Well probably you have to name the island  / town as you start the game. It’s like all other animal crossing games, but for the island, it’s the same deal as GCN animal crossing island when you connect your gba to gcn for the first time you go to the island.

I'm going to name my island/town Bkej(Pronounced Kehj) after my reservation which, funny enough, is actually an island itself.  I think it fits this time.

There has been a rumor going around that new horizons data can't be transferred to another switch system. here's a related article

Anyway I do have some patterns to share, but they're not MLP related although some may not work in terms of the color so best result is used on GCN and wild world. City folk, not sure. If you're playing New leaf, you have to unlock the AR code for it in order to get the patterns by talking to sable everyday till you unlock it.. As of town tunes, well you can be creative on your own tune, but usually I just like to use a town tune that's created by other people. The exception was pocket camp since you can't change the tune.

I can understand if it's due to making sure it won't cause technical system problems as to why a single New Horizons Island is locked to a single system's ID number and cannot be transferred to another. Personally, I've had my Switch System since Launch day in March 2017 and kept it in good condition. I'm not worried.

 

At least, I know I can go digital rather than physical copy. This way, I won't have to change Game Cards everyday to check in on my Island

I was thinking about getting a digital copy. not after what happened to my physical copy of my new leaf. What happened to my physical copy of new leaf was that It wasn't loading so I decided to turn in the physical copy and started over from the digital copy so all that effort I got on physical copy was gone so compared to the digital copy I replaced with, I just did better than last time except for the flag pattern that I need to represent my town which I don't have or lost a QR code to it and remaking that pattern isn't possible due to colors and new pattern mechanics.

Not only the game will be coming out, but there's also a switch system that goes with it that has animal crossing new horizons design as well. Probably a bundle if i'm right.

Actually, I heard the game is not included with the Animal Crossing themed Nintendo Switch console and dock

Here's the video. Look up close on the Special Edition oval on the front of the box. I'm pretty sure it says game not included at something you would have to get separately from the Animal Crossing themed console and dock

It's about time they finally spilled the beans on the game!!!  I, for one, hope that there will be more cooking options.  I hope they show the hair options for our villagers, I want a mohawk but that might be too much of a reach.  I ALWAYS had to get it when I saw the wig in the store!!!  I know a lot of people don't like it when people pre-order a game but as soon as I noticed acnh on the store, I had to pre-order.

The museum looks AMAZING!!!!!!  I wanted to see more character creator but I guess they're holding off to give us a surprise?  We DID see a small second of it so I guess it's something?  The special characters look cute too, especially the red lizard, blivvy or something?  I know for a fact that I'm going to waste days renovating my town, it's great that we can place people's homes down instead of having them randomly move in while you aren't playing(destroying many a flower bed full of hybrids or knocking down special fruit trees).  I can't wait!!!!!!!!!

You need Nintendo switch online service membership to play online in AC NH, but to continue playing online in AC NH, you want to make sure the parental controls are off (or disabled). apparently we can't play online together if some of us here don't have online service membership and the timer on the parental controls are on due to time limit.

I hope AC PC will do a event to celebrate the release of AC NH, but hopefully we'll have some of their stuff from AC NH in AC PC.

Just gonna go ahead and say this: Fuck Nintendo. The Animal Crossing Direct was perfect, until they brought up the save data nonsense. Once again with one of their first part titles, they are refusing to let us backup our save data despite paying for their terrible online service and their "solution" to the problem that they are actively creating for us, is to let us restore our data ONCE. ONE TIME, in the case of our data being lost. That's it! One single time, and this also clearly means that they ARE backing up our data on their end, but they are holding it from us. 

Hey Nintendo, you should probably start realizing that this isn't the year 2006 anymore. Your stupidity is making you forget that we live in 2020. Nintendo is one of the most bafflingly stupid gaming companies in the world. I was so unbelievably excited for New Horizons, but this has hurt that to some extent. This is Nintendo being entirely anti-consumer and I hope they get a shit ton of backlash from this. They deserve that and more.

This game looks fantastic! I was already really looking forward to it, because the prospect of easy to place outdoor furniture as opposed to the clunky PWPs is just an incredible improvement and is something I have wanted since the GCN version. But then they went and also made the terrain customizable! Wow! Town design will be so fun!

I also think that the crafting and Nook Miles will provide more things to do and more incentive to keep on playing.

I heard that there was gonna be another animal crossing app that's made for NH. I do believe it's called NookLink and it's made for pattern designs, but yeah, you can design any patterns you want whether it would be anything Nintendo (or for you MLP fans, MLP) related so be creative on your pattern designs

Yep, there's going to be an app but you can only use it if you have a subscription though, at least I think?  You can voice chat, text and use QR codes from New Leaf.  I hope we can still use the online play if we don't have a phone that can properly connect to the internet(like my poor old phone can't connect to internet at all )

So I was unaware until now, but two new little trailers posted yesterday:

We get to see what the higher up levels of the town look like, which look really neat! Also, the camera angle on these is really unique in places and makes me wish we had that in gameplay because the game looks even more beautiful from a more horizontal view like that.

Most noticeable to me, though? In the Direct there was an ocarina shown if you paid close enough attention. In this trailer (the second one, I think?) you see the character actually playing it! I saw people speculating that it might be playable and I scoffed that off as fantasy, but it actually is true! God, I hope that the ocarina isn't the only wind instrument added. I fear it's just there because of Zelda, but AC has been lacking in wind instruments, and it's time for that to change! Considering how many keyboard, string, and percussion instruments there are, we should have a full wind ensemble of brass and woodwind instruments in the game at this point, in addition to world wind instruments.

But I went off on a tangent... It's playable. It's probably just a simple preset like when you 'play' instruments in the past ACs, but it would be neat if it played like in Zelda where you could actually choose the notes that play.
