trixie, she kept showing off and trying to belittle Twilight, and once even got her locked out of Ponyville! I of course like to think of Trixie as simply a misguided soul, but of course the way Twilight's treated by her makes her hold a grudge because why wouldn't she?

I think her princess position is well deserved! Yes, she could've done a little more in Magical Mystery Cure, but she does an awesome job at being a princess, even though she tends to forget and is not perfect! You know what else? She's also humble! She doesn't care about her princess status that much because wings or not, she wants to make a good impression of Equestria, but also wants to be treated exactly the same as she was when she was a unicorn!

Yes she does, concerning her accomplishments. Yes, she does make mistakes from time to time, but i don't see why this is a bad thing. If she is a characters with no flaws whatsoever, then she would be the most boring character on the show. But she shows that she cares about friendship, not always in the best ways, but she never means it bad.

 

Also, taking her title and wings away would be the greatest copout, even more now. That just shows that the writers don't care and give up.

Honestly, no. She sure have saved Equestria a lot of time, but she was not alone so why she would deserve to be a princess but not the other ?
And even if her magic is powerful, she's not princes material to me. Plus the other princess seems to have royals parents and Twilight is just a regular unicorn...

Wow, I mean, respect for your opinion and all, but this just seems devastatingly harsh. "laughable"? "negligence"? Those are pretty big words and Twilight doesn't come close to that, she cares too much about her friends and the world she lives in to be negligent and I wouldn't call somepony who has been a successful well rounded leader of the Mane 6 throughout the entire series, save for maybe Lesson Zero and Bridle Gossip, but those were before she earned her wings anyway, has caused multiple disasters to be averted and is all in all one of the most powerful, friendly and memorable characters of the show laughable. I don't wanna start an argument so I'll cut it off here, but this here was just a little too brutal for me to ignore, sorry to you or the original poster if I end up offending you.

I don't really see the point in her being a princess. She doesn't command anybody or show leadership qualities. Even with wings, she needs her friends to defeat anything. So, she might as well have stayed a unicorn. But, you know, Hasbro's gotta sell those toys somehow.
