Feminine/masculine things you like even though you're a boy/girl

What makes a man or a woman?

There is a general idea, though I would exclude dressing nice as "feminine."

I do many things that could be viewed as "feminine," such as the fact that I like cute things, but I'd rather not think about it because it doesn't matter to me.

I never wear make-up apart from lip gloss.

I get alot of my clothes from hiking stores.

I never played with Barbies.

I'm a really bad dancer.

I take tae kwon do.

As far as I know, I'm the only girl in my classes who plays video games.

I'm not an expert in celebrities.

I don't like Justin Bieber.

I usually wear tennis shoes or UGG boots. Never slippers, high heels,or those really high leather boots.

I can like whatever the heck I want because I'm not restricted by what society deems only appropriate to a certain gender.

But if I really had to answer, I wouldn't say I even like things that are supposedly exclusive to one gender (MLP surely isn't!), I like whatever I want so I don't really know what I like that would be considered feminine. I mean, I like cuteness, bird watching, puppies, babies, but anyone can like that. I enjoy the beauty of the world, it's landscapes, nature, etc. and I often point out that the sky looks beautiful. I dunno.

The incomprehensible entity known as my mind concluded that this is the moral of the thread:

I watch MLP, some shoujo, albeit I have way high standards and watch more shounen, I love cute things. I deplore shopping though, unless there is food involved. I'm also the most cynical romantic to exist.

Eh, I'm definitely not a feminine guy, I don't even know if watching MLP would be considered that girly since a lot of guys watch it anyways. I'm not one to really define anything either.

My interests averaged out would lean a bit towards feminine. I mostly enjoy gender-neutral stuff as well as things perceived as feminine. There are some interests of mine like guinea pigs that I personally don't regard as feminine but society probably does due to the whole "cute=girly" notion. But I really could not care what society thinks; I enjoy what makes me happy. :)

Yeah yeah, somebody mentioned in here that terms like masculinity are more obstructive than constructive and I would agree with him; but I don't do many feminine things, or at least I don't think I do. I would slap ponies on the list but it's just a stupid cartoon and who cares about that?

I have been studying education and everyone else who I have seen who is doing the same program at my college happens to either be an 18 year old girl straight out of high school or a woman in her late twenties who wants to get a job with the same schedule as her kids. Does that count?

Oh, aaaand

I condition and shampoo my beard.....

I want to smell your beard for confirmation purposes.

  • I like ponies. I like them a lot. I actually have a rather large assortment of toys that I've collected from the show. I display them openly.
  • I have a tendency to play as female characters in videogames. (I've played primarily as Princess peach in every Smash Bros game - I usually win.) I'm not really sure that I consider that a feminine thing though. After all, no one bats an eye when a girl plays as a guy character.
  • I'm really not into sports at all, but I'm not really sure that's a feminine thing either.
  • My favorite Pokémon is Jigglypuff.

Other than these things… I can't think of anything else.

I was born female but I my personality is 80% masculine. As a child I guess I enjoyed some "boyish" things such as Sonic games (I had a few, though I don't consider myself an exceptional Sonic fan, just something I enjoyed playing "back in the day.") I wear baggy, masculine clothes and even wear orange trunks.

I am very feminine in my feelings, behaviors and beliefs. I love MLP and many other female shows. I identify with the women in my life much more than the men (probably because I was raised by women. It isn't to say I lack all masculinity, just ean towards feminine

So I know you wanted examples

I love MLP and other girly shows and anime

I love fashion. I get a huge kick out of picking stuff for my wife

I am a counselor (a job heavily dominated by women)

God, I do that all the time! Almost all my favorite VG characters are female. I remember always playing as Amy Rose and beating my cousins in Mario & Sonic Olympics.

When my brother and I played, I would sometimes pretend to be a female character from a show or movie. That's so embarrassing, I shouldn't even tell you that. xD

I love smashing gender roles B) That said, I drool over motorcycles, especially the deep, throaty motors, ahhh. I'm currently learning how to fight properly (technically they're "Self Defense Classes"). I HATE romantic comedies aka 'chick flicks', and much prefer the very stereotypical "manly" movies like the expendables, wanted, and I seriously can't think of any others at the moment. Ummmm, I know that sexuality has NOTHING to do with personality and "masculine/feminine", but I do prefer women to men in that context. I suppose I would hang out with guys more often, but I find that GENERALLY SPEAKING they tend to be unintentionally misogynistic and the feminist me hates that.

