“M-magic paint brush? I c-can’t do that, that was all imaginary!” Pencil shrieked in a panic at Thundy’s request. “I can reform the paper weapons into origami fighters and better weapons, though, just hang on!”

Pencil mustered all of the magical strength she could and merged all of the already-used paper products together. She used most of it to create origami warriors and the remains as paper cannons and small trébuches. She commanded the paper warriors to fire at the large crowd of birds and other various creatures. They were most likely outnumbered, but they at least helped with a portion of the fighters.

“You’ll know which creations are mine by the three-dimensional forms I gave them,” she said while continuing to make warriors and weapons. Indeed, unlike the flat paper birds and other various creatures, Pencil’s creations were more rounded and detailed. This gave them an extra bit of durability that the flat attackers lacked.

Pencil began to gasp and pant as she continued to exert herself. Never had she had to use this much magic at once before. Unlike the others, she was not gifted with an unmeasurable amount of endurance. She told herself to keep up her magic for as long as she could, but if the battle became too much, she may just have to leave her creations to their own devices.

"Here, quick." Thundy stated as he pulled out his Yu Gi Oh binder and pulled out a gladiator beast card that resembled a bear. It was Gladiator Beast Andal. Thundy gathered some electricity and summoned the beast, which stood before Pencil, looking down at her. "He's all yours to command. He's a physical fighter but is very strong. See if you can get him to throw large stones into the sky to take down foes in the air." Thundy stated. Andal awaited Pencil's command.

Suddenly, Thundy materialized a gigantic Yu-Gi-Oh bear for Pencil to command. She wasn’t sure how to communicate with it like she would her own creatures, but she figured her gestures would make some sense to the bear. She swung her arms in a throwing motion to get the bear to throw stones like Thundy suggested.

She also materialized a paper shield for the bear, in spite of the fatigue in her horn. She knew the bear was probably very powerful, but she wanted to make sure it was protected, As she continued to make throwing motions, she offered it her shield.

As Sundae was just about to approxch her father's grave, she suddenly stops, seeing a great shadow moving on the ground from the sky below. Curious, she looked up.

Her bocay of flowers hovering in the grasp of her magic landed on a nearby grave as she saw a flock of what it seems to be birds made out of her paper flew towards town. She was slack-jawed, unable to comprehend such sight. Awe quickly turn into surprise as she heard something hit the ground next to her, causing her to stumble backwards. It was an arrow, but where did it came from!?

However, before she could even react, another arrow buried itself into her chest. Sundae squealed out of fear, her adrenaline kicking in. She turned around and tries to gallop back to Friendshire as soon as she can, just as the origami ninjas began landing on the cemetery and giving chase to the lone unicorn mare.

...

Shadow was just walking, her destination just a few blocks away when arrows suddenly began raining down at the town. She cowered, putting her hooves over her head. She looked around and saw the population begin to panic, running in all directions looking for shelter. There was war.

Realizing what was happening, Shadow got up and flew to nearest pony “Sir, get inside a house. We are being invaded!” even as the origami invaders enter the Friendshire soil, Shadow decided to try to evacuate the locals to safety.

Amongst his fighting, Kronos hears Bluebell calling out to him. He pulls out his whip blade and wraps Bluebell with it, retracting her onto his beck before proceeding to fire an explosive fire blast towards the oncoming assailants.

“Watch your back!!” Kronos told Bluebell as he dropped his arsenal box and pulled out his enormous Nest of Bees he remodified to hold bigger payloads and unleashed a massive salvo of explosives into the stampede.

Andal took the shield and gave Pencil a nod. He then started to throw large stones into the air taking out some of the foes. "Yo Pencil! Think you can draw a catapult for us?" Thundy asked. He could make one appear but that would take the energy that he needed.

The doctors and nurses are scrambling, injecting Mayor White with various medications to try and keep him from completely going under. The head nurse is doing her best, but she can tell Chelsea is also donating round after round of her own healing powers. It's crazy, just as soon as it looks like his pulse is coming back, it goes back down again, and everyone is scrambling to do everything they can. The head nurse puts a hoof on Chelsea's shoulder, wanting to support her too.

