In Season 8, episode 6, "Surf and or Turf," the cutie mark crusaders meet a young hippogriff named Tarramar who is torn between living underwater in Seaquestria or on Mt Aries. 

You are a hippogriff, now, and you get to choose between living on land or in the water. Everygriff is making their decisions...

My question to you, my little ponies griffs, is what would you have chosen? Where would you want to live if you were a hippogriff? Why?

I, personally, would want to live in Seaquestria. I grew up next to water and can't live without it. It seems like such a beutiful and calming waterscape. Sure, there isn't much going on down there, but all the better. I prefer the darkness, anyway.

Well you're still next to water, you just don't go in it so much I guess.

I would choose to be a hippogriff. You can fly, have talons instead of hooves, there's a proud culture that's been put on hold for the better part of a generation and is just getting back on track. Seaquestria is the back up for survival. Aries will guide you towards progress. Under water not only is there not much to do, there's little to accomplish. Why live in a backwater community when your kind can be king of the mountain?

I would have chosen Mt. Aries because it would give me a better sense of freedom than Seaquestria.

Mt. Aries, because I have always been a much bigger fan of the sky than the sea. I've always dreamed of being free in the sky like a cloud.

I would choose Mt Aries for two main reasons. The first one being that I just don't like the idea of living underwater. It would feel sorta dark and isolating. Definitely not my kind of place. Second is that if I chose Mt Aries I would be able to fly. As I've stated many times, I love the concept of flight. I mean, my favorite creatures in the show are pegasi after all. And although not as cool as pegasi, hippogriffs do at least have the wings. So yeah, I would choose Mt Aries, mainly for the sake of flight.

I think both worlds have their charm and I would love them both. As someone obsessed with being airborne the life of a hippogrif is speaking much more to me, but I cannot help to want to explore the world under the sea too. I'm almost in Terramar's place here and couldn't decide. Well almost, If I have to I'd also choose Mt Aries.
