Your darkest fears

Johny Farenheit

Recommended Posts

I have one fear, which my conscious, rational mind acknowledges as foolish: For others to think less of me because of my own actions. As a result of this, I've struggled with shyness/bashfulness for my entire life.

But that's it, I'm really not scared of anything else. Death? I laugh in your face!

I have an irrational far of meeting strangers. Agoraphobia, I think that's what it's called.

Agoraphobia is the irrational fear of crowded places. I'm not sure what a fear of meeting strangers is, probably just shyness.

Cows. Seriously. They are terrifying.

The world's largest spider, the South American Bird Eater, is about as big as a dinner plate.

The Chianina is the largest cow breed. A full grown bull can grow over 6 feet, and are about 3,500 lbs of muscle.

You can step on a spider and squish it with your shoes. If you stepped on this thing, it would spear you through the chest and fling you in the air.

My biggest fear is becoming more forgetful as I get older.  When anyone gets in their 60s or above, their memories begin to go.  This is my biggest fear because, life is short and if you don't remember what good times you have, whether it be going to conventions to meet people of similar interests, dating, or having a family, life will feel like it is not worth living. Since if you don't remeber the good times, your family, your friends.... then you wonder what it is like to live at all.

I fear that one day I would get Amnesia from old age or Alzhemiers Disease, cause it might make me lose the one thing I value the most, which is.................GOOD MEMORIES!!!!

I have a lot of common fears (drowning, et cetera), but one thing that consistently freaks me out is moths. Also butterflies. I know it sounds ridiculous, but...well, bees, hornets, wasps, flies...they are all annoying and worrisome, what with the painful stingers and all, plus horsefly bites are just awful. But they have one thing going for them: Sound. You can hear them coming, you know when they are near, because of the buzzing. They are like bombing planes. Yeah, you might not be able to avoid them, but at least you can try, and failing that, you can prepare yourself.

Moths and butterflies, on the other hand, are generally much larger than bees or flies, and completely FUCKING SILENT. One second, I'm out on the porch reading a book and enjoying a cigarette, and the next moment some huge, fluttering monstrosity is attempting to make icky insect love to my face. It's creepy and oddly terrifying when I'm not expecting it.

Water, I'm not scared of pools or streams or swimming, but lakes, ponds, rivers, and mostly stuff that I can't see the bottom of. Super clear springs that are hundreds of feet deep terrify me too though so it's not just stuff I can't see. And don't even get me started on the ocean, so much nope.

When the mob and the press and the whole world tell you to move,
your job is to plant yourself like a tree next to the river of truth, and tell the whole world
"No, you move."

I thought "hydrophobia" when I read this, but that's rabies, lol. Aquaphobia is what you have.

Choking on a hard candy and dying. Hands down my biggest fear. Seriously, how crappy of a way to go would that be, because as you're dying you'd know that if only you didn't have that urge to have one more candy, or if only your buddy didn't have to pat you on the back so hard, or if only you remembered that lesson on giving yourself the heimlich maneuver you learned so long ago. If only. And then you'd be gone... this freaks me out just talking about it.

Spider's. I hate spider's. I am also scared of the dark because I read scary stories so the night terrifies me.  I hate going in front of a crowd. And dying. I have no clue what is on the other side. It scares me cause every time I ever think about I see nothing but the dark. And flickering lights in a dark hallway. WHO THE HELL THOUGHT OF THAT TYPE OF SHIT!!! (sorry for the language) And just about every kind of bug in the Earth. And that bugs will be like the size of small dogs, which makes me shake in my socks. Yeah, so I'm watching you bugs. You hear me!? :okiedokielokie:

I have a fear of roller coasters and darkness combined together. I am scared of heights. Spiders and rats and bees\wasps and dogs. I have a fear of people being mad at me. I fear being alone for the rest of my life. I have a fear of driving through the ghetto part of cities. I have a fear of talking to new people, I'm getting better at this one but the fear is still there.

