I dont know why, i would say that its the greatest cartoon ever but that would be a lie because lets face it (blasphemy alert blasphemy alert those who have a heavy devotion to MLP plz dont look in the spoilers)

but if you compear MLP to the older classics like Animaniacs, Tiny Toons and Freakazoid.

MLP isn't in the same class

I love MLP just like I love any other great cartooon. What I didn't understand was why such a huge deal was made over guys liking it. When I saw the way Fox news reacted, or the way others treated people who watched the show, I got indignant. I do not like being told by others what I should like or shouldn't like(I also do not like giving the impression that others CAN tell me what I should like or shouldn't like.). Then I saw there was a brony community. I figured the least I could do was standing up and making the herd at least one person larger.

Where do I start in describing why I love MLP? If I could, I'd probably end up writing a novel of all the things great about the show. Personally for me it's all about the characters, I mean each of the mane 6 have such unique character traits that I would be hard-pressed to find any brony that doesn't like any of them. Then again I've been proven wrong before. Of course the mane 6 aren't without their flaws, but that's what makes them relate-able as compared to other shows aimed at a younger audience. Take for instance Twilight who is normally the voice of reason, freaks out over not learning anything about friendship. Or perhaps the time when Applejack wouldn't ask for help in apple-bucking because she was too full of pride to ask her friends(I could be wrong on this one...). To me these characters are more real (in terms of character) than most shows on television.

Interesting characters.

Awesome music made into awesome remixes.

Simple yet important lessons that even apply to my own life.

A friendly community of fans to share the enjoyment and simply chill out with.

^ Some of the reasons I love MLP ^

I love MLp because the show is like taking a happy pill: It cheers you up when your down. :)

Another reason is the show itself. It's different from most little girls shows you see out there (believe me). It's more mature for them, and fun at the same time. The pony just seem to grow into your heart after each episode. The songs in the show are also spectacular, and I can tell that the creators put a lot of effort into the show. I have been a fan of Powerpuff Girls and Dexter's Labratory so I makes it even better.

Other than that, everyone else is right. The characters are so fun, the show is fun, and I'm glad to be a Pegasister! :D

Honestly, I used to be a hater. My brother kept talking about my little pony and I was like wow. but then one night I was board and decided I'd give it a try. Turns out the next day my parents were going to be gone for five hours so I decided that I would watch it. Ive been hooked to this show like crazy. and I dont want It to fade anytime soon. oh, and I love it because of the Dashie

Well ,first of all the innocence of the show, it gives you a break of all the horrible things that are going on in the world right now, I mean watching colourful cute ponies going on epic adventures, whats not to like?!

Also the characters and their diverse personalities, really makes it watchable, and keeps it interesting. Without those kind of things, it just wouldn't work. Not to mention the great animation and stories.

Overall because it makes me happy and gives a bit of a feeling of peace in me, That you may not get the feeling from in other cartoons.

There are a number of reasons why the show is likable. I enjoy how it doesn't treat the children watching it like complete idiots. That's always a good thing. The characters all have very developed personalities, and the storylines behind most episodes are exquisite. Their writer has great talents, for sure.

Not to mention the appealing look of the animations. It's so smooth and nice... Much better than most cartoons you'll see these days.

Well I don't know... Maybe it's the story, or the animations?

No, now I know, it's because it's...

But to be more serious.

The show never fails to put a smile on my face. When I'm feeling down I can always count on my ponies to cheer me up :D

Other than that it's all the small parts who make it so great.

It has great characters who complement each other well

The voice actors are astonishing.

The story is (mostly) very well written.

It has lots of humor.

It has great well made songs with great singers.

The animations are great.

And most of all, you feel good watching it.

So I guess you only can say that it's: "So awesome!"

A mixture of great animation, well-developed characters, humor, good story, life lessons... etc.

plus a great community of fans just make this show awesome. Even though I was forced to watch it at first,

and had a very pessimistic view about FiM, I still found myself hooked by the 5th or 6th episode.

Friendship is Magic is a genuinely great show, especially when compared to all the crap most people watch.

That's why I will always be a brony, no matter how many people judge me or the show.

I 'unno... I've never really been brought to tears to anything besides MLP as a gamer I really cant get too emotional due to trash talkers ^.^ allthough in my dull emotionless gaming MLP always brings a smile to my face or a tear to my eye. I stumbled upon MLP Via. meme base and i cautiously clicked on the MLP section. I'm always up to try something but i tended to stay away from the MLP scene. but I was bored that day and after browsing a few pages i decided to get give the series a shot and i was hooked after 3 episodes.

1. The show is mature, unlike things like Spongebob that are meant to be purely laughed at, MLP:FiM is actually emotional, and even has some extremely touching and meaningful scenes. I do not cry easily. But I was almost to tears at the end of S1E23: "Cutie Mark Chronicles". I mean, what other cartoon would cover six friends trying to find meaning in life, who were all connected in such ways?

1b. - Part of the maturity is the story and backstory. I was extremely cynical, but open-minded, and when I saw the opening to S1E1, with this epic backstory of god-like entities, the writers had grabbed my attention. When I saw them fight the manticore, I was convinced this wasn't the crappy little kids show I thought it'd be.

2. The characters and characterization is amazing. Especially Twilight Sparkle; she is someone I can definitely relate to very well. She mirrored a lot of my reactions in the first episode, and as such I was both tied to her, and I kept watching. If it wasn't for Twilight and her characterization, I would not be here right now. But the best part is the rest of the cast, the characters are all so extremely diverse, yet well characterized, that the interactions, which are the substance of all fiction, are extremely entertaining. Some might accuse them of being "charicature characters", with single traits overblown, and unrealistically rich, but that's something Charles Dickens often did, it's accepted as good literature/fiction form.

3. The voice acting. It's one of those things, that when it's done well, you tend to forget about it. And I forget about it. When I watch it, it almost never occurs to me, that instead of actual characters talking, they're animations paired with recorded voices. I can never tell. That means it's exquisite, and on top of that, it's very well done even beyond that.

4. The stories. I don't know how the heck they do it, but they make "slice of life" emotional and interesting.

Given the single-sentence synopsis of different episodes: "S1E9 'Look Before You Sleep': A sleepover at Twilight's.", "'Baby Cakes': Pinkie Pie learns responsibility while babysitting the Cake's two children", "'The Best Night Ever': They go to the Gala and things don't go right".

If I were given those as a writer, I'd trash them as uninteresting and not enough conflict. Yet, somehow, it boggles my mind, they manage to do those with plenty of conflict, interesting, emotional, and yet not meladramatic. I can't emphasize how much it blows my mind, everything in my says that that's utterly impossible, yet they somehow pull it off. I think it may be because of the aforementioned things.

5. The Music. It's Broadway quality stuff, really. Need I say more? You all know. And the soundtrack is almost as good as that.

6. The setting. It's a rich, somewhat deep, and amazing milieu they've constructed. It's something that befits Lord of the Rings in it's epic and rich style. It may not be quiet as deep (like LoTR having it's own Elven language), but i'd say it's even more fantastic, rich, and yet believable.

It's something that really changes you on the inside. It also reminds me of all the Lauren Faust cartoons that I enjoyed when I was younger. I even enjoyed powerpuff girls and this is coming from a guy.

Besides MLP:FiM is the definition of friendship is awesome!

The thing that really shocked me about the show is well it is written and how it not only appeals to a certain audience. Every character has a unique personality and not a single one of the characters are boring. The show is hilarious combined with so many other great things what are your thoughts?
