Oh Tich. You probably want to read out huge discussion on it.

He's a fictionalist. You don't want to argue math with him. He doesn't believe in math. It's useful but doesn't believe it exists.

Actually you know what? Let's make science a religion and get all the free stuff Christianity gets XD.

Yeah, tax free science! That'd be the day!

WAIT! NO! That means we can't teach science in schools. Separation of church and state XD Blasted laws. They always get in the way of our "ignorance". It's a good thing though. Kids shouldn't be taught religions. :D

Institutionalized ignorance eh? Well at least we could finally go on a jihad if science became religion! Science going to a war is a scary thought, nukes, robots, bioweapons, supersoldiers, technology harnessed for destruction.

I don't think even people who try to claim science to be a religion really want it to become that

Yeah, science will own every religions ass. Since science is the accumulation of all knowledge. Let's see how the world fares against science without knowledge. I could win single handedly. XD

I'm an Agnostic Atheist. The reason being I think that all organized religions are BS (No offense, it's just my opinion).

However, there is a possibility of an all-powerful creator. We can't prove against it and we'd be idiots to think we can, I just find it really hard to believe a lot of the stuff current religions throw at me.

One thing I really can't stand is when people try and dictate how people live they're lives based on there own personal beliefs. Just because you believe in something does not mean that others have to follow your personal moral code.

This being said, I have nothing against religious people in general. Believe what you want to believe.

Me neither, nothing against religious people, only problem I have is the problem they have with me not having religion :P

Science requires you to put faith in certain claims which can never be established as fact.

This is true, but most scientific theories have been tested and work in our current circumstances. QED most scientific theories don't rely on belief and faith.

I agree 100%

Like I said, just because you believe in something doesn't give you the right to force your morality on people, hence why I support things like gay marriage.

Some religious people can get pretty preachy sometimes, but not all religious people are this way. I'ts unfair to categorize ALL religious people as preachers.

If science becomes a religion, we will just found science schools where we teach nothing but science to our kids and indoctrinate them. It is allowed as we allow Catholic schools and Jewish schools. it will be glorious.

^ This is best idea. And then we can filter the mindless idiots and we can all live happily ever after in our high rise apartments looking down on the lowly non sciencers. MHAHAHHAHAHHAHA .

Didn't mean offend anyone btw. :) You're all fine.

Not including it as a religion would be extremely insulting, as that's simply saying

"what I believe in is more valid that what you believe in"

I'm not trying to start an argument, and i hate when people say that too, but science is far too broad to be considered a religion. For example, there is little to no relation between mathematical theories and religion, other than that they're theories.. Also, you cannot prove anything, but you certainly can make it 99.99~% possible to be true with something called evidence.

Also, religion is moreso spiritual and an answer to an afterlife.

I'm Catholic and I love science and shiny things! For the record, I wasn't "indoctrinated" either. I've had plenty of chances and much incentive to abandon my faith. I've chosen not to, because it helps me personally. Still, I believe science and industry will lead us to a better future! (It's certainly a better idea than us abandoning modern conveniences and living like the Amish. No offense to them, it's just not my thing.)

I'm Catholic, because I was raised in a Catholic family :)

As was I! :D That said, I went to a private high school and a military college, both with many different faith traditions. Plus my first (and thus far only girlfriend :( ) was a Wiccan. So I like to keep an open mind on the subject of religion and spirituality. I still go to mass each week.

Heh, religion. I'm an atheist. I lost my faith in "god" 2 years ago. If any thing, I very mush dislike religion. It just gives people false for a brighter world. That's something nobody needs. Live for today, and if their is a "god", i'll face that problem when I die. But if Unitology was a real religion, I would be apart of it.

Liberal Protestant (Christian). I was raised, and am still being raised in a Christian home. However I've adopted my own beliefs from deep thought, and stuff.

Agnostic. I was raised with a Christian mother and an atheist father. I lost my "faith" in a higher power a long time ago after realizing the fact that the room for god in a scientific world is none. But a scientific world has proven its merit and its ability to create models with astounding predictive capabilities. After all, it is science that created the machines used to create My Little Pony Friendship is Magic.

Though considering the rise of String Theory, the fact that we don't even know 1% of the knowledge in the Universe, and probability, I'm agnostic. The idea that one god is true out of the thousands of gods of cultures all around the word is absurd, number wise. But again, number wise, the probability of there being some sort of higher power is greater than zero.
