Smash is all about video games characters, but I would love to see ponies there, naturally.

The most logical choices would be characters from Nintendo's own franchises given the red tape needed to be overcome regarding third parties. I have often considered Mona from the Wario Ware series as a potential fighter though I wouldn't know how she could be implemented. Maybe a female from Fire Emblem but who is old school, as in from an earlier entry in the series, like Celica for example or perhaps give Lyn a chance to do something.

It would be pretty interesting to see Monika from DDLC, although Team Salvado would have to beat Nintendo in a Smash Brawl in order for that to work.
