I have a long list of books I've been meaning to read for quite a while now and unfortunately I have yet to read any of them but "Pit Bull: The Battle over an American Icon" by Bronwen Dickey has had its grip on my brain for a good couple of days and I don't mind it at all. Its a great book about the history of the breeds and so much more. I'm not even a huge dog person, but its an incredible intersection of history and biology so I soak it all up.

I'm not done with it yet, but I would still highly recommend it to anyone who finds animal stuff interesting, and especially to people who want to learn about pit bull type dogs.

I have been reading René Guénon's Reign of Quantity. This is easily among the most difficult books I have read, and I know that I am failing to understand much of the insights presented.

This book is nothing like the first, but very entertaining and has a biting sense of humor. If you’re interested in travel books with a sense of humor, try Bill Bryson, he has some hilarious travel books. Among them: Notes From a Small Island, Neither Here Nor There, A Walk in the Woods, and I’m a Stranger Here Myself (the title it was released under in the U.K.) He has a biting sense of humor and his books are quite addictive.

For Traveling Lite I'm sorry to say he does quite a lot of slagging off of things, including his girlfriend! He has something disparaging to say about every country including England. However the prose is entertaining and the mishaps can be quite funny, or dramatic, all in all the tour was hard work and none of 3 diferent kinds of satnav worked properly. Targets for each day of course were hopelessly too ambitious.  You also need to be interested in motorcycles and know particular makes and models he's talking about.

The King’s Prey: St. Dymphna of Ireland. What a book! I wanted a simple biographical account of St. Dymphna’s life but I found this dramatization of it, which still covers all the known aspects of her life but also re-creates a very tangible setting of 7th century Ireland.

I just recently finished "Tender Is The Flesh" by Augustina Bazterrica, and now I'm re-reading Nausea by Jean-Paul Sartre. It's a very good book, but it kinda gets in your head sometimes
