XD Season 6 PROVES that they can, and will make some good episodes for him! It looks like they know what to do with him, and I'm confident we're going to be getting at least three very good episodes starring Spike this season, just like last season! That said though, the episodes he DOESN'T star in, he may just resort to being that snarky and funny dragon he's always been (which is fine as long as it doesn't turn into Spikeabuse), but in episodes he DOES, he should be just fine! It literally felt like it was written for 5 year olds; something I would find on Nick Jr. Hell, Sofia the First has more respect for the audience than The Times they are a Changling. And that song... While season six had some really questionable and poor execution, Spike had his best season. Aside from one episode (Newbie Dash), he was treated with the most respect out of anyone. SoME has one of my favorite scenes in the entire show, and possibly the most clever narrative trick the show has used. Inspiration Manifestation is also one I like, but they could have kept the owl out of it. Also, Power Ponies was fun too. Season six had two Spike episodes in Gauntlet and Times, and they're easily the best ones to date. While season six had some really questionable and poor execution, Spike had his best season. Can't find anything to disagree with here. Before Season 6, and outside those two episodes you mentioned, Spike seemed to be best used as in small support moments. I liked him better that way. I think Princess Spike is among the lowest on my list, but Spike at your Service is BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD . Same with AJ! We talk about bad Spike episodes because until around Amending Fences, he was treated very horribly by the showrunners. Season 6 doesn't change what happened to him up to AF, but DHX apparently wisened up. Whether it'll continue next season and beyond remains to be determined. Aside from Somepony to Watch Over Me, AJ episodes are usually okay at least. Can't argue with Rainbow Dash, however. Apart from Princess Spike and Owl's Well I never had a problem with most of his episodes You guys are talking about bad Spike episodes, when Rainbow's been the victim of bad episodes for a majority of season 6, and a majority of the past too! Same with AJ! AJ and RD up until S6 were fine apart from a couple of outliers like Rainbow Falls and Somepony to Watch Over Me. S6 was still really bad for them, as AJ was having a really bad season with her either being an idiot in almost any episodes she had a major role in, while episodes like Newbie Dash and 28 Pranks Later felt like the writers were outright laughing at/punishing people for liking RD Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