I have a lot of fears. It is messed up but they are things I need to get past eventually even if I have no idea how. :)

The idea of being awake and feeling your heart stopping. That few moments of terror when you relize that your body is shutting down and that is it. *Shudders* I don't even want to think of what that would be like in someone's head.

Hey there! It looks like a thread already exists for this topic, so I've merged yours with that one. In the future, please run a search before creating a new thread. Thanks! :)

Does sharks count?

They're sneaky and they're brutal. Getting slowly ripped apart while drowning is not excactly the most pleasant way to go.

It doesn't make it better that you have a major disadvantage if you meet them. Wheras you're slow, cumbersome and clueless of your wherabouts in the water, sharks know the ocean inn and out and have the strength, speed and agility advantage.

And yet people claim coconuts and road trips are scarier...

My biggest fears are cockroaches, and someone I love dying.

I wouldn't call the roach thing a fear, more of a phobia. I can't even stand to type the word. Eugh. I see one, I am screaming and gone. (Once, my scream was so blood curdling and terrible, my brother thought there was a murderer in the house) I can't even stand to see a picture or animation of one.

I am also scared of thunderstorms, like the really bad kind with tons of rain, loud thunder, and it's really only scary if there's lightning. I can't be alone during one or I'll freak out. Also, it's a little embarrassing, but I'm afraid of the dark :\ When I go to bed, I have to have a video on or my iPod/ phone. I don't go near the woods (next to my house) and stay close to my house at night. (When I take my dog out)

Surgery, of any kind at all.

I've always had the fear of my body not naturally falling asleep at my own will, and people digging around inside my body.

Just thinking of the idea scares me.

I have entomophobia and arachnophobia.

But the biggest thing I fear is people's opinions.

What I wear, what I say, what I like, what I do, and how people will see it.

My darkest fear is that something will happen to my mind.

I suppose my darkest fear is the unknown.......

Fascinating. I think that I might be the opposite.

Sig made by Kyoshi.

Cool things people have said about me:

Never heard of him but I guess just you mentioning him is a good reason not to go anywhere near that name.

(In reference to an author I suggested.)

I have a few... but I guess the immiedate sum of my darkest fear...would be losing another loved one, whether that be my husband, my mother, the kids in my family...

Oddly I was talking with my niece while we were having a day out today, when the topic came up of what would happen if we lost of them kids...

I immediatly said "You know...that would be awful...You kids are the best out of us...You have inherieted everything that is good from my sisters, my brothers, your father, myself...our whole family! You are our family's future, our legacy, that will carry on our name and make this world a better place... to lose you would be devestating..."

That's a dark fear of mine.

I'm just a silly little alicorn, trying to get by in the fandom ^^

My greatest fear is...

... fear itself, to be completely honest. I have not experienced anything fearful enough to cause a phobia, and I've nearly died twice, so fear of death is out of the question...

I guess I have no fear, save fear itself.

"Time is just an illusionary factoid that all natural things are bound to. It has the power to crumble even the mightiest of mountains into little more than dust, yet if it is an illusion, why is this so? Because people waste a lot of time, only wishing they had more. Little do people realize an inescapable fact: Time governs those who wish they had more of it. By wishing you could use it better, you govern time, and you can get all the time you'll ever need." — Starfall, Quillwaver

I'm really fearful of hornets and failure.

Hornets: I think that they are useless bugs. I don't see them pollinating or contributing to life in the world, unlike bumblebees. If anything, all they like to do is try to sting other things, and it doesn't matter what it is. They defend themselves, but it's usually for an unnecessary reason. They aren't like bees, oh no. They are insects with anger management problems, and they would sting you for anything. They swarm the front of my house, and they keep me from going outside at all.

Failure: that's obvious. I sometimes feel like I'm doing bad on a test or I didn't do something properly, and that's what makes dread shoot through my mind. I anticipate failure, and having to fail something makes me believe that it will effect my future.
