"One does not simply lose interest in MLP."

Yes. That's my reply. What Cloud Chaser said.

Thanks PixiGlow for my PINKTASTIC SIG!!! Cute Avatar made by Dragonshy!

Though you are shy and sweet, and I bake every treat, everyone has differences,

even best friends, but I can't see the differences in you and me, my friend (formerly Pinkie Pie Rocks)

The ebb and flow of interest in most any subject is bound to occur. For instance, The Matrix is probably my personal favorite film; but I don't think about the movie all the time, nor do I find myself repeatedly talking about it. With MLP, it's a little easier to re-engage because the series is on going. The fandom is also fairly large and active. That helps me retain my interest even in the midst of a lull.

When season three begins, I'm certain MLP will be back the forefront.

Well in time interests change, I known to come back to watch astro boy when I first saw it when I was a young one, I am still have a interest in dragons which also kept me into MLP:FiM longer when more interests I do have show up in the show.

Maybe the fad will die but I will always have all the episodes on hand when I ever want to watch them again. I may never stop being a brony myself, but that's just me.

Have I had a decline in interest in the show? Hmmm... can't say I have, although I am dying for new episodes after such a long dry season!!! But hey, if somepony else isn't as interested in the show anymore, that's their decision, and fine by me. B)

Don't mistake losing interest in the fandom and losing interest in the show. I sometimes lose interest too since I have rewatched each ep thrice.

I'm pretty cool. I think.

Also, new OC (it has a cutie mark this time!).

I mean the show. I still agree it's very good and one of the best new cartoons, but I have other things I like more right now.

  • 3 years later...

A little backstory:

I've been a part of this fandom for almost 3 and 1/2 years! Ever since I was a freshman in high school

I've been rather honored to be a part of this awesome fandom.

However in recent weeks, I've been moving on a different foot. I've been losing interest in the show for quite some time now. I'm not sure why but I for sure have found other shows that have been more interesting to me.

But this does not stop me from exiting this fandom. I am still a brony. And I still contribute to the fandom in many ways. This is not just another fandom, for me It's like a second family. A BIG ONE for sure. But talking about the show or just talking in general makes me happy.

So is there anyone having the same mood as me right now?

I lost interest in the Show countless times and also wanted to leave this side multiple sides.

As of now, i lost interest again, but...sometimes it just comes back.

But i stopped buying Mlp Stuff.

Its just, this is the best Forum i have ever seen and its the most fun, so i think i will stay pretty much forever on here.

While losing interest in the Show now and then.

It happens. Interest comes and goes, but this fandom is very large and influential. I have a lot of friends in it, and even though I sometimes get tired of the seeing ponies everywhere I go, I can't deny the quality of some of the fanart, the discussions, and the personalities of the people here.

(edited)

This happened me a little bit within during season 5, thankfully the second half of season 5 helped improve things and I regained interest in the show.

While I'm still interested in the show, that has happened to me before. I've gotten interested in things, then lost interest in said things. For example, there was a time when I really like watching MLP analysis/review videos, but then I lost interest in them.

It's normal for your interest in any show to have it's ups and downs until you eventually drop interest altogether or stay committed forever. So far my interest for the show hasn't dropped, but more so my interest in the fandom dropped a few months ago. Just getting back into the swing of things  :adorkable:

Well, I'm not as excited for new episodes as before, but it's not like I watch many more shows at the moment :dash:. All other Marvel Cinematic Universe shows have reached their end of seasons and ponies are the ones that keep going right now

Ever since Newbie Dash (the main episode I waited for) I've been pretty distanced from newer episodes and the series itself

I feel that too, but to me it's because i'm more into Steven Universe these days. The first half of season 5 was kinda tedious in my opinion as well, even with the amazingness (is that a word?) that was 'Amending Fences' and 'Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep?'. I only got into it again after I got spoiled about DT's redemption in 'Crusaders of the Lost Mark', which happens to be my favorite episode of the show as of now. I'd suggest you to give it a break or something, it worked for me. Hoping the second half of season 6 amazes me like the last season did, but honestly I feel like the show is starting to get stale.

Thats pretty common with most fandoms, especially if you've been in one for any length of time. In fact alot of people entered into the fandom for the fandom itself in the first place.

Personally, i've only watched the S6 premiere and nothing else. Mostly because I'll do what I did with season 5... wait till the entire season finishes and then binge watch all of it

Me!

I've been in the fandom since 2012ish and I've lost an extreme amount of interest in the show. Ever since season 4 ended, my interest in the show dropped. I'm still an active member of the fandom, though, for the most part. :P

For me, I've lost all interest in the show (and the upcoming movie) after the 100th episode disaster (it's a disaster to me, deal with it) last season, which in turn resulted in me being the subject of attacks by portions of the fandom for tearing it to shreds in a review and recap post. I tried to watch the episodes after that including the one that almost sent me to the hospital due to a violent PTSD attack.

Since then, I've never paid much attention to the show due to a variety of factors but the fandom was one of the reasons I lost interest after the first half of season five. I was "burnt" (not physically) by the fandom, even going as far as getting me sacked from my newswriters position and banned from another forum after I called them out on their end of year awards for taking advantage of my misfortune.

Today I'm more into my main hobby and interest of technology and also fitness as part of my transgender journey, but I often still drop in from time to time.

I'm here until the trip is finally over as in I am the kind of person that will watch a series all the way to the end no matter how bad it got.

Is the show getting worst? Absolutely and has been bad since the beginning of Season 3. Some episodes are still tolerable but just not up to quality these days.

As for the fandom well I've been big on the fan stuff during Season 1 and 2 but afterwards I've really fallen away from it and don't know what is going on in the fandom currently and don't really care.
