Fridge with WiFi. Just why? Why would I want to control the fridge remotely?

AC with internet connection is understandable, I may want to set it to higher temperature when going on vacation and then back to normal a day before I return (even though I would not use a device that goes trough the "cloud"). But fridge?

Projectors have their uses. Projectors are more portable (try carrying a 1.2m TV with you for presentations) and in some cases cheaper. If I wanted a 3 meter wide screen, even if I could get a TV that big, it would be insanely expensive and probably impossible to get into the room,

There are many inventions I can think of, yet truly I believe one should actually learn to appreciate the amount of passion the inventor must have had for their product or invention. Not only did they invent it, they also created it they marketed it and try to sell it I mean you know of the invention which already speaks true to their success.

Though to answer, well I'd say something recent would be the dual screen foldable phone while I do see the appeal of it. I can't think of much practicality of it as I mean when you use a smartphone you typically don't do so because of the large screen and if anything it sounds like a recipe for failure of the components regarding the screen connected to the main system although I can think of solutions for that. Reality is, phones need to not only be durable they also must be practical while remaining relatively affordable and dual screen phones for obvious reason are not. 

Then also a recent invention would be the whole making your home smarter by connecting every device somehow. While I do see the novelty of it this simply doesn't really offer much other then to monitor things you did not know you monitored?
