So Daniel will leave EQG for new musicians to focus to the show, which is a good news to the main show because we can get more quality songs, he doesnt have any upcoming movie and now he doesnt have anything to do with EQG so he will have 100% focus to  the show. However, this is a bad news for EQG franchise, because songs is one of what make EQG successful in the first place (Rainbow Rock). EQG already went downhill after Legend of Everfree (story-wise), take Daniel away hurts this franchise even more.

What do you think?

That’s... really disappointing to hear. Rainbow Rocks saved the EQG series, and the fantastic music had a lot to do with it.

Hopefully this new talent will make a good first impression.

I don't really care since I'm not into Equestria Girls anymore as much as I used to.

A good thing in my believe. Giving change for other singer songwriters is very nice to do and if he can spend more time at the show, the songs there will hopefully be fantastic to hear

Not sure how to feel. Yeah, EQG had soem solid songs (Cafeteria song, all of RR) but then again there were some meh offerings (friendship games and LoE).

Even the latter two movies had a number of good songs, and some of the music shorts were pretty good.

im not sure how to feel about this, equestria girls is becoming it's own show anyway with it's own feel so this may not be a bad thing, at in case i hope it means we're going to have some awesome songs in the main show this season, im looking forward to that.

Yes, true. Just saying for the most part,  they weren't as spectacular.

I've grown to appreciate the EQG song catalogue a lot more over the years... sure some of the lyrics border on the asinine side of cheesy, but instrumentally and vocally they've rarely put a foot wrong. I'll miss the quality that Dan brought to the films, but at the same time... I'm intrigued to hear what new composers can do.

It's disappointing for Equestria Girls, but it might not be as bad as it sounds. Many of the recent shorts had songs written by others, but they were still good (I especially like "Coinky-Dink World" and "Monday Blues"). As long as they use good songwriters whose style fits the show, we'll have nice songs. Along with Ingram writing great songs for the main series! :D

This is disappointing as his musical numbers are one of my favorite things to come out of both FIM and EQG.

Plus the latter has had some pretty greats ones such as the Cafeteria song, all of Rainbow Rocks, Legend you Were Meant to Be, Dance Magic, and Good Vibes.

Coinky-Dink World is still stuck in my head.

Good! That means either the show will get so many more songs, or the songs will be 5x more better than they have before!

EG will be fine with their new composers! ;)

If Daniel put his 100% his body and mind to make good songs like  he did before...

Let hope the new musicians can fill that big gap.

The magic has left EQG, let hope the new musician can create one on their own.

Some new talent on the show might not be so bad, especially since I honestly feel Ingram's work on the show has become increasingly samey-sounding over the years. I'm interested in seeing what new perspectives might have to offer.

Were those written by others? They were really catchy.

Yes. According to a tweet by Katrina Hadley who directed the shorts, "Coinky-Dink World" was written by Mason Rather and "Monday Blues" by John Boyd. I found this information on the MLP Wiki articles for the shorts.

Nice. This series may have some potential yet.

The songs in season 7 were weak compared to 1-5*. If not for Hearth's Warming Tale ... Season 6 would have been just as weak. He got spread thin and it shows. The additional focus should be helpful.

Also, based on the lead time to write and record a song ... Did this just confirm season nine? Or is he focusing on the show to spend more time tightening up what was already done? I only say this because Season 8 songs would have likely already been written and recorded.
