gaming Bad parts in great games.

Even the best games ever made have THAT part, whether it's a level, a boss, puzzle, whatever, that are so annoying and frustrating that it brings the rest of the game down.

For me, it's the Anor Londo Silver Knights in Dark Souls 1. If you try to block the arrows, you'll get knocked back, usually falling off the ledge and to your death. You just have to get lucky and make the Knight on the right fall off the ledge.

Forced stealth sections in non-stealth games, though Windwaker takes the cake here. Fuck Forsaken fortress

Also forced escort missions, especially Resident Evil 4. Fuck Ashley

Forsaken fortress isn't that hard if you let your self get caught to quickly go up to the 2nd floor where the real action is. You don't even need to go through the rooms of the 1F. It's actually a cakewalk when you know what you're doing.

Honestly, People can be harsh on that game. And it makes me sad.:(

The first example that comes to my mind would be the Little Mermaid Level in Epic Mickey Power of Illusions.  The massive difficult spike was surprising and frustrating given how the previous levels were nowhere as difficult so it catches you really off guard.

I'll see your Anor Londo archers and raise you the infamous Blighttown. Even with the framerate issues resolved in Remastered, I dare you to find a single person who didn't absolutely hate Blighttown.

The hacking minigames present in nearly every game that features hacking.  Just let us hack the computer if it is something our character can do, don't make us play an inane time wasting minigame to do it.

Most Sonic's 'speed up' sections in Sonic 06... oh wait you mean good games...  Granted, I'll be honest.  I don't fully dislike Sonic 06 like most people.  Though I do agree that most of the gameplay issues that people have with the game I do agree with and just UGH!!  But aside for the glitches, stupid load times, and how I think the speed up sections could of been adjusted a bit (like not every stinking thing causing you damage!!) it wouldn't be half bad imo.

I know there were some levels/challenges that I dread having to redo when playing some of the other games that I enjoy... I just can't think of them right off hand.  So for now I'll go with Mii Party U... games fun but I really REALLY wish you could pick from your own Mii's as to who your AI opponents without working the system.

Long story short in order to do it.. you need enough controller's for the number of opponents you want.. then start the game like you're doing a multi-player game... Then once the game starts.. switch said opponents to AI controlled.  Sadly enough, with doing this cheat... The AI will be set on the highest difficulty, unless you have an 'from start' AI then it will set it to whatever that one is.

Yeah I know the issue is more just a 'skin' issue.  But I like treating the game like my 100+ characters are going on an adventure or something.

  • Final Boss "fight" of Fable 2.
  • Third Gym Battle from Ruby and Sapphire. I'm surprised so many people complain about Whitney when there you could at least get a Machop in a trade which makes Whitney not too hard. Sure, Starting Torchic makes it easy enough to beat him, but try it with Treecko. It is a NIGHTMARE. I only beat it because my Azumarill got a lucky streak of Rollouts that swept through everyone but the Manectric. Then the Manectric alone literally swept half of my team before I could actually freaking beat him. Before that, I tried it over and over again. I was even OVER level when I STARTED.
  • Rusty Bucket Bay. Enough said.

Final boss fight?  Dang been awhile since I've played that game I don't remember it.  But I will admit the 'wishes' was a bit annoying in the game.  I just about always picked the family one for the dog.

I don't even remember my original fight with Whitney being hard... Though I did use only one pokemon back then so had a level advantage.   Can't say I've ever had trouble with flannery.. though again I just about always pick Torchic… and the only time I didn't... I picked Mudkip.  (or are you talking about Norman?  aka your dad?)

It wasn't really a fight per say, you just shoot Lucien off of the edge of the spire thing. Heck, even if you don't, Reaver would actually do it FOR you.

I was talking about Wattson. The fact all of his mons except for his Voltorb have Shock Wave, Magneton is partially Steel type, and most of his mons will outspeed you most of the time... As for Flannery, she was really easy (Though her Torkoal's overheat HURT), and Norman honestly isn't even that hard. You just have to exploit the fact his Slaking can only attack once every 2 turns and it should be easy enough.

Oh yeah that's right.  :D forgot about that.  And Yeah I can see why it would be a disappointment.

Oh, yeah him.  He can be a jerk.  I think my most recent playthrough of Emerald I had to stop and do some level grinding before I beat him. And I HAD combusken too!  :P

Yep.

Imagine trying to do that with a Grovyle instead. It's ridiculously hard to beat him without any decent fighting, fire, or ground types.

Hmm... I mean you would resist his attacks.  Though I guess the duel steel typing on magneton wouldn't help.

Roblox's moderating system sucks, the customer service is dumb, the popular game is full of salty people, the catalog offers high prices for items, there are a lot of bots and scammers, it's not metered connection friendly, and many more. :glimmer:

Does that count? :adorkable:

But that makes surprisingly little difference in the damage Shock Wave ends up dealing. The Magneton could still two-shot my Grovyle easily even with the resistance.

Oh, just remember another thing.  On Disney Infinity, the fact that you have to have online connectivity to use the creative-a-toy that allows you to add dialog to your toyboxes.

Also, Skylanders Imaginators… The storyline.  :'(  Seriously, I enjoy the Skylanders series. But game 6 is really bad when they turned it into the current 'kids' cartoons where everything's a joke.  *sigh*

Ah.  But yeah, I've not done it with just Grovyle.  As I don't tend to pick him.

I usually pick Grovyle, especially in Emerald (the 8th gym AND the champion are BOTH water-type). I also pick Mudkip from time to time, but I basically never pick Torchic. With Grovyle, Wattson is literally the only part of the game I have real trouble with (well aside from Drake's Salamence, but taking Blizzard on something like an Exploud or a Tentacruel fixes that).

I pick Torchic cuz Blaziken is one of my favorite Pokémon.  And at one point, Combusken was my favorite Pokémon.. until... oh here's the next thing about 'bad parts about good games."

Pokémon Gen 6 and 7 ruined Combusken with their terriple 3D model of him.  His body/head is supposed to be a P but they made it a !... :glimmer:
