So I dont know if you guys heard of this but Star Wars and apparently all lucas arts are now part of The Disney Company

http://thewaltdisneycompany.com/disney-news/press-releases/2012/10/disney-acquire-lucasfilm-ltd

“It’s now time for me to pass ‘Star Wars’ on to a new generation of filmmakers.” George Lucas

With this they also confirm the release of Star Wars VII with Donald Duck as Donald Duck.

For me is a shock not a hard core fan of Star Wars but I think in a way this series have been very important in the creativity side of the world

I just saw this too, I don't like it one bit. Just... I'm afraid of what Disney will do with Star Wars. I'll be happy if they don't touch it. Lucas put his life into the franchise, it just seems wrong that he sells it to Disney.

Still... Jimmies seriously rustled, rustled really bad.

This is a lie lol. Besides the fact that there will be a seventh film.

Anyways, great news to say the least. I hope Disney can at least make the future films more desirable than the ghastly prequel trilogy.

@Delta: Disney didn't change Marvel with they bought them out a couple of years ago. Give 'em a chance.

Yes sorry about that its just a little poke there sorry. But is a way to make this more soft and tasty right?

Still with lucas out we can believe no more Jar Jar and a new big fan director can take this to new galaxies of oportunities

Gah, so dumb.... I don't even like Disney, but I stopped caring about Star Wars, too. I mean, it lost it's touch with me as I've had as a kid, anyway, I don't really care but it's still weird to see Star Wars being passed over. Oh well, we'll see I guess.

I apologize, it was an overreaction. It's just Star Wars has been a very important part of my life, especially during the Prequel years. Comics, games, books, I bathed in Star Wars. It's probably the reason I haven't been laid yet. Okay, maybe too much sarcasm.

Perhaps you're right, though I still would rather have them not touch the series, unless Han shot first was restored.

There will be another Star Wars movie and Lucas will not be involved? That's a check in the pros column. It may be the product of everything that Lucas is but he sincerely screwed up that franchise. Especially when he came out and said all the books Karen Traviss wrote, which were widely accepted were not canon. I'm actually interested in seeing where they take the 7th movie.

I'm sure if I should be shaking with glee at a 7th film or not.

@@Shadow Chaser, I read a handful of Traviss' books, didn't know Lucas said they weren't canon, those were good books, the Republic Commando series and her development of Mandalorians was superb.

That was why most people accepted them as canon. It was one of the most widely agreed upon foundations of the Mandalorians and general history of Star Wars. When Lucas mentioned them not being canon say that he didn't accept the history she had created, I lost all faith in him.

Yeah, the Cartoon Network series created a ton of inconsistencies. It looks good that Disney may own Star Wars, but I don't like that they want to release a new film in 2015 and new ones after that every 2-3 years. I'm just afraid they will milk it dry with too many films.

But I'll give them a chance.

Eh, Disney isn't too bad, but I'd rather they didn't acquire yet another awesome thing. I know the chances of them ruining Star Wars is extremely low (because one would have to do a shit load of horrible stuff to even begin to ruin the awesomeness that is Star Wars), but I'm still not too happy about it.

Although, new movies is a plus. I'll definitely hold off judgement until we see what becomes of this, but as of now, I'm skeptical.

The realization suddenly flew through me after a family member said it.

Princess Leia is now going to be a Disney Princess technically.

I'm not a huge Star Wars fan but I like some aspects of it and I won't say no to watching or playing something Star Wars related, but with Lucas out of the way I feel things could actually return to a better course. Let's face it, he ruined Indiana Jones so just how good do you think another Star Wars would have been if he was masterminding it? While I agree, Disney has become nothing but greedy and buying up all they can, they don't tend to ruin what they acquire though and for the most part they stay true to the source. I think things will continue on without a hitch, and what comes from this will probably be better than the prequel trilogy. Also, no more multiple releases of content with tweaked things... "NOOOOOOO", "Han shot first, 2nd, 16th, never, whatever", and whatever else was tweaked constantly between releases.

Wow, really?

...What the heck is going to happen to the Clone Wars on Cartoon Network then?

Seriously, where exactly do the rights stand on that...?

And I'm not too worried about what Disney will do to Star Wars.

I am not to keen on it. George Lucas has done so many good things with Star Wars, I used to respect Disney but now I absolutely despise it. I think that they should just let Cartoon Network keep the Star Wars franchise

I don't mind that Disney bought StarWars, maybe we can have a decent show on Disney Channel that isn't Gravity Falls. But the fact that they are going to make a 7th movie scares me. I mean it would be interesting to see how Luke and the others rebuild the Jedi Order but at the same time it feels like they are milking the franchise. Ehh we'll just have to see what happens. Either way im going to watch the movie when i comes out.

I don't know what to think about this. To be honest I think it's going to be bad..

But since it's Star Wars I really really hope it will be good.

Disney did Pirates otC pretty good so I really hope it will be.. good..

I can't say I'm happy about this... I'm afraid of what might become of our beloved Star Wars if Disney decides to do something with it. It could be catastrophic for the franchise! :(

With Donald Duck

NO.NO. DO NOT SCARE ME LIKE THAT. NO.

GRBDERBDNBDGEBDEGBEDGEBDGRGRGDRBGRGDGRRBGDRBGR!!!!

Why George? WHY!?!

Ok, It might not be AS dramatic as I make it out to be, but hey, If Disney dares to even touch MY star wars plot line, somebody is going to get their mickey mouse ears served to them.

Hopefully it won't end up like The clone wars on CN (who's name does not even deserve to be capitalized). So I'm conflicted I guess, the only feeling I can definitely pinpoint is anticipation.

Let's hope the Force is with us on this one...

Well, it was kind of a no brainer, since they had the Star-Tours attraction at the Disney Parks, and they did use a lot of Star Wars stuff in the past. Well Marvel has been striving with Disney so far, so I don't think they'll make any frequent chan-

With this they also confirm the release of Star Wars VII with Donald Duck as Donald Duck.

I'm okay with it, as long as Disney doesn't touch Star Wars with dirty fingers.

I just really hope that they don't alter anything, and just keep it the way it was.

...because if they do anything lame to Star Wars I will strangle a plushie.
