As many of you have probably noticed, we're presently dealing with a rather annoying issue of some manner that is causing the bbcode within random posts to not function properly - resulting in things such as links, youtube videos, and images not working properly.

 

Our resident techpony scatcoal Scootacool has been working on the issue, but has yet to find a cause and/or any way to put an end to it. He's opened a support ticket with IPS, who will be looking into the issue.

 

From what we've observed so far, you can temporarily repair your own posts by editing and subsequently resubmitting them, though this is admittedly not a permanent fix.

 

Further details will be available when we know what the hell is going on here when they are available. We appreciate your patience!

Please remain calm, Scootacool is innocent until proven guilty. Though we presently lack sufficient evidence to put him behind bars for good, we expect that evidence to materialize in the very near future - be patient, his days are numbered.

Ah, glad to see I wasn't simply going crazy, seeing broken links that worked perfectly fine a day earlier. That's always good.

This might have something to do with a bug I discovered a few weeks ago, but didn't report because it mysteriously disappeared. For a while, I couldn't edit long posts with the quick editor. If I did, the forum software would disable emoticons in the edited post, just showing the smiley code instead of the image. Posts that had been glitched looked the same for me and for others seeing it, and a ctrl-refresh had no effect. The only way to edit those posts without breaking them was to go into the full editor, uncheck the "enable emoticons" box, recheck it, then save the edited post.

 

Strangely enough, the problem only lasted a few days, going away before I had a chance to make a detailed bug report. These issues could be related.

All posts, I mean every single posts, that contain images that was uploaded to mlpforums (got the unique http://s.mlpforums) will broke down into the bbcode, doesn't matter whether the image was quoted from other posts or not

I believe that Feld0 was able to fix this last night early this morning - turns out that one of our forum hooks was updated and started to develop a few bad habits. We'll be keeping our eyes on things, though.
