That's a fine question, I'll have to ask him when I get the chance.  Could you be a little more specific?

I am a 27 year old navy veteran, with a career as a private investor, here on the forums I do feel like someone's father, some of the bronies here are teenage high school students, but I saw on the brony consensus that my generation, the eighties born bronies are at the centre of the fandom, so it is really a treat to know I can relate to other fans, so that's why it took me a long time to watch the show, at first I thought it was the original My Little Pony or generation one, it didn't occur to me it was a new generation, until I saw pony art and references on YouTube and Deviant art, but I have been a fan of animation for decades, I grew up on every cartoon in the nineties, I even saw cartoons that were classified as girly, nevertheless I have enjoyed MLP since season two, and I am looking forward to attending BronyCon and Everfree this year, I do want to meet other bronies who grew up in the late eighties and the entire nineties, and have moments of nostalgia, and show off my complete collection of first generation Pokemon cards.

This is why I feel that the Life Advice forum is a great thing to have; so many of the younger kids are growing up in relative isolation compared to kids of previous generations.

I'm 43, and have a teenage daughter.  Here is a picture of me at work, in my very important and highly professional staff meeting.  Please notice the ponies, and the guy's reactions.

You are definitely not alone. I'm 37. My brother in law is in his 30's too, and was a Brony from the 4chan days.

You may be too old for the ball pit in McDonald playplace, but not too old for Pony

Nonsense!  Haven't you ever seen Big Bang Theory?  You're never too old for the ball pit.

Age doesn't matter when it comes to being a brony! ;)

I'm 25, and all I really watch are cartoons and anime. One could say I never grew up, but I simply do not care. lol

I was just wondering are there bronies that are actually around 30.  I kind of feel lonely being the only person that I know personally that is about 30.  I was just wondering am I strange for being this old and loves MLP?

I've wondered similarly lol.  Just to let you know, I never reveal my age online.  Never ever, and under no circumstances.  That being said...  I'm thirty-one.  And that number is likely to increase later this year :P.  I feel I occupy the fringe of the fandom rather than being an outright Brony, but I find myself on the verge of taking "the plunge."  The subculture fascinates me to some degree, and - as someone with a significant amount of social anxiety - the generally welcoming / tolerant nature of the community has helped me open up a tad.

As someone who intends to play Super Mario games until crippling arthritis sets in (or my thumbs fall off), I don't think there is or should be an age limit to the things you enjoy.  And if ever you're feeling a bit "weird," I assure you...  I am weirder lol.  You have Pon-thulhu as your avatar, and - from what I've read - you sound like a cool dad.  You're all right in my book.

I'm 26, so really I'm on the right side of 30 at least for the moment.  Trust me, you are not the oldest brony I've met by a long shot.  You should meet a friend of mine; he's pushing retirement age and is still super active on the convention circuit, not to mention his swag collection is so ridiculous I named him the Element of Swag.  I don't know how he does it but I hope to be that strong when I'm his age.

Were the same age, but when you say "the right side of 30" I kinda wanna shake you by the shoulders and shout, "Don't remind me!"

No you should not feel strange at all.  :)  There are several active members in their 40s here (I am one of them) and we even have a handful of people over 50.

Let me ask you something, Chaos.  Have you always liked cartoons?  I'm a lifelong fan of them myself and as such it was pretty easy for me to get into MLP once a friend showed it to me.

I loved the old Cartoon Network cartoons since I was little, well 10 or so.  I love cartoons and I like the subtle humor that the show has to offer. ;)

I'm 34. If someone is old and gray and they get inspiration from the show, more power to them :)

As other's have said, we have several members here that are parents and there's one girl that's married with kids in another brony chat I'm in so older members are not as uncommon as you would think.

Where as fandoms used to be just for college kids with free-time to go to meet-ups and cons the ease of networking online as made being a part of fandom culture more accessible for older people that usually wouldn't have the time to geek-out.

The average age of the brony fandom is apparently about 22... but the average age of the forum members seems to be about 16. There's a lot of young ones on here and maybe that makes you feel rather lonely at your ripe old age of 30 ;)  In truth though, I have met a brony as old as 42 so older fans are definitely out there.

To ease your worries of whether or not your the only brony who's 30 and up, check this out! I LOVE IT!

These are bronies, REAL bronies who are active, vet or involved in the military and quite a few of them are either in the upper 30s to even the senior age! It's awsome!

I'm just a silly little alicorn, trying to get by in the fandom ^^
