Pinkamena w/ Gun and Knife Lol

So here is one example of something that I just recently did. Pinkamena with shotgun and knife. I would upload more, but this image is frickin' big as is and this post would be enormous. Still trying to figure out this forum. So yeah I draw ponies in a very stylized way. I'm no pro and I probably kind of suck, but I try. Feel free to give me a critique or helpful advice if you would.

My critique:

  • Her nose is pointed upwards way too high. It makes her look extremely odd.
  • Her eyes are wrong. Even when she is Pinkamena, she always has wide open eyes. Slightly closed is just... wrong.
  • Her hoof is really skiiny for some reason, then widens out.
  • The knife is actually very good.
  • That looks like a duke nukem shotgun. HURHURHUR<jokes>
  • Her tail is just... odd looking. Why is it so sharp?
  • I like the way you did her cutie mark.
  • Her pelvis... just seems weird.

Pretty good pic, but very weird.

Ah you gave some very valid points. I will certainly agree that some of my proportions are pretty wonky now that you point it out to me.

 

Also yes my style of drawing ponies is very different. I'm pretty sure that not everypony will like it. And thanks for the critique, it really helps me out ;)

that looks nothing like the duke nukem shotgun, the duke nukem shotgun does not have a magizene, the DN shotgun also has a foregrip attached to the pump

 

(i know it was a joke, but for some reason i felt the need to correct you XD)

I like this picture! It's so original! So I find it perfect in the style it's drawn in!

@Skull well I did not have Duke Nukem in mind when I drew that shotgun. I think the last DN game I played was on the N64 and I believe he had the Spas 12 or something. I just kind of came up with a magazine fed shotgun as that seemed a bit easier for ponies to reload hehe.

@Skull well I did not have Duke Nukem in mind when I drew that shotgun. I think the last DN game I played was on the N64 and I believe he had the Spas 12 or something. I just kind of came up with a magazine fed shotgun as that seemed a bit easier for ponies to reload hehe.

crona brought it up, ive played duke 3D and forever, i have this (bad?) habit of correcting people when they are mistaken

I read some of the critics’ reviews (Crona’s first, naturally), and I can only agree on one thing: this is an amazing picture.

 

The eyes are a bit smaller than one would think, but once you get to thinking, she’s menacing as Pinkamena. She’s gonna have smaller eyes, they’ll look smaller.

 

The nose is one of someone looking down upon others, is it not? She is a intelligent criminal, a feature I love personally. She’ll be mean, and maybe judge you before the kill--if you whine and cry (much like Rainbow Dash) begging her to leave and go home. It’s natural.

 

The rest of it, top notch, too notch. I love your dark style, it suits Pinkamena. She’d be proud of you.

I think it looks awesome, but I don't really like the eyes, and there's something about her nose that just looks weird ..... I can't put my finger on it .. perhaps too wide?

i looked at the mark (cutie mark, pony mark, I am not sure what to call it, someone plz tell me) and it looks like it means she is the best at partying. Yeah, have the party where everyone is shot. It is excelent

@PinkiePieIsBestPony Thank you so much for your comment. I mean seriously it made my day hehe. I'm just happy that you looked into it that much. I am kind of going for a darker and edgier style with my ponies so it makes me feel great that you thought that it was so. Also if Pinkamena would be proud of me... Best thought ever hehe.

 

@Mr. Pillow Thanks ;) I was trying to portray her as such. The kind of badassery that you would see from someone who kills zombies or something of that sort.

 

@morethanicecream Cutie Mark is the word you are looking for. And yes she is Pinkie Pie after all. The pony who throws a ton of parties for everypony. I guess in the case of the picture it would be more of a knife or gun party if ya know what I mean hehe.

 

@The Pyro Thanks ;) These are perhaps the two biggest distinguishing factors of my style of pony. The eyes I can agree could be worked around with, but I like the snout/nose like it is. I might mess around with it a bit, but I think that I like the look of the round snout myself.

 

@Chaos Thank you very much ;) It seems that the nose seems a bit big for most people so I may just mess around with and make it a little smaller perhaps. I'm sticking with the round shape though. I quite like that myself hehe

Ya, I understood what you mean. I'm pretty sure the only ponies that would show up for Pinkie Pies party are Rainbow Dash, Applebuck, and Scooterloo. Twillight Sparkle would probably read about guns, knives, and how to be safe with them. She would then lecture all the people at the party on how dangerous each weapon is. Then Rarity would be a party pooper and ruin it saying to everypony you have to be more 'lady like'. Pinkie Pie would at least probably kill everyone because she got her hands on 'stabby and superduper pointy objects' and 'weapons that go boom'. Also Flutershy would skip town. Hmm, this seems like an awesome episode. Maybe the episode could end by Twilight Sparkle writing an letter to the princess saying that Pinkie Pie learned a valuable lesson and that killing your friends is a nono.

This looks like the box art for some zombie killing pony game. Just make the background more darkly themed and add some stupid zombie pun as the title :P
