I worship Euterpe, the muse associated with the aulos (a super awesome ancient double reed instrument) and said to have invented wind instruments.

Of course, no. I don't really believe. I just think she's the coolest deity ever.

I think I posted on here once a long time ago, but my religious beliefs haven't changed since. :P I'm Christian, though in particular, I'm a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. (Sometimes called Mormon) I've actually been strengthening my beliefs recently too. :squee:

I do dabble in spirituality from time to time. I remember I used to greet the morning Sun and such. Good times. I think Buddhism have some interesting lore, but the more animistic local spirit stuff was always more fascinating to me. Also I really don't like pure materialism, it brings out my bad side.

@Ezynell I listed other, because now, after recently coming to terms, yet again, that I simply don't care about religion anymore, I now identify myself as an Agnostic Atheist. I just can't seriously practice any religion simply because I just don't care about it anymore, especially when I have my own well-being and music career that I want to focus on.

I have not a religion. There is quite a lot of information found in scripture that is accurate regarding the model of our plane-t and the luminaries, however. And it doesn't take a genius to realize that there is intelligent design behind this creation. The signature of this "creator" is everywhere, starting with the golden ratio for example. Some even suggest his name is in the human DNA. But that is taking it a little too far, I believe. Anyway, the very constitution of the elements to create something like this is incredible. Everything has a form, logic and function to create a complex ecosystem that can sustain life within nature. Except myself, I am a failure. Hahaha.
So, it would take ignoring this entire reality to say this was created by mistake or chance. It is ridiculous to assume that, and sometimes I feel so despondant that I truly believe this whole thing was a mistake. But that is no reason to close my eyes. Or is it, now?
So, I believe it is safe to say there is an intelligence that you could call "god" behind this creation. And many give that responsability to the character of Yoshua. The one who is allegedly the alpha and omega, whom nothing could have been created without, according to the book. And this is a very likely possibility, considering many of the coincidences in scripture regarding my most recent discoveries as to the working of this model.
And this is coming from someone who does not believe in religion to begin with, mostly because of the human component associated with the institution thereof. As it is said in the book; the flesh is weak... for everyone.

But there is another problem. There are many aspects to reality that do not fit into the puzzle. Like why for example there was a character known as tammuz from babylon who shared resemblance with jesus? Or why the vatican has the babylonian pine cone or the egyptian obelisk, or even the feast of saturnalia? Or a message within the egyptian book of the dead where a passage can be found sharing almost identical words in translation to those from the christ. And then you start to look deeper, and it seems like the same being existed in different cultures under different names and guises.
It makes no sense whatsoever. There are minor tribes across the world that have a deity that came from the waters, and is seemingly yet another form of the same creator sharing the same message, once again.

Another interesting aspect is that humanity is a dysfunctional creation despite their amazing potential. You only have to look at history to realize it. Or out the window. Hahaha. So, would it be a stretch to say the creator is also a dysfunctional being? Now, that would be a disappointing revelation. Don't you think? Especially if the deluge was true. And there is some archelogical research on ancient structures suggesting this could have been the case. Meaning this creator is also prone to incredible fits of violence and destruction, which does not really co-relate when you compare it with the loving character of jesus. The father and the son. Same thing for me. Which is not a good at all. Or also those structures associted with the tartarian empire, which show incredible structural damage as to even cause melting of bloated strucutures fused into the terrain. And many of these buildings now have been crowned with the image of jesus and the cross, despite sharing an architecture that is difficult to associate with most commonly known cultures. So, there is a chance he went at it yet again.
So, who is this character, really? And why do I feel such deep sense of failure when I think about him? The same disappointment I feel when I look at this creation.

Of course. I can be completely wrong about this and the earth is actually a virtual simulation created by an inanimate rubber chicken sitting on a throne. "The master mind behind it all".
I keep on searching. Still, I have the feeling I will be very disappointed once I find the creator of this all. I can see the seams already. Like reality is coming apart. At least he tried to make something, right?
But I am certain you can understand why I do not have a religion of my own. I would have to ignore so much about this world and the remnants of ancient civilizations which may have been yet another failed "time-line" that suffered cataclysmic consequences similar to sodom and gomorrah. Who knows?
But this is such a funny thought, that god could be a complete failure. That would make him relatable for sure.

I am so tired of trying to put all this together. I am so tired of trying to put myself together.

Technically speaking mine is unique in that I consider myself to be a follower of "God" in many different forms, names etc or rather that I follow all paths of enlightenment I consider to be a pathway to my spiritual goal.

Or to put it another way I am a Christian, a Buddhist, a wiccan, a pagan, etc etc as is needed and yet I am also not these things if that makes any sense.

I am a Roman Catholic. I was born into a Catholic family but even if I hadn't been, I'd have converted to the Catholic faith because it's the only religion that makes perfect sense to me and it fits me to a tee.

Non-religious. I don't believe in any gods or spiritual beings, but at the same time, I don't rule out their existence.

n my belief, if a god exists, it is not like any religion claims it to be, and rather would most likely be a being outside human understanding that doesn't particularly care about humans, or if they care about humans, we are to it like an ant farm, neat to look at, probably a shame if all of us were lost, but individual holds no weight.  However, as stated, I don't personally believe that even such being exists.

