It was at school and I recently became a brony and I was going to buy the shirt that said "this shirt just got 20% cooler" but when I went to get it hot topic was sold out of that one.

The very next day a new guy shows up wearing the shirt that I wanted and I asked him If he got that one from hot topic and he got scared a scared look on his face and said "No..." (It looked like he was afraid that I was going to hit him because he was a brony lol) but then I told him I was going to get the same shirt and his expression changed into a smile and a laugh and we were going to talk but then the bell rang but later we had some classes together and sorta became instant friends. Its funny looking back on it because nearly all of our taste were completely different, I loved metal music the most he liked almost only electronic stuff, I liked alot of old music like the band Rainbow and he couldn't stand anything past the 90's or 2000's because the production wasn't as good. But we found common ground on other things and it was mlp the most, we would always be laughing at inside jokes or when we got to share a computer we would listen to episodes on youtube while doing school work on the odyssey program and close out the tab quickly when people were trying to see what we were watching because neither of us wanted anyone to know. God 2012 was a fun time.I lost touch with him eventually but I'll remember those times as some of the best.

Nope, I never met a single person who said they were a fan of the show, that being said, no one ever wanted anything to do with me. I never expressed my love for the show openly, I just kinda kept it as a side thing among other things that I was interested in and would enjoy myself. Plus, a lot of the time other people getting involved usually ruins something that I liked before because they don't understand my interest or love for something, so it's for the best. But it's good to hear you had such a positive experience thanks to the show, I'm well jelly you met a fellow watcher and fan of MLP: FIM.

My best friend is also a fan. :) I had no idea until a few weeks after we first met. One evening we were watching YouTube together on her computer and I noticed some pony videos in the "recommended" list on the side. That started a long conversation about who's your favorite pony, what's your favorite episode, blah blah blah.

I met another fan at a university club, and I found out in hindsight that someone I used to know in high school was a brony the whole time but only ever told his ex-girlfriend who I still talk to from time to time. And finally one of my friends in high school once commented that he was a brony around Season 2 but he lost interest.

Welcome to the forums by the way :P . It's your first post .

The first person I talked to with about MLP wasn't IRL, but it was over the mic while playing COD zombies; I said "the fun has been doubled!" as we got a particular power-up and he got the reference and whatnot...

Also I met two people on here before :proud: ...

My best friend is also a fan. I mean like, I got her into  the show. Oops. We're also gonna see the movie when it comes out.

As for people I don't know, nope, never met someone who likes the show. I don't think so anyways.

Well it was more like I had a friend for a while which also turned out to like the show. It was great.

Well, I had a friend at my old university that eventually begged me to watch ponies, which I did, and joined the herd. The other one I've found out later. He showed up at the computer lab while I was watching pony stuff. I was so surprised and scared that I've look like I was hiding porn there  . Still, one of my tabs clearly said "My Little Pony", until my brother told me that he was also a brony

Strangely enough, the first brony I met, I met before I knew what a brony was. She always wore around her Rainbow Dash backpack and had rainbow dyed hair, but I didn't know the fandom was a thing. She was my neighbor for three years before I actually joined the fandom. Now, every time I see that backpack, I'm filled with determination.

I really should tell her she's not alone in being a brony. I've found like 8 different closet bronies in my hometown alone...

I've never actually met up with the S.A (South American) fandom - I'm from Perú-, mostly because the fans are... really intimidating old man.

And I don't mean to stereotype everyone in the fandom, I know that most of the people out there are not too kind of young adults or fully grown ups to like a "kid's show", but here in my country, the fans are rather really creepy or just posers. The creepy ones are like way into the series, they are really aggressive and start up discussions rather often, and I know because I actually went to a few events (not as in meet ups, but more like events where you can buy merchandise and there are other fandoms related to animation in general) and I didn't enjoy it. The girls are also kind of weird, they were too touchy... there were around... 50? maybe 60 bronies? They all wore a patch on their chests. The artist alley was pretty damn good but they didn't know anything about the series, most of them only knew the main cast names because they wanted to sell merchandise... that was like 5 years ago, but still, it was one of the worst conventions I ever assisted...

There probably have been some individual meetings with pony fans but I think to me the very first time of meeting other fans to do MLP-related things was a large meetup in 2014. I was really excited to go but turns out it wasn't such a glorious experience like I had thought. Maybe it was a bit too overwhelming to start with such a huge meetup instead of going to some smaller meetups first? Sounds likely to me.

I thought I was alone until I got to know a girl called Ashly at school. She's the same age as me and she's a partial fan of MLP but she's mainly into other grim themed video games and TV shows. She's also a really good artist on Deviant Art and I haven't told her about my theory of MLP just yet but when I do we could become an art team like she could do consept art for my theory. We both occasionally snoop off into a coner of the school grounds during lunch or recess where we're both alone and we talk about MLP then. :)

On vacation at Disney World last year I got a lot of comments and Brohooves from MLP fans (6 years old up to mid 30s) because I was wearing a Derpy T-shirt. One guy even took a picture with me. A cast member there gave me a hoof bump and said, "We're everywhere!" and that really put a smile on my face. :P

When I had gotten my first MLP Build-a-Bear at the mall, one of the employees noticed and she said she was a fan of the show. She had notice the Derpy plush I had and she knew right away that this isn't some normal plush, as it's only an online exclusive.

Another time is when I'm at the thrift and the cashier notice that I had found and gotten a MLP book. He said that his favorite pony is Rainbow Dash when I was a the counter. We talked a little and we both notice that we were holding up the line. Other than that, those two were the only instances when I met any other MLP fan for the first time.

Fall, of 2013... People at school knew me as that edge lord who doesn't talk and always wears a hood. Then along came this guy who was literally Bubble Berry's human personification. He would constantly talk to me about stuff and I grew fond of him, turns out that guy was a brony. We became friends, and I began to notice a lot of people at this school were bronies. He had a goal to befriend every brony in the school and unite us, so we called him Pinkie Pie. I don't talk to that guy anymore, we lost contact when I transferred schools, but because of him any brony I see I walk up to them and brohoof them.

"Edge lord who doesn't talk and always wears a hood." I remember being that once. I had a similar experience with a guy who just started talking to me about stuff and becoming friends. Our contact was all over the place but we lost touch after graduating permanently because he moved. Lol if you know what i'm talking about i have to ask, did that guy make big speeches about becoming friends with every brony like Gentaro in fourze?

It was my future brother in law in late 2010. The guy actually started a chain of events that would find me becoming a fan in 2014.
