First off I'm not American.

Yes you can defend yourself from the Changelings and send them home by force if they attacking. To reenact the holocaust, of a now weak species that the Ponies have mostly defeated, would make the Ponies evil.

Try to redeem them, help them or something, but not destroy them.

A holocaust was not mentioned anywhere. Please try harder to pointlessly evoke Holocaust imagery next time. Please. It totally helps make a point.

...What other choice did they have?

Oh, I dunno...Maybe something that would actually get them fed instead of being stupid counterproductive evil? They had LITERALLY ANY OTHER CHOICE. Explain to me how taking over would get them the love they need. Granted, they could've hypnotized everybody assuming they all had Chrysalis' abilities but then why didn't they do that instead of being sadistic pricks?

The "They need love to survive!" defense falls to bits when you notice they start acting in a way that will only bring them hatred.

So invading, conquering, subjugating, and otherwise terrorizing a land of (mostly) innocent people isn't evil? ...You voted for Bush the second time, didn't ya? huh.png

woah, woah, woah.

Woah.

If only Queen chysleias had underlings like dick cheney LOL.

But that's just it, that's poor example.  that mess what based mostly out of ignorance.

The changeling queen knew the score.  She wasn't some dopey well to do smuck who succeeded well beyond her post in life because of lineage.

Technically they weren't actually hurting anypony until they were attacked. They were just going to feed off love harmlessly until the ponies started looking at them as evil. They were defending themselves, not trying to hurt ponies without reason.

Harmlessly, is it? Weren't hurting anypony, is it?

Tell that to Cadence, locked away to die in a cavern.

Tell that to Shining Armor, brainwashed for life while his lover DIES IN A CAVERN.

Yeah. Totally harmless.

Changelings initiated hostilities by brainwashing and imprisoning innocents so don't even start that "harmless" nonsense. Now, maybe they'd be nicer without their sadist of a leader...Well, here are some possibilities:

1) Without the hive leader (Chrysalis), they just lay down and die. This means they effectively are one with Chrysalis and thus would reasonably enough share her evil. Being that they die with her, they cannot have any chance for good here.

2) Without the leader, they go berserk and have to be put down for the safety of the ponies. Maybe not evil, per se, but certainly not able to be good.

3) Without the leader, they wander aimlessly. In this scenario, they could be rehabilitated, provided that changelings are capable of direct feeding (I.E., direct reception of love, without deception and illusions and brainwashing). This could be an interesting episode... (Alternatively, if changelings AREN'T capable of direct feeding, doesn't Cadence have that love magic?)

4) They aren't a hive mind in the first place which means they're all as willingly evil as Chrysalis.

So, you've got one scenario, one what-if, in which the changelings MIGHT be good. With Chrysalis, they're evil. And in most scenarios without Chrysalis, they still go down in history as evil. It's not a matter of me not liking changelings, it's a matter of evidence. All things shown in those episodes point to evil and most hypotheticals end at evil too. So yeah, from the standard perspective, they're evil and their harmful actions can't be justified.

O yeah, the Changelings were doing a great job showing that they come in peace. I mean bombarding the ponies city, capturing their guards and princess, scaring citizens, fighting the mane 6 and then capturing them to. They know how to become friends and show what true love is.

As for me I think when the changeling eat love they are killing the creator that makes that love. Chrysalis did say they have been doing that method for a long time. So why move to a new area when they can just keep eating that 1 areas love?

Also the comic is the only thing that shows them eating love.

By the way it looks, those things aren't getting back up anytime soon. And did they really need to destroy the city like that?

So if you ask me, the changelings are just pure evil.

They need love to survive as far as we know,

No, I've already mentioned that they have teeth so they can eat normal food. Do they use teeth to drain love? No, because we didn't see that Cadance or SA was bitten by Chrysalis.

They need love to gain more (certainly magical) power. They are evil.

What's bothers me is their ability to change appearance into pony (only pony?). They all have this ability, they can deceive ponies and drain love secretly. If this is their natural ability, then they all are evil by nature and are natural enemies of ponies.