And for why?
I was brought up Christian, kinda, my parents weren't religious, but Christianity is the main religion in my country (even our flag is the Christian cross) so it was taught to me as a fact in school, and I took part in mandatory church stuff and also some more or less optional religious stuff, because living in a smaller town, there was nothing for the kids that wasn't in some way religious. No doubt I believed in god at some point, but I was never deeply religious in that way, though that tends to be the norm in this country, people are religious, but not fanatics.

I then kinda just grew out of it, like I grew out of Santa, there wasn't some specific moment where I became non-religious, it just went away, I didn't think about it. Then later in life I have started thinking again, and while I'd love to have faith in something, I find myself unable to fall into that mindset, I'd love to believe that there's some greater power that gives a damn about me, but it goes against the reality I see.

I am however quite interested in the "lore" of various religions, having made a little dive into the limited information we have about Finnish ancient religions for example.

For me, this is arguably one of the toughest questions to answer on the forums.

I'm not 100% sure what I am as I'm currently undergoing my own "religious"/"spiritual" journey.

I say those words in quotes as I'm not very sure what I'm experiencing and when I discuss with various people IRL or online, I get conflicting opinions.

My family is Catholic and I considered myself one when I was younger. I was even a lead Altar Server at the church as a teenager.

Though over time, I have leaned more into Atheism and Agnosticism.

Recently, I had some events occur IRL that have made me reconsider my old Catholic faith again, but it's rather complex to discuss and explore with current circumstances.

I'd like to believe that there is something for everyone, but there's another part of me that knows that may not be true.

I'm still respectful regardless of what I believe and what others believe, even if other ideas seem outlandish to me at first, but I realize that perspective is due to my upbringing which is similar to how others would probably view me as well.  If we grow up thinking one thing is one way and not the other our whole lives, then an exception or several occurred, then wouldn't you agree that you would question things? Just food for thought and not intended for further discussion as there are other places for that.

These were just some small thoughts I had on the subject. I think it's rather fascinating to see what everyone believes as there are some religions and spiritualities that I have never even heard of before until now.

I think everyone here is beautiful and unique in their own way.

i have tried many religions in hopes one would make me happy

i was born jewish, i was adopted by christians (the hateful kind), i tried satanism and thelema but i dont believe in magic

i would say im an atheist, but i cant prove god doesnt exist, just like others cant prove hes real

what i personally believe is that whatever created us has something to do with space stuff that we are probably never going to see

and if we're never going to see it, then i see no point in stressing about it

Not just atheist but extremely anti religious, for both ideological and personal reasons. I keep my thoughts to myself on it though as I have intense feelings regarding the subject, to my surprise considering I was raised secularly and am only culturally Christian Orthodox due to the society I was raised in. I was baptised Orthodox but that has more to do with my parents adhering to cultural customs in my country - they're also atheist and anti religious of varying degrees.

I do abhor when people use atheism/anti-religious views as a shield to be bigoted towards the cultures of minority groups so there's that.

Agnostic. I couldn't care less what religion people had as long as they were peaceful. For instance not indoctrinating children, not promoting division etc. A lot of religious people are antisemitic though and that is a problem.

I made a point how indoctrinating children with religion is a terrible thing to do, and it is only adults who can make an informed choice which belief system they align with, a while back I used ChatGPT to ask that AI what it thought on the topic, I made a typo one time, and that stupid thing doesn't even recognize typos people make from time to time that can easily come about from something like autocorrect if not outright ignorance or sight issues from a user, typos that are easily recognized by a human. I accidentally wrote "indoctrination with children with religion is not worthy of our support" instead of indoctrinating children with religion is not worthy of our support, right after saying something along the lines that there are some things free speech should not protect, and it auto flagged it as "this content may violate terms of service" or something like that. Rubbish, one reason I gave up on AI, it doesn't understand nuance, and it expects you to be perfect every time.

I digress, I made my point. As for my agnostic position, it comes from a fact that we do not really have a reliable way of saying one way or another, if the paranormal exists or not, not everything about the universe is provable, if it were, we would not have unsolved crimes that continue to be unsolved long after a crime was committed. Science is good and we should trust it, however it doesn't mean people have all the answers, just like nobody really knows what happens inside the event horizon of a black hole, the clue is in the name, event horizon, its contents are visibly cut off from the rest of the known universe, and all scientists have beyond that are mathematical equations that predict things, but not verify them. Some people think other universes exist inside black holes, but there is no evidence of that or the multiverse, either.

Pagan:  I come from a mix of catholic brought up and native American.   But I also went to a lot of different churches in a small town, given we only had a standing pop: 300 ppl year around.  So they would have a of family/kid things to do in the winter.     As I got older,  my mom was not much for the whole church thing and I was kinda left on my own.   13 years old I started to go to few churches with a friend or too but kinda crashed into wicca via 90's shows (Charmed, Buffy, etc) and went to do some research.    My mom also had know white male and female witches in hwe own travels and knew that it was ok letting me explore.   After I hit about 20's kinda switched to a more gray pagan area after more thinking, traveling, life and now mostly just by Celtic/Neo Pagan.

Not to disrespect people in your area however I like to have the scientific method guide our reasoning which is why I don't put stock into faith.

I mean, the assumption of the paranormal existing has its problems. If magic exists, how is it that no stage performer is able to perform feats of magic? all they do is slight of hand, tricks. So while that in itself does not rule out the possibility of life after death, it tells us enough that we should not trust in illusion.

Then again, it is probably for the best for our world that it does not have magic. One corrupt person vanishing somebody with the phrase "abracadabra" would be a frightening situation.
