My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic

Get ready for the mane event with My Little Pony Friendship is Magic Season 7. Join Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, and Rarity for even more enchanted adventures! Go on a Daring Do quest after dealing with the villainous Pony of Shadows. Fix family feuds and fashion emergencies. Help campers get a Cutie Mark then head out on a cruise. Grab your friendship journal and uncover these marvelous magical tales.

Well, I was hoping for the Pony of Shadows, but last thing I've expected was to involve Daring Do. Since it was first named in the episode Castle-Mania, I hope the Pony of Shadows keeps some Lords of Shadow reference

its Shadowlock, from the comics, I bet. Daring is a book author, and Shadowlock erases books' histories.

I thought the same thing. It also makes sense he was in a the Castle in Season 4 considering it's library.

Nah man, shadowlock is an alright guy, he's not evil in the least. The comic ends with him kind of confused about how stupid his plot was and the realization that he pretty badly screwed his own mind too. He's not a villain in the least, and I doubt they'd bring him back for the Show plot since that would require the comic's to be read to understand the show.

Its his ANCESTOR that's shown to be the true villain of the comic.

Which makes me wonder how the pony of shadows ties into this :/
The comic's grammar implied his ancestor was a HE, and I would assume the pony of shadows would be a she, being NMM's evil and all.

All we can know is find out later when the synopsises are exposed.

But my instincts say that Daring Done is clearly Rainbow Dash and Campfire Tales and A Health of Information hopefully will both not be Applejack, Rainbow Dash or Rarity.

So apparently the Pony of Shadows actually exists in the show's universe, and we are going to see them appear in an episode.

I am down for that, especially seeing how this continuing the season's trend of continuity that I have been enjoying so far.

And Campfire Tales like I expected is going to be a CMC episode, got nothing else to say about it.

Join Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, and Rarity ... This doesn't have Starlight Glimmer and random background ponies. It's fake! The Russians did it! They hacked H-Bro!

Well technically these episodes Won't have Starlight in them-- its only the Finale, a royal problem and Equestria girls that will have starlight as the central figure :P

but yeah, I agree with your sentiments on it >.<

On that note, we can hope that Starlight actually WON'T be in the finale due to being sucked into the Equestria girls universe instead XD (Though, I actually am kind of expecting her being in the equestria girls universe special is going to be the show's explanation for why she won't be in the movie, with the two taking place simultaneously in the timeline)

The prophecy is being fulfilled before our very eyes. Mane 6 are getting shafted again, and again, and again, and again, their stories nipped in the bud by a nonchalant rabble. They don't even have the decency to mix it up. Makes one wonder what third grade pen nibbler is in charge of these particular assets. I mean, is it really that hard to let Mane 6 win six tickets to Hawaii or something? Guess their fans are all a bunch of hapless masochists who only care for lessons and slice-o-life episodes like good stereotypical little girls ... who apparently like to play with action figures for some reason. Yeah, I don't get it either. This daily struggle is just too real for me.

I will say though, I am slightly hopeful that the fact that there was NO starlight in the shadowlock arc (which is meant to be a tie in to the meta-plot of this season) might mean that whatever two parter Villainous plot we get this season won't have starlight in it either.
I know its wishful thinking, but i'm still hoping so >.<

Yeah, but we both know how Mane 6 tend to beat villains with a hug and a rainbow blast. Then Starfoals & Co will once again unzip their pants and start pissing all over them while preaching the same old shit about stale stories and character retirement. Meanwhile, Starlight will get something slightly different and everyone will hail it as Second Coming. I mean, imaginary characters are known to write their own stories. It's imponderable like terrorism.

I don't want their struggle with the villain to be another mediocre experience. I want it to be, within the boundaries of what is permissible, the most lit shit we've ever seen in MLP that can only be beaten by the Movie. Only such an arc can wash away the stain.

Actually curious there, now that I think about it, how they would have the six defeat a villain now that the EOH are more or less gone from the show due to being stuck in the tree. It kind of defaults to "Use OP unicorn magic" without the EOH.

Let's be honest here: Twilight and Dash aside, there are no ponies among Mane 6 who could stand a chance against a non-fun-sized manticore that fights on the level an elementary school kid would ascribe to it. See, most shills in our community don't understand that kids these days use Hanzo main as an insult, so we have a pretty good grasp about what they want as far as imaginary combat is concerned.

That said, Mane 6 need solo arcs that would push them to their limits in order to unlock their true potentials. I have told you before, didn't I, about how I think each one of them could contribute to a boss fight. This is fantasy and they do fit RPG classes. There are many interesting things you can do with them while Twilight is fighting the villain. There may be minions to defeat, some device of doom that needs to be deactivated, some weakness to uncover, some ponies to lead/save, or maybe you even need to distract the villain if Twilight gets her plump plot temporarily rekt by an unforeseen spell or ability. You don't even need all of them present at the boss fight. Some of them can play leads in completely different parts of the same story. They can have their own mini boss fights or something equally challenging to make up for their absence.

This suddenly reminds me of that crappy harmony quest MLP game that came out and how You'd generally beat the changelings by having pinkie dance at them or something

[shit]

This is pretty much on the level of worst crap you can get on Newgrounds. Unfortunately, this is also how Mane 6 should "fight" in the minds of our glorious writers. Normies should just stop writing fantasy. REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

If I look at FIM through the lenses of my previous experiences with entertainment it's basically in palliative care. Time and bad decisions have run their course and no amount of decent episodes can reverse the process. You need something out of left field.  The Movie offers a sliver of hope.

To be fair, its not the writers who are responsible for that, just hasbro being super cheap and having Zero quality control.

They were probably offered money to let the devs make a crappy flash game, said "Sure, whatever, here's a text dump!" and then ignored anything past that for overseeing it.

Yeah, from what I saw in the Playthrough I watched, you basically have to Buy half the mane six at a pretty hefty fee to complete the game :X

Also, the intro made me yell "BULLS****!" at it when it talked about an "Ancient magical stained glass window" when any stained glass windows of the mane six were like 4 years old tops and non-magical :P

I don't give a hoot what app garbage is excreted on the internet; however, I see the same attitude being applied to FIM by our glorious writers and their supervisors. Neither they nor H-Bro seem to be invested in FIM at this point. This could turn out to be a good thing on the long run, well, for people like us at least  ;)
