MLP toy sales reportedly peaked in 2013-2014, so I'd assume toys based off the Crystal Empire and Equestria Girls are what were most popular then.

I had a hard time finding accurate information on this, but one certainty is that digital merchandise sells the best now, since most people aren't buying physical toys anymore.

Do you mean stuff like in-app purchases like in the MLP Gameloft game? I suppose that could also mean people who don't get Discovery Family on their TV buying MLP episodes on sites like YouTube or something. I just can't think of a whole lot that would sell really good but be completely digital, as I feel like most merchandise of like, any franchise is usually physical items like little figurines and such (Unless your talking about just generally buying stuff online, then yes I could defiantly see why online sales would be more popular, the internet is the future and big box physical stores are not)
