im rely looking foward to this game just becaue i a huge fighting game fan and i saw some footage of it form Evo and it look solid apart from a few bugs and infinates as well as Rairitys level 2 (were she fires jewles from the ground) move being OP bcause its a half screen move the causes stagger and a ton of damage.

i just can wait to play it and learn some of Twilights move because she seem to be a ranged fighter using her ook and magic to keep em at bay and i could probaly get some OTG combos going with her if i can get someone in to a corner

This is a freeware indie game that is being made by the developer mane6. They say that even though it will be freeware they are doing anything and everything possible to make it a great game and not half-ass it.

 

From the info given they really seem to be trying to make a fantastic game.

 

Anyone else gonna check it out?

A: Sorry, no can do.

 

Getting a character into the game requires character planning, concept balancing, concept art sketching, concept art cleaning, high-res conversion, making of sprite-sheets, importing into the game, testing, re-testing, calibrating, movement balancing against the other characters and itself, SFX, Background Music, Background Stage sketching, cleaning and conversion, stage testing, engine Modification, GUI Modification, more testing, compiling, testing for unforeseen bugs and issues that might appear... A huge load for each char in.

 

We'd like to focus in releasing characters that the whole fandom would enjoy and recognize. And we're focusing on quality.

 

Q: Will there be a custom OC creator we can use to import extra characters into the game?

A: Creating a viable custom character maker isn’t as easy as it sounds; It is NOT only creating a “blank” pony and tackling a custom palette on top; It requires far more resources into developing and technical creation than we can invest on it, and the end result would most likely end up being unsatisfactory, both for the players and the developers... Not to mention it’d push back our Live release to end of season 5, or so.

 

 

As such, no OC will come up. That would be too much terror balancewise.

I am 95% sure Celestia will be in the game, either as a playable character or a boss character.

And Philomena? Very unlikely.

The shame about this game is that they are still at only 4 characters, will only create characters of season 1 while we are soon at season 3 and, most importantly, will not have a multiplayer platform in the game but you will have to download another program and do the whole research of an opponent by yourself, with IP adress and stuff

I see where they're coming from about the OC thing. A game isn't like a static drawing of a generic pose, you can't just take a character and slap your character's physical traits (color, hairstyle, cutiemark) on it. You need animations, including attacks and dodges and all; it'd be too much work adding a feature allowing that.

It's old news of course, but since 'I'm looking forward to it and here's reasons X, Y and Z on why' is basically the only thing one can do atm, I wanted to mention how much I approve of Dashie's still animation. Like is said on the official site, it fits her personality to a T, the 'ready to pounce' attitude. Plus she looks kinda cute.

 

 

All the character's we've seen in action thus far are well-done, of course. I await the day when all six of the main cast are 100% done, and things move onto the next phase of major game development <3

Dash and Fluttershy are the last of the Main Six to be completed. I don't know if the creators have finished them enough yet to the point where they have released any info about their move sets. My guess is no, as I haven't seen anything yet, but eh, I could be wrong.

This time therey're showing the different combos you can do, which I'm glad to see unbugged.

 

On a side note, I hope they're close to being finished with the pegasi, I'm starting to wonder how those two will hold back the release of the game.

I was aware ^^ Definitely look forward to her, though. In a way, I'm glad she's one of the last of the Mane 6 to be completed. Makes waiting for her all the more exciting, seeing how amazing all the others are turning out so far. Cloudsdale's stage based off her character is sweet, too. Dat music.
