Kyoshi Frost Wolf 42,202 December 3, 2017 Share December 3, 2017 It is the holiday season and holiday movies are being played or promoted everywhere. Happens every year and for good reason, there are some great holiday flicks. One of my personal favorites, Polar Express, is a film I like to watch every year around the holidays. With each movie we are able to enjoy, comes perhaps movies we can't get into for whatever reason. For you, what are some holiday movies that are near impossible to get into and truly enjoy? For me, this is easy: A Christmas Story. A classic for many people and it takes place (but not filmed) in my state, that's cool. It isn't a bad movie by any means, but wow. It just...has so much friggin hype around it that I can't enjoy it really. A whole 24 hour marathon of the film is overkill to the max and it makes me tired of hearing about it. I also think the film is quite mean spirited but I suppose it pays off in the end. I just wish it wasn't so treated like a film above all else. 5 Redeem me into childhood. King of Canterlot 9,608 December 3, 2017 Share December 3, 2017 Adam Sandler's "Eight Crazy Nights", it's stupid and he treats everyone like trash. Terrible holiday movie. 5 RA RA RASPUTIN
Narcissus 356 December 3, 2017 Share December 3, 2017 I saw Krampus, which started out fun and cool but the whole second half got extremely lame. Just ruined the whole ride. I'm not a fan of Home Alone either, really overrated. Frosty Returns and some of the similar knock-offs of good holiday movies belong in the trash can too. It's a fine film but it doesn't need a 24 hour marathon.

KatonRyu 1,036 December 4, 2017 Share December 4, 2017 Just about every single one which isn't an ultra-violent spoof movie like Santa's Slay or Gremlins.
Dreambiscuit 11,340 December 31, 2017 Share December 31, 2017 I'm not a huge fan of the Home Alone movies, which I guess are considered Christmas movies. I don't really like the Santa Clause movies either. The middle one has its moments, but overall they fall really short. Polar Express is pretty low on the list as well (sorry Kyoshi) but I have a lot of eclectic tastes that most others would laugh at.
Octavia_Melody2 187 December 31, 2017 Share December 31, 2017 A Christmas Story of course because of my dad and grandpa's obsession with that movie and also the dumb live action version of the Grinch because some people love it and think it was better than the animated version. The Jim Carrey/Ron Howard version has some of the cringeworthiest humor ever and it's just plain irritating. Also, the original Grinch voiceover was Boris Karloff. You don't top Boris Karloff. He was a legend compared to Jim Carrey's overacting nonsense.
CinemaBrony 1,276 December 31, 2017 Share December 31, 2017 Love Actually. I do think it had a few nice moments here and there, but the movie as a whole failed to win me over. https://www.youtube.com/user/CinemaBronyVA/videos
Here No Longer 5,286 January 1, 2018 Share January 1, 2018 (edited) To be honest, all but a few I could count on my fingers. They're literally all the same story. Though I especially don't like "It's a Wonderful Life." I've found that one downright boring to watch, even for half an hour. Let alone it's entire runtime... That's just torture to be honest. Sonic Shimmer 4,138 March 16, 2021 Share March 16, 2021 Home Alone 4. Someday, many decades from now, as I lie on my death bed crippled and withered from age, watching this movie will still be the greatest regret of my life. Friendship isn't always easy. But it's definitely worth fighting for. Twilight Sparkle is Best Pony!
