Octavia and Rarity get their own episode, how will that end?

Since I have been told that Rarity and Octavia are getting an episode how well do you think that will go? Will it end up like when Derpy got to talk? Also Derpy was only in there for a minute and now a backround pony is coming in and getting a full episode I don't know if i should be happy for Octavia or if I should be sad knowing she might be kicked off because of her voice or how she acts?

Well, it be like the Derpy scene with Rainbow Dash. Rarity might be telling Octavia to do something. And if they do give Octavia a speaking role during that part, I hope it's similar to the one in the Epic Wub Time video. We will just have to wait and see what would happen.

I honestly can't get how they could even manage to make Octavia offensive. I mean what are they going to do, bring out all these stereotypes of musicians Xd. The only argument that I can see anyone making as to why they find Octavia is offensive is musicians do drugs, Octavia is a musician, therefore she does drugs.

The way it sounds it's going to be an episode not just a brief moment. The episode could be, Octavia asked Rarity to make a dress for her and then Octavia brings Rarity to a show and Rarity takes advantage of her. She becomes that cling friend. Or Rarity starts to spend more time with her and becomes distant from her other friends.

All I've heard is that Rarity and Octavia are getting a "duet", so it might just be a simple musical number akin to the Derpy scene. But I wouldn't be surprised if they got a full episode as well.

I don't see why the drug stereotype can't be played on here. If Vinyl Scratch is going to be figured into the picture, I suppose the show could invert popular perceptions of various musicians and their drug use-- Octavia, the Elegant Classical Musician, is drugged-up and rebellious, while Vinyl Scratch, the "cool" popular musician-- is clean and straight-laced-- they can figure as foils to each other, although I wouldn't want the show to play out so Vinyl Scratch ends up rehabilitating Octavia.

 

And of course, this being a G-rated cartoon, we'd have to substitute magic for drugs-- maybe under Rarity's influence?

 

My idea for how such an episode would play out, apologies if there are multiple plot holes/broken Aesops/has been done in fan-fiction/etc.

 

So Octavia is revealed in the beginning, through the duet, to be old Ponyville friends with Rarity. Octavia complains, to Rarity's dismay, that Canterlot is a boring place that has dulled her more creative side and that she wants to regain her old, more rebellious self. Rarity is nonetheless sympathetic to Octavia's feelings and wants to help her, getting the idea of going to Twilight's library to recreate the "memory spell" used in he Return of Harmony to return her "former state". Twilight, upon hearing the request, is suspicious of Rarity, remembering the last time she let untrained magic-users try new things ended up in craziness, and tries to inform Rarity exactly how it should be done, but Rarity's strong desire to help her friend immediately causes her to blow off Twilight, who throws her and Octavia out of the library. Determined to get the book, Rarity and Octavia sneak into the Library to steal the book, with Rarity cleverly breaking through Twilight's security system to not only get into the library but not trigger the alarm. After applying the spell in a remote area outside of Ponyville, Octavia is suddenly more energetic and improvisational, who comes back into Canterlot the next morning to wow the ponies in Canterlot with her musical skills, much to the dismay of Vinyl Scratch, who believes that her popularity is going down. Twilight, correctly suspecting that Rarity and Octavia made their way to Canterlot, is searching around to retrieve the book. She meets up with Vinyl Scratch who, upon hearing from Twilight that Rarity and Octavia have stolen the book, agrees to join her in finding the book, believing the use of the book to be "cheating". Together Twilight and Vinyl Scratch are able to steal the book back from Rarity and Octavia, but while Twilight is trying to justify their intrusion, Vinyl Scratch runs off and quickly searches for the spell but not before being confronted by a throng of enthusiasts who are expecting an impromptu concert from her. She realizes at that point that she hasn't been forgotten, and gives the book back to Twilight. Rarity apologizes to Twilight for stealing the book and being too "supportive" of her friend at the expense of not listening to her (which is why, she reveals, to have used a different spell in the same book that would have been less risky for Octavia's health). Twilight forgives her, and is about to take a letter, but admits to herself that she isn't too sure what she was supposed to learn from the experience because of the morally questionable circumstances and actions surrounding it, and puts it off to enjoy, and participate in, a concert of Vinyl Scratch and Octavia together.

Subplot alert!

 

Rainbow Dash discovers she's even more of an egghead then she thought, when she's captivated by Octavia's lovely interpretations of that "Long Mane Junk" as she called classical music in the beginning of the episode, and becomes her biggest fan in Ponyville! I can picture RD being totally embarrassed by being driven to tears by the music.

Well, Octavia is just a background pony, so it's more likely that it will be a Rarity episode with Octavia getting a minor speaking role somewhere in there.

 

I belive that the episode will be centered around the two of them so she will have a nice speaking part in the whole episode.

I'll be delighted to see octavia speak, same thing with derpy, in terms of a full episode, I don't know, but at least give them a little bit more screen time in the episode and some decent dialogue, no offence but I really don't want them to replace the mane 6, I think they're awesome in their own manner and way but the show is about the mane 6 and to me the background chars are their to spice up everything, in a good way, interesting to see how everything will turn out.

I thought this was still a rumor though? Ah whatever. I also heard they were going to have a duet, I don't like Rarity, but I'd suffer for Octavia. And I agree with others, the voice should be similar to Epic Wub Time's. Not exactly, but similar, with a similar speech pattern as well.

 

I will buy this episode in a heart beat if it actually exists.

 

EDIT: I also want to point out I HATE the OctyScratch ship. Mostly because it's all we get, if you see Octy, you see Scratch. I'm sick of it.
