Views on Clopfiction

I read a few before out of curiosity, and one of them had an insanely good story. I mean it was so good that I couldn't stop reading it. I don't really mind clopfics, the sexual stuff doesn't bother me at all.

Instead of just repeating what I said in the other thread about clop, maybe this time I'll add something a bit more personal.

 

To be honest I'm not really a fan of stories about just sex. I've read a few erotic stories from other fandoms I was in, but the only ones I liked were ones where sex was just a device to highlight the love between those involved. That said, I haven't read any clopfics yet (I've read a few romance fics today, but nothing that takes it to the next level), but if I did (and to be honest, it'll probably happen, eventually) I'd probably think the same way. The emotionality of two souls entwining is where the beauty really is in a story. Sex alone...I just can't get into.

 

I've also got this fear that reading too much clop, or the wrong kind, would oversexualize the fannon, and kind of make it difficult to enjoy MLP anymore.

I hate how hard it is to find good ones. There needs to be a source on specific pairings, kinks, etc. I'm not a big fan of scrolling randomly through the bad ones... Wait, you mean that's not what this thread is about? Of come on, I'm done with the clopper vs. Non-clopper debates. Let's all just get along and enjoy our ponies in whichever ways we want

I love reading fanfics -- of all kinds.

 

The majority of fanfics I've read are run of the mill, clopfic free writing. I think I've read two clopfics and they weren't that bad.

 

So I guess they're fine by me. Just another genre of writing.

I've read some, and have had no problem with them. The real problem isn't the clopfics, it's how people react to them. Some people are just plain rude “Ewww, you're wrong and evil and are going to burn in hell!”, some like to shove it in your face (mostly just constantly annoy you about anything mlp related, I've seen this when I haven't pronounced that I was a brony before), although my favorite ones are the people who say “Whatever you do behind doors in your room is fine by me, as long as you don't shove it into everyone faces.” So that's my take on it.

You must be some sort of very special spaghetti spiller.

I actually find you to be more ignorant than the common hater/troll.

 

 

 

About clopfics. I only read the well-written ones, but I rarely read clopfics, anyway. I prefer Slice of Life fics.

I think his/her jimmies are a little rustled. Maybe you should leave the rustled boy (or girl) alone.

I can't help to feel that his/her post was also filled with a bit of hate... But that may just be because of the “those I hate with a fiery passion” part...

I'm tolerant of it. Occasionally I run into a clopfic I like, but they have to be really well written without gross fetishes, featuring ponies I like who are in character. That effectively rules out the majority of clopfics, so you could say I protect myself pretty well from this stuff.

I've never read it before, so I don't have an opinion about it.

 

I don't like reading, so I have never read any kind of fan-fiction before.

Cloppers are fine and so is most clop fiction, Iv read a few and some of them lean a bit to much towards creepy but some of them are surprisingly well written. So overall I do think its pointless to fight against people who like that sort of content because rule 34 is a thing and always will be so no matter what it is it will always exist in porn form somewhere.

See this alot. I personally dont judge. But I can say that it creeps me out to see. I'd just rather not see it. Considering alot of the following for MLP came from 4chan it doesnt surprise me that so much of this "Clopfiction" exists. That always raises the question "how much is too much" because people dont see a problem writing an RP where a human falls in love with a pony so to a degree isnt that the same thing? To each their own.

Yes I still enjoy the show for everything that it is made famous for. I enjoy the characters and well written plotlines. Now that I have a girlfriend, I do not clop very much anymore, although I still do occasionally. I still watch the show frequently and regularly.

 

I would think it would be very rare for a person to JUST clop to the ponies, and not appreciate the show where it came from.

Well, I read a few because I was interested but I didn't find it something for me. I can't say much about the content, some are well-written and use the sexual intercourse as a development within a relationship wherein other stories are for quick satisfaction or fantasy-fuel and aside from that you also got the crackfics and the really bad written ones but that is not unique to clopfics as that occurs within all genres of fictions. I say let people read and like what they like, we have no implication to dislike or judge them based on something as a preference in literature and reading.

Can't say I ever have supported doing it, but if someone is into it, I honestly couldn't give a damn. People have odd tastes, and I can;t argue with them as even I myself support the weirdest of things. Of course...clopfiction isn't one of them

Okay, I'm going to be hated for this...but I really don't like clopfics or pony porn and I don't approve of clopping, especially since it can make us look bad (Tosh.0 anyone?).

I've read a few; some are very well written.  Others, not so much.  But from my positive experiences with them, I can tell you that a large portion of them are simply romance fics that take things one step further.   Characters are well-developed, there is an interesting and engaging storyline, and the story doesn't simply focus on clop.  

 

However, with every light side, there is a dark side.  In these not-so-good fics, there is a lack of the most important characteristic of a fanfiction; the story development.  It seems that that takes a back seat to the clop, which I do not like.  On top of this, there are many, many grammar errors, and an overall lack of quality.  

 

So basically, some are good, and some aren't.  Even though I don't clop, I can still read one from time to time and enjoy it.

Regardless of someone's stance on clop I think it can be agreed that what Daniel Tosh did was completely uncalled for. Not just because he showed clop with an agenda to slander us as a community, but also because he showed uncensored porn on national television (pony or otherwise), period.

