So I just finished the Resident Evil demo for the first time, and it's well worth the space on your SD card. The visuals are just as impressive on screen, though there is the seldom issue with the screen resolution. If you're going to play this one with the 3D on, you can also increase the depth in the options menu (I'd recommend "very strong). Definitely play this one in the dark, not only for the spine-tingling moments but so things don't get washed out by outside light. There are plenty of said moments to be had navigating this ship, and I never found the controls to be a hindrance to the experience. A run button might have been nice, but I can live without it (hopefully :P ). If you really don't want to buy a Circle Pad Pro yet, this scheme works. Incidentally, this demo is CPP-compatible.

Make no mistake: This a classic RE game at its core. For one, the knife is your best friend here.

If you've played through the demo already, I've got a question for you: Where did you die the first time playing the demo?

I died right around the blade-armed zombie upstairs. I think my mistake was not using the grenade on the mob in the previous room, because then I didn't have enough ammo. Oh well, die and learn.

Absolutely. Anyone who owns a 3DS, unless they really just don't care for Resident Evil, would be well advised to pick it up.

It's definitely come into its own recently. There's lots of good downloadable games like Pushmo and Mighty Switch Force (for the speed-run freaks) and applications like Swapnote and Nintendo Video, the retail library provides some solid entertainment (some of which is very cheap now), and established Streetpass groups will give you plenty to do in Mii Plaza and other compatible games. Even the Friends List is more efficient now.

If you can get the money together, you won't regret it. Oh yeah, and Four Swords Anniversary Edition is still free, so get on it if you want that.

They've gone so far as to say that Twilight Princess is objectively the worst Zelda game ever and anybody who thinks it is a good game isn't an "true Zelda fan".

Proud non-true Zelda fan, here.

Twilight Princess and Link's Awakening are the top two in the series, if anyone were to ask me.

Which they most likely won't.

I think if you also brought up Link's Awakening, those who would accuse you would then back away admiring the fact you like LA so much.

There's certainly lots to like about Twilight Princess. I wouldn't go as far as calling it the best game, but the "true fans" can look past its roots in satisfying "the Wind Waker haters" and find some interesting things underneath the surface.

I know nothing of the Zelda fandom; what is the general opinion on LA?

I'm basically likening that with being a fan of "underrated" Zelda games like Majora's Mask and Zelda II. It's a well-liked game but not one of the games that's gotten the kind of recognition others have. As a result, there's a certain respect that comes with saying you're a fan of it. Recently Miyamoto called it the best Zelda for a starting player in terms of mechanics.

I personally love the fact it's thematically based on Twin Peaks, and I'd like to see that style realized in a 3D Zelda. MM touched on it, still only being the OoT engine, so I'd like the idea to be taken further.

Not sure if I count as part of the fandom, but I've played nearly all of the games.

Link's Awakening is my favourite along with Majora's Mask,

followed by the Oracle of Ages/Seasons and Wind Waker.

Been playing with Nintendo since I was just a wee tot, and I still love a lot of the games they come up with.

Favorite Nintendo franchises are definitely Pokemon and F-Zero. I'm also pretty hyped for the Wii U.

Nope, but I do know a phrase that can help bring this chat back to life.

Although it's a third party game, I first played it on my Nintendo Gamecube, so here goes,

"Phoenix Down!"

Well, that worked out quite well.

Now that things are in proper working order, I'd like to know if anyone has had the chance to play the WiiU yet. If so, is it chiller than sauce?

I'm also looking forward to getting Code Princess for my 3DS this holiday season.

Anyways, hopefully this thing starts kicking ass again.

(Now Feld0's other domain has no use -- everything Nintendo can simply be discussed in this thread! Aha.)

Well, a big part of my childhood is over, got the final issue of Nintendo Power in the mail today.  Even though I've migrated more to Xbox and PC, I still play a lot of Nintendo.  I'll probably get a WiiU for Christmas with Mario Bros., I can't wait.

I'm not a huge gamer but Nintendo still appeals to me because of the family friendly games, simplicity, and characters I can recognize. My favorite franchises are Mario and Pokémon. Both have simple gameplay in their main series as well as tons of spin offs. And the Pokémon series also has my favorite puzzle games Pokémon Puzzle League, and Battle Trozei which I enjoy a lot more than most smartphone games. I actually still prefer Nintendo Handhelds over smartphones or any platform for that matter mainly because they have my favorite games on them and feel more comfortable. I do have a Wii U but don't play it as much.

Nintendo still interests me because their games are close to my passion for animation. I know they keep putting out gimmicks but they're actually interesting and they're trying different things.
