How do i insert media?

I was wondering how can I insert media from existing attachments or real from URL?

You mean like a photo? I think you can just go into your photos after you hit “Click to choose files”. If you want to send something from online, though, just find it’s original link (it’s most likely to work on art sharing sites like deviantArt) and copy and paste it and the picture should pop up once you hit submit.

You can either copy the link and paste it into the insert image from URL section or you can drag and drop the file to attach it.

@Phasereale Inserting an existing attachment means you get to upload a file you have attached before. To attach a file, you just have to click "choose files..." and select whatever you wish to upload.

Once, you have uploaded it, the file should appear in your "My Attachments" menu, and therefore you should be able to insert it into whatever post you are making.

^^ Click "Insert existing attachment" and it should show up with the files you have uploaded just like below.

As for inserting image from URLs, just copy the image address and paste it here:

Then just click "Insert into post" and the image should appear there.

I'm no expert, but hope this helps!

Some more information would be helpful. 

If you're on PC, you can insert existing attachments via button in the bottom right corner of the text editor:

You'll be asked which file out of the ones you uploaded in the past, you want to add to the post.

 

As from URL - does pasting the link not work? Just pasting the link should automatically convert that into an image / video after few seconds.

 

If you're posting from a device, that doesn't support WYSIWYG stuff, you can manually put BBCode to insert an image, for example:

[img=https://i.imgur.com/NU0CAOy.png]

There used to be a (manual) code for videos as well, but it is no longer supported.

Sorry to hijack this, but I don't want to make a new topic when my question is so similar, what do I do If there's no "drag files here to attach" thing? I just have the option to insert other media.

@TicTacKitKat It's because your account is relatively new. All you need to do is to make 5 posts, which will advance you to the "Muffin" rank (currently you have a "Blank Flank").

 5 POSTS 

This will unlock some new features, including the ability to use attachments.

 

 Note, that some sections, such as Welcoming Plaza do not increase your post count. Sections with that restriction have a note in their description.