A scream is heard outside the medical tent. Looking over, the entrance to the mayor's office is blocked off by two ophiotauruses and one cragadile up front. "You wretched MONSTERS!" One of the mayor's agents tries to attack, but the cragadile gives a very creepy roar while snapping its large jaw, taking a step or two forward. It's enough to make the agent and any others back off. But the monsters, they don't enter the office. Making their attackers back off was all they wanted? ...They're blocking the only exit out. They're choosing not to attack, but they don't want anyone to leave either.

@Windy Breeze

In the rest of the town, a similar story is being told for hospitals and medical buildings. The various monsters and paper ninjas aren't attacking these medical establishments, but they are also guarding all the entrances and exists. Patients in the hospitals will not be harmed, but no one is allowed it enter or exit.

@Kronos the Revenant

"...Yes, yes. That should work. All right, Kronos, let's... What? HEY!" Mayor Black was so distracted by his own thoughts of retreat that he was taken by surprised. Before he knows is, he feels the painful injection of syringes which causes him to scream in pain, and then he has some weird blood magic soldier. "Hey!! Have you lost your mind, Kronos?! I could have--" But Kronos' sudden explanation catches him off guard. He's a little beside himself. "What is this, a mutiny?! You can't excommunicate me from my own town!! GET BACK HERE, KRONOS!!!" But it's too late, he has gone off to do the more noble thing, to fight for this town.

@Dynamo Pad

Meeting up at the town square was good, but it's not a plan of action. It will mean nothing if the square is also over run with enemy forces, which it is. They need to do something more... And in Dynamo's moment of indecision, a voice calls out to him in his own head.
"Don't stop. Please, keep moving! Believe in yourself!" He knows that voice... It's Two Castles! The spirit of the VR machine that previously trapped him in a video game. "You have the Rider belt right there with you; use it!" The rather soft, innocent, child-like voice tells him.
"I know this is scary... It's more than you're use to... But if you don't fight now; your friends, your town, and everything you care about... They might not have a tomorrow! So please, if you don't want to live with regret, if you can't fight for yourself, then fight for them. Fight so that everybody can smile happily in the future. If you can find the courage to fight for others, then there's nothing you can't do. ...Do it for them! ....Do it for them...." The voice encourages him before fading away.

Perhaps that is the best course of action after all. Even if you gather all your friends, this is make or break hour now. There's almost no point in making plans anymore. You either take a stand and fight back, or you let them win. If you power through, you just might find an opportunity to seize victory. Which will you choose?

Debris and ash are floating through the air as buildings crumble.
Citizens panic and run, doing their best not get attacked, though some do.
A lost child looks up to the sky and cries her eyes out, clutching a stuffed doll and unable to find her parents.
Some pegasi along the tops the town walls are using harpoon and net guns, but when enemy forces pull them away, other ponies try to take their place as gunners.
Somewhere in his shopping district, Jon Surplus is waving innocent bystanders down. Turns out he has an underground bunker that can house thousands.

Somewhere, Trilby is seen grabbing as many things he can from his shop and running out. "No, no, no, no.... I gotta find her first! Shadow?! Shad--!!"
But Trilby doesn't get very far before he is ambushed by a bug bear and some origami ninjas. They overwhelm and silence him, dragging him into the shadows.
No one ever saw him get dragged away, and he failed to find Shadow Trail.

And while it seems fruitless, while it seems like 3 or 5 more pop up for every enemy defeated, this is hope... As the fights rage on, the clues begin to appear...
They have weaknesses.
Thanks mostly to citizens like Thundy and Kronos, it is soon discovered that each enemy has an achilles heal.

The origami ninjas that are raiding the skies and land? Burn them, but burn them fast! Leave no trace. If you aren't fast enough, they'll tear off the parts of their paper bodies that are burning and use what's left.
The bug bears? They are easily distracted by music. But don't let them get pick up the source of the music. They'll carry it off, and possibly crush it under their own strength.
The multi-headed chimeras? Each head has its own personality. If you can get them to argue or in-fight, they'll be so distracted with themselves that they'll forget all about the town.
The cragadiles? They are water-loving creatures. Too much heat will dry them out.
And the ophiotauruses? They're mostly just muscle and very little speed. Anything you can do to outsmart, confuse, or use their own strength against them is the best way to go.

