Feeling a mixture of depression, anxiety and sheer frustration. Frustration with the gaming community especially. Just seems like the gaming community is far too often hypocritical and it dampens my own excitement for new games coming out. It bothers me.

Sorry if this is too much for this thread, but I feel like keeping it real.

 

In less than a month, I'll turn 30. For a few people around here like @Fhaolan and @Jeric, this is a milestone or two behind, but I'll wager that I'm older than most people here. When I joined this forum and this fandom I was only 23. The new decade I'm about to enter loomed large throughout my 20s and shrunk as it grew near. What I thought would be comparable to entering my 20s or reaching the quarter century became trivial. I've done this before, I guess, so it's not such a big deal after all. But a lot has changed for me in the past two years. My social circle at home shrunk a lot due to people moving away, disagreements, time constraints, family and friends dying, etc. Eventually there was almost nothing left for me here. In early 2016 that began to change. Started finding more kindred spirits, getting involved in new crowds/communities, got a new girlfriend (we're still together and considering our options in buying a house). In the past few weeks, I started taking sertraline (generic Zoloft) for depression/anxiety that have plagued me since my earliest memories as a toddler. Finally, after 29 fucking years, the emotional cacophony of sadness, self-loathing, and fear, most of which weren't caused by anything or anybody and clawed at me constantly, is gone. Poof! The silence is deafening!

tl;dr - I feel great. Better than I have in a very long time.

Pretty lousy. One of the few good online friends I have is right, when others find out you're caring for someone who has a life changing illness many of them act like you're the one with it and it's contagious so they bail on you constantly. It's making me wonder why I wasted months and in some cases years getting to know these people.

I'm a tad frustrated because of an MLP episode, but a little bit happy because a man I sort of hate died recently. A little bit accomplished, because I worked hard on my project yesterday, and a little bit anxious, because of life (as always).

I'm also pretty sad lately. Someone I cherished from a band I like passed away a day or two ago. It hit me very hard because I had a few memories with him, you know? His name was Kyle Pavone, and he was 28.

Very frustrated with my state for the Republican governor candidate they elected. Seeing as my state is solid Republican, there's a snowball's chance in hell we won't be getting him as our governor. He is a Trumpican who attacked his opponent exclusively by saying he did not support Trump enough. That is where my state is right now, and it is ...well, I honestly have no words to describe how messed up it is. The state is even more dead to me, now. This might influence my family to move sooner.

Don’t you mean he will be your governor as your state is red  ?