I have said this before and I will say it again! If someone likes that then good for them. Me personally I don't like the whole deal with "clopping" and I think it puts a twisted idea on the show and its characters... But like I have said if someone like that then I have no problem with it!

I'm a clopper, I love clopfics (especially with extreme content), explicit images and so on.

I think that some bronies angry to us just because we exists and doesn't count us as a real bronies. But please - I like the show, I like non-sexual fanfics and art (actually, I like everything exept drunk ponies). So as majority of cloppers. 

BTW - this kind of content are barely visible for a wide audience. So I totally don't understand people. who hate us. You don't like clopping in general - cool, I respect your opinion. But this... just childish.

I'm not sure how it's a big deal that a show like Tosh.0 shows graphic content like that.  Nobody watches that show without the understanding that it will be gross and immature.  Complaining about the content of a raunchy comedy show is like complaining about the lack of Red Bull at an Amish bakery.

I used to say I despised it, and that it was evil. But then one day I offered to edit a fanfiction that I had become interested in.

Well, after that I actually became less "Burn the cloppers!" and became more "Whatever you want to read". I still think actually clopping to ponies is messed up, but reading clopfiction just for the plot (The story you sick minded person.) is totally fine.

I'm not too into it at all, including fanfiction in general.  Maybe one day, if I find a really good one, I'll read it but I rarely ever if at all got into reading fanfiction at all.  That being said though,  I certainly don't mind knowing someone who may be into that sort of thing.  Doesn't bug me in the slightest and I can definitely be open-minded enough to let them be themselves without being bothered or offended, regardless of whether or not I'm into it myself. <3

I searched this and decided to bump it as I just read a few chapters of one last night. (I believe it's called The Wind Beneath Her Wings, it's a twidash shipping) Personally, I understand clop-fiction a lot more than I understand the drawings. My logic is people are attracted to the personalities, so reading that, especially if it's well written, can let a person be attracted to the personality, rather than the form. I don't get the appeal of the art, to me it's just the ponies with... added features. I'm not sure if what I'm saying is making sense what-so-ever, but that's my opinion on the topic.

 

EDIT: Oh yeah and I have to add, I see them as shipfics being taken a step further. For a lot of people, reading clopfics isn't to clop. That's like saying everyone who reads A Song of Ice and Fire only reads them because they have explicit sex scenes to fap to. I see it as only an element of the story, meant to enhance the romance.

I read one where Twilight had to find love...

She dated both colts and mares to discover who she truly wanted to be with..

Yes there was sex in it, thus it was classified Clop fiction...

But it was a truly beautiful story actually, the ending actually made me tear up

 

As for cloppers...

Who cares?

Personally I look at it as a 'To each their own' subject.  It is not hurting anyone, and no one is forcing you to read them so if it makes the person happy I say that's their own business.

Depends on how the clop is used. One of the greatest fics ever, in my opinion, had loads of clop. However there was a reason for it and it was used to explain relationships between characters. There wasn't ever a scene that I felt was just there because the author wanted to cram a bit more clop into their story, and overall they created a masterpiece that would be much worse if it were restricted to age appropriate content. 

 

As for mindless clop, whatever. Those who like it, fantastic. Those who don't, that's what my mature filter is for

 My logic is people are attracted to the personalities, so reading that, especially if it's well written, can let a person be attracted to the personality, rather than the form.

True personality can play a major role in attraction to ponies, but it also plays a role in attraction to people in real life as well so it is not really a complete explanation but is on the right track. I think that cloppers are attracted to ponies because since they have so many human traits they have a subconscious level been able to suspend their disbelief that they are not human which has opened up the door to crushes and even sexual attraction. As to how and why such a suspension of disbelief happens I don't really think I have an answer for that, but most cloppers are of course not really harming anyone so the hate that is being directed toward them is a bit ridiculous especially because MLP is not the only fandom which contains rule 34 or rule 34 with non human characters.

 I don't mind clopfics. Like any other story, the key is in the writing, and there are some beautifully written fanfics that include clop in them. In these cases it isn't thrown in frivolously, and the story could even loose something if these scenes were left out. I don't have anything against the frivolous clop stories either. People like what they like .

Lets not go down this path. You don't like cloppers, that's cool. If you need to add the modifier, "no offense" when referring to clopping, it's probably in everyone's best interest if it isn't said at all; it just starts stupid, pointless arguments. (It's a shame one can't voice their unpopular opinion and not be ripped to shreds for it, but such is human nature.)

 

There are a lot of clopfics out there that are just plain sleazy (which I have to admit, I do sometimes enjoy as long as they don't take it too far or make it too unrealistic.) But there are also a lot of them that are very well written, and heartwarming. They don't have to be "sexual" per se, just great love stories.

I was unaware that there were clopfics that were romance based. I assumed that it was...well I wont say for the sake of other. I will say that I don't enjoy or am aroused by the sleazy clopfics and images. If it isn't graphic about the sex part and has a good well written romance story, then that's another thing. Never have read a clopfic, but again, if it has a good plot and doesn't go into the gritty details of the mature part, then I may give it a read.

I absolutely LOVE Clopfics, they can be amazing, funny, dark, and surprisingly deep, I don't really "get off" to them though, even if I did it would be pretty hard for me to fap while I'm trying to read, there is a point where I draw the line though, I don't like it when it includes young characters like the CMC. 

 

A lot of clopfics are pretty well written, whether it includes a deep story to it, or if it's just mindless sex.