...

But there is also a new development...

...

In one lot, as a few origami ninjas are setting up some kind of long, dark, tar-covered rod with various orbs and buttons sticking out of it; someone attacks them.
It's Daring Decor! And he just broke a table over their heads! Furthermore, he uses a chair to damage the black rod.
"Now you listen here, you miscreants! This is MY neighborhood! And while I may just be an over-glorified con artist, I'm not gonna sit back and...!!" But he is silenced when a ninja clobbers the back of his head with a heavy mallet, making him fall over.
The black rod from before? They replace it with a new one. They begin pressing buttons on it, and the rod begins to expand into some kind of metal construct.

Seems like this is what the enemy forces wanted!
In various places through the town where citizens have been driven away, and even in a few places just outside the town, the enemies are setting up these strange pillars, as if this was their real goal all along!
Whatever they are trying to build, it can't be good.

Thundy noticed the gap. He then charged up 10 wisps, one on each claw. “Move out! Here comes an ultra wisp!” Thundy called out as he leaped into the air and fired all the wisps. It burned a lot of the enemies.

Meanwhile, Chelsea was trying not to sob. “Everyone, if we come together, we could all help in stabilizing the Mayor. Dig deep inside, find that place and join as one. Division and chaos won’t win...” Chelsea proclaimed as she continued to let out her energy, signaling the nurses and staff to come together and share their energy with her so they could heal Mayor White together.

Sundae's fate is left vague as the town is broken by the chaos of the paper army, while Keen is peacefully in coma at her hospital room.

But for Shadow, she is running out of luck.

A mother and her daughter were lucky she saw them. She was confused, she kicked, she stomped, she bite, yet none of the invaders are dying. Yes, they're paper and they can be easily torn to pieces, but to kill them? Well, even the smallest piece is trying to stab her hooves.

She narrowly dodged a attack from a bugbear and made the decision to run. She only look forward, ignoring the bodies laying on the street. It broke her heart to see ponies murdered with no clear motive, but it was too late for them to be saved. Now, she has to save the ponies she cared about.

“Out of my way!” she didn't even think. She merely attacked, breaking up a struggle between an earth pony stallion and a ninja. She have to find Trilby, and the others Please be safe, Trilby she thought hopefully. Be-

Unfortunate for her, an arrow punctured her side. She toppled to the ground, letting out a scream.

Ahh...I can't....can't stop here. Trilby needs me!”

...

@PawelS

At the apartment, one Sundae Delight had been busy shooting spells at the invaders as residents flee. Whatever these things are, they are committing genocide, and while the population are no better than Celestia, she will not allow anyone to die, especially this town gave her loyal follower a shelter to live.

“Sundae, we have to go now!”

“Aren't you listening to what I said? I said go!” she yelled, her eyes trained at a ninja, “Go while you still can. I will catch up, I promise!” she could hear hoof beats behind her. She smiled. Now with those ponies now out of danger, Nightmare Moon will shall find Shadow Trail.

Two ponies try to do their best to fight against the invasion.

Nopony uses his magic to concentrate the thermal energy in the air, to burn the paper things. The town square is a good place to do this, because there are no buildings there that could catch fire. Some of the other creatures, that are unlucky to be close to the burning paper creations, get damaged by the fire too.

He tells Tree Song that the bugbears are distracted by music, and she figures out she can use her magic to manipulate the gusts of wind to sound like music, and confuse them. Some of them catch fire from the burning paper ninjas, but most are unharmed, only confused, so they will need to be dealt with eventually.