Oh yeah, and I am fully capable of working on my own damn car! :P

Playing girl characters in games isn't girly at all, it's all about how they play. In a lot of RPG's, girls are mages, and I prefer mages. In fighting games, girls are usually faster, dodge better, and combo better, which suits my all-out, blocking-is-for-wimps, glass-cannon play style. In SSB, I main Samus and Pit, a girl and bishonen. Nobody thinks I'm girly for it, they just think I'm a rangewhore. Which, of course, I am ;)

I've seen people saying they enjoy scented candles, and I do too, especially peach and grapefruit.

While I don't like exclusive romance, once romance starts in a book or show that I'm watching, I'll often start disregarding action, killing, and other manly stuff in order to find out who gets with who faster. I do occasionally read shojou, but it usually bores me after too long.

I often wear panties to bed because they feel better than boxers. I occasionally wear them through the day as well, but not as often. I don't cross dress in any other way, but I'd say wearing female undergarments is pretty girly.

I sing along to music, regardless of if it's a male or female vocalist, and I often do it unconsciously. Pretty girly (and funny) when it's a song like "I Will Survive" :D

The Princess is pretty much far and away the most useful character in Super Mario Bros. 2/Doki Doki Panic, so I've almost never not played as her when I play that game.

I have a Fluttershy pillow plush

I can talk about my feelings

I acknowledge that I have feelings

I knowledge other people's feelings

I prefer talking out problems, rather than just charging in head-first

I detest violence

I believe that words are a much more powerful weapon than firsts or bullets

I believe that world peace is something that could happen one day

I believe that men and women deserve the same treatment

I hate sports

I like the colors pink, purple, and white

umm..manly things I like?

I suppose i should base it upon stereotypes..

I like videogame violence. there is just something really satisfying about blowing apart an enemy's head with a high caliber sniper rifle...I guess I also have a bit of a fascination with firearms...I would never wish to own one...but I just like them I guess. Having said that I know little about them. other than they come in different shapes and sizes, make loud noises and make red water come out of people.

I also love zombie films, or just talking about zombies in general. Not that I want a zombie apocalypse to happen, that would be terrible..but it's fun to fantasize about

I like most videogames, My favourites usually have a co-op element so I can play with a friend or just has a lot of violence and gore, bonus points for both.

Horror films are also really neat, I really like to be scared sometimes, especially if it's a psychological horror, I just love the tension ♥

Another thing I used to enjoy when I was younger was exploring forests and fields with my friends, getting really dirty and then coming home.

Though, I'm not exactly a tomboy either. I just have varied interests, I like a bit of everything ^^

I'm overly emotional, and I get riled up far too easily. I've worn my emotions on my sleeves my entire life. I was raised mostly by a female parent so that has something to do with it. Musicals are awesome, although I've never considered those feminine. Fuzzy socks too, cotton monotone socks are boring anyways.

Baking is one of my favorite Fall/Winter pastimes. If men can enjoy consuming delectable pastries, it follows that they can enjoy creating them.

Somebody mentioned bathing earlier in the thread. I like to be clean too, but a concern for hygiene shouldn't be gender-specific. Showers are quite enjoyable for me.

I don't care for sports, and I'm a guy of strong passions and feelings who tries to be reasonable about everything and loves people. If I ever meet one of you, a hug is inevitable.

...Also ponies.

Then there are the daydreams about being a girl and stuff like that, but I'll spare you the details.

Everybody at some point in their life, if not periodically throughout it, wonders what it would be like to be the opposite sex. For better or worse, people respond a little differently to each sex, even if they always try to be equitable. And sometimes a person might find an opportunity or be deprived of one based on their sex. Your perception of the world would be quite different, as would the world's perception of you. Many times I've thought "a woman would have had an easier time with that," or "I'm glad I was able to deal with that as a man." It's not unusual to think about, no more so than wondering how you would have turned out if you had been born and raised on the other side of the world.

But I know what I am, and I'm glad I'm a man. So is [Djenty].

Yep, every Pokemon game I've played that ever gave me the choice... I was always and (on the rare occasion that I play) still am a girl. :P Pretty much every other video game with an option for that as well. (I can kick some ass in Super Smash Bros. Melee with Zelda.)
