Hard to tell either way, but like what's said, I don't think they'd leave fans to find a hint towards season 3 in a promotional image.

Le gasp, that must mean that the Chicken will learn to fly, and earn her Cutie Mark, along with the rest of the CMC, too bad that is highly unlikely to happen. The artist must've assumed, she is a pegasus, she flies, so made her fly. Plus, Nightmare Moon is there, and Trixie, and Derpy!

They did it last year with the Comic-con poster they sold. Pipsqueak from "Luna Eclipsed" was in a balloon in the background.

Except that the poses those characters are in are as they are seen in the show. Scootaloo hasn't been in the poses she's displaying in any episode that she's been in.

Whether a hint or not, I don't see Scootaloo learning to finally fly in season 3 being a big surprise. If it is so, my big hope is Dash has something to do with it >w> Scootalove needs to have it's own episode, or at least some cute moments in season 3. It simply must.

It's a promotional image, so I highly doubt it's dropping any major hints about season three. If that were the case, we should expect the return of Night Mare Moon and Queen Chrysalis.

Occurrence 1: It as in 'if her learning to fly does happen, my big hope is Dash has something to do with it'.

Occurrence 2: It as in, again, the subject of her learning to fly.

Occurrence 3: It as in 'Scootalove needs to happen, it must.'

'It's' just for good measure: I said Scootalove, not Scootaloo. Which is a concept, not the character :3 Ergo, 'it's' is most appropriate.

 

Exactly where did I refer to Scoot as 'it' again? Enlighten me, silly filly Mesa thinkin' you misreadin' my posts, betcha betcha.