As Thundy flew back towards him, Dynamo gave a small nod. A way of letting the griffon know that he had heard him. "We have to go then. We have to secure Town Square as best as we can." He hated to leave Bluebell behind, but he knew she was strong due to yesterday's magic lessons. He just hoped that she would be okay. As they hurried on, he watched as Pencil managed to create paper-like warriors to help even the odds. It was almost as if she was using what she learned from the game. However, it looked like she was exerting herself. "D-Don't give up, Pencil. I know you can do it." He says, trying to encourage his friend to keep fighting. His ears perked at the sound of electricity crackling, before a giant bear had appeared. What seemed different, however, was that the bear was wearing arm gauntlets and armor. Taking a better look, Dynamo's eyes widened in realization. "I recognize this guy. I-It's Andal from the Gladiator Beasts. I remember pulling him from a pack once. I liked him for his strength and his cool design." He explained, giving a small smile as seeing Andal reassured him. "It's good to see you again, Andal." He says, knowing that Pencil would be in good hooves.

Debris and ash began floating through the air as buildings crumbled around them. Dynamo watched as the once peaceful town of Friendshire was slowly being turned to ruin. Everyone was panicking, monsters were invading and here he was just staying down with a feeling of weakness. Yet, here everyone else was still fighting. He was scared, feeling as if he was weak and not able to do anything. In his moment of indecisiveness, he looked up as he thought he had heard something. His eyes darting around rapidly, before realizing it was in his head. He soon recalled the voice from Two Castles. The same voice that had given him the game code. 'I-I want to use the belt, but I only have three uses. If I overuse it now, then I'll be left as useless.' He thought, feeling like he couldn't hold a candle to the others. He heard the voice continue as it's words resonated in Dynamo's heart. 'T-That's right. I-If I don't do anything now, then it's over. Everyone is fighting as hard as they can. If they are, then why can't I?' He slowly, but shakily rose to his hooves. His mane covering his eyes as he took a few shaky breaths. "I-I'm scared that I won't be able to be strong enough, but I-I have to try. I don't..." His mind flashed back to moments in his past, as well as everyone falling in the game world. "...I don't want to go through that again. I-I can't live with that kind of regret." He would say, his mind flashed to everyone he considered as a friend. From Pencil, to Thundy, to Chelsea, to Silver, to Shadow, to Trilby, to Samurai, and finally to Bluebell. He wanted to fight to make sure he could see them all again. He had to keep going, no matter what.

'Okay. I'll do it. I'll do it for them. T-Thank you...' He thought, the voice had finally faded away. Dynamo rose his head so that his eyes could be visible to all. Looking at the fights taking place, the gaming unicorn began to think of what to do. With a nod, he knew what power he needed. Placing the belt around his waist, he held out his front right hoof. His horn began to glow, before a Gashat had appeared. The only difference was that the Gashat cartridge seemed bigger and was coated with a red and light blue color palette. With a click of the button, the cartridge activated.

HANREI HANNEN!
(Half-Cold, Half-Hot)

Placing the cartridge in the Driver, he pulled the lever and allowed the power to take form.

GASHAT! GACHAN! DOUBLE UP!

You are not a prisoner of the past. It's okay to use this power. Never forget who you want to become. HANREI HANNEN!!

As a circle of panels appeared, Dynamo picked one of the few that was highlighted from his cartridge. Upon selecting it, the gaming unicorn found himself enveloped in a bright light. As the light faded, Dynamo had reappeared, but in a different outfit. His jacket was replaced with a full blue suit. Wrist gauntlets and white snow boots. There was even a white backpack and his belt had stayed the same. With a deep breath, he let out a sigh that anyone who saw would see his breath. It wasn't as cold, but it was due to his power. If one had noticed, they would see that he had a bit of flames and ice emanating from separate sides of him respectively.

Spoiler

myhero02_101.jpg

As he looked to the sky, he could see more birds and paper ninja. While on the ground, he could see cragadiles trying to surround everyone. "Hey, Nopony. Do you need some help in the air?" He would ask, throwing his front left hoof to the air. Allowing him to launch a torrent of flames at the paper birds and effectively incinerating some of them. Turning around quickly, he looked at the cragadiles, while he was ready to fight.

Andal looked at Dynamo and nodded with approval before he continued to throw rocks at the enemies.

Thundy drew back and closed his eyes. He went into a deep place and his body began to glow. A flash of light occured and once the flash dissipated, Thundy was revealed in Trunks' present outfit, with the jacket, pants, belt, sword and hilt. Thundy moved his talons in a rapid motion then placed them in a triangular shape. "Burning attack!" He shouted. He let loose a massive fireball that damaged enemies. He then took out his sword and gripped it tightly. He concentrated energy and it morphed into a flaming sword. He charged and started to slash enemies in numbers.

Pencil, now slightly safer from the bear Aland, was able to give herself the time to create a paper catapult for Thundy. It was very meticulous and she had to think hard on certain details since she was not used to creating more ancient machines. She wanted to make sure that the catapult had the power to launch giant pieces of paper if it wanted to. After carefully designing the thin strings on the back of the machine, the catapult was ready for usage.

“The machine automatically launches things, it just needs paper ammo,” she told the group.

She worked on balling up old attack paper until each ball was big enough to fill up the correct amount of space in the catapult. She grunted as she heaved the first ball in. She quickly stepped back because the machine activated as soon as the ball touched it. She looked up and saw it aim towards some of the paper birds and a couple of chimeras.

A few flashes of light flashed in the sky, making Pencil curious. She glanced up and saw Dynamo and Thundy using their full, or at least what she considered to be full, powers. If she wasn’t so out of breath, she would cheer for them.

Looking towards the cragadiles, Dynamo's ears perked as he heard the name of a familiar move. Glancing behind him, he closed his eyes slightly as there was a small explosion. He slowly opened his eyes back up to see the results of the attack. Dynamo grinned as Thundy had transformed into Trunks, before he started going off towards the other enemies. He wanted to admit that Thundy made an awesome choice, but he knew they had to keep up the fight. At the very least, they were starting to clear the air. Even if more enemies were starting to take their place. Taking notice of Pencil, he saw that the purple unicorn mare had finished creating a paper catapult. Just then, Dynamo had a certain thought of the weapon. "Hey, Pencil? Is that thing able to launch something like, say, ice?" He wondered, launching a stream of flames at the cragadiles. Effectively making them hiss and growl from provoking them. He had an idea in mind, but he wanted to make sure on some things first.

Dynamo blinked as he heard Thundy's thoughts. He looked to the griffon in question, but noticed that he was still fighting. However, it seemed that he managed to speak telepathically. "I don't think I'll ever understand how he's able to do that." He muttered, nodding as it seemed his plan might work. Taking a step with his right, a small pillar of ice was forged. "Andal!" He called out to the giant bear, while pointing to the ice. "I need you to use your gauntlets and start wailing on this pillar. If you turn the pillar into ice chunks, then they can be used for the catapult." He knew that if the ice was used as a launcher, then it could hit the enemies that were in the air. Effectively helping anyone who was trying to attack anything, while still on the ground. Turning his attention back to the cragadiles, Dynamo wondered if there was something he could do to take these things down. "Hey, Thundy? Have you ever seen a taken on a cragadile before? How can we fight these things?"

Andal pummeled the large ice block, shattering it into usable pieces. He let out a roar letting Dynamo that they were ready. "

Looking back as he heard the roar, Dynamo smiled as the ice block shattered into pieces. "Excellent. Thank you, Andal." He would say, giving a hoof version of a thumb's up to the giant bear. "Pencil!" He called out to her, while he kept his focus on the cragadiles. "I gave you some ice. You can use that for the catapult if you need or run out of ammo." He explained, wanting to help out the others as best as he could. He clicked his tongue as Thundy didn't have an answer. He couldn't blame the griffon as he hadn't seen this creature either. Thinking back, he remembered that the rock creatures hissed when they felt his flames. His eyes widening, he realized what had to be done. "That's it." He uttered, before he his arms began to heat up with dancing flames. "Thundy! Give me some heat and back me up, okay!?" He called out to the griffon, while knowing that the paper ninja might try to attack him. Now knowing that he had figured it out.

"On it!" Thundy called out as he summoned a fireball in his talon landing beside Dynamo. He tossed his sword in the air and split the fireball into two, one in each talon. He tossed a fireball at Dynamo. "That's yours Dynamo, use it!" He called out before throwing the second at his sword. The sword morphed into the flaming sword designed like Roy's from Fire Emblem. In fact, Thundy was now sporting the golden armor like Roy's. He was still in his SSJ form.

“Thanks, Dynamo!” she exclaimed to the blue unicorn who had generously provided her with better ammo.

The ice would give her horn plenty of time to rest and create a larger impact on the enemies. Pencil was a bit worried at first that she wouldn’t be able to carry the ice, but thankfully, Andal broke the chunks up into pieces which were easy to carry. Pencil practically threw the ice pieces onto the catapult and watched them soar towards their targets.

As Thundy landed next to Dynamo, he watched as the griffon managed to split the fireball in two. He used his horn to keep the flame afloat in a levitation spell. "Thanks. I was thinking more of attacking the cragadiles and then I add onto the firepower, but this helps." He says, still appreciative of the griffon's help. Getting into position, he tossed the fireball at the group of cragadiles. Once it was within the vicinity, he launched another shot of flames, before the fireball exploded around the rock based crocodiles. They looked ready to fall apart at any moment. He stopped his moment of celebration as he saw a lost child look towards the sky as she cried her eyes out. What the child didn't realize was that another cragadile that wasn't within the group, was making it's way over towards her. "No!" He began charging towards the child and cragadile, but he was much too slow. 'I'm not fast enough. I could switch to Deku or Iida, but I can't waste my transformations.' He thought, his movements slowing as if time was coming to a standstill. 'No. I-I can't let others get hurt. If there's one thing I need to do. I need to move faster. I need to become faster. Please...please!'

Without warning, he started falling forward, but he never hit the ground. Instead, he turned into an orb as he began to spin wildly. The orb stayed on the ground for a brief moment, before being launched towards the child and cragadile. All the while, taking out all the other cragadiles that were burned from before. As it spun, the orb carved a trail of blaze in it's path, before leaping into the air. The ball quickly dropped like a meteor, before slamming into the cragadile. As the ball un-morphed, the one behind it was Dynamo as he slid back a few feet to stand before the lost child. Using his ice, he created a wall to keep the child safe, while also cooling down his heat. "Sorry, but no way." He narrowed his eyes as the cragadile snarled. Dynamo pulled his left front hoof back, before throwing it forward. "Flashfire First: Jet Kindling!" As he punched the cragadile on the snout, the point he punched turned the snout white hot. Just then, an explosion of flames rushed forth and burned up the target. Taking a knee, he panted slightly as he looked at his front hooves. "H-How did I do that?" He wondered, looking back to where he was previously. Did he teleport, or did he actually travel at fast speeds? He wasn't sure, but he was thankful that he was able to save the lost child. Speaking of which, he turned as he got up, before walking over towards her. "Shh...it's okay. We're here and and we're going to help you. What's troubling you?" He asks, while making sure that nobody else would attack them.

Thundy saw as the whole transformation unfolded. "Sweetness. He's getting better every time." He said to himself. He then noticed a cragdile headed for an olden pony. "Oh no you don't!" He called out as he charged towards the cragdile. With his armor, he was a little slower, therefore, he made a pokeball appear, and power binded with it. He was sucked into the ball and one second later, out he came as infernape. He went into a flame charge/flame wheel combo, barrelling towards the cragdile. He slammed hard into the beast, which caused it to shatter into a million pieces. He reversed the transformation and helped the olden pony to a safe place, before returning to Dynamo's side. "Gah, there's so many. Ooh I hope Chelsea could come here soon...wait a minute..." Thundy thought.

Kronos barely heard what Bluebell asked over all the commotion occurring around him. When he found a small amount of respite, he turned to her and replied “All the townsfolk are being evacuated. Follow where they’re going and you’ll be safe. Umm, here take this.” He gave Bluebell a lightweight but durable plate of Eternium to place on her back.

“GO GO GO!!!” he shouted as he continued to fight more of the paper army.

@Dynamo Pad

Bluebell jumped down, quickly strapped the plate to her back and ran as fast as she could, her eyes darting around for some sign of where to go.  She felt the ground leave her feet, and she fell down a hole, and landed on a hard floor.   "Ow!"  She got back up, and looked around.   Her pendant started to glow, lighting up a long hallway.  "I hope this is it," she thought.   She steeled herself, and started running into the dark.  "D-d-d-Dynamo," she said, If you're-you're there, p-p-please, find me!
