Your opinion on actual ponies in the real world.

...I rented the movie Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows and I saw Sherlock Holmes riding a black pony in a humorous part of the movie.

Apparently ponies can actually carry full-grown humans.

Their bland manes that hang down in a sheet, and long faces and rounded snouts make them cute like ugly puppies.

An early memory in my life of when I though about ponies was when I watched the first Toy Story, and Sid Phillips said "I want to ride the pony" in a tired daze.

My cusion raises Horses, but he's had a few ponys here and there.. but their actually a ton of fun if you treat them good, as i found out :) One little pony was born on a day that i was there, got to help which as gross, but totally worth it! That was a few years ago, but now whenever im there the pony runs over to almost "greet" me, since i was around alot more often, since my cusin wanted help over the summer :P

I prefer the look of horses opposed to regular ponies, myself. Ponies are cute and all, but something about their proportions look a little ...off to me.

I did once see a pony at a historical park that was furry and fuzzy (much longer fur than regular horses) and quite possible one of the cutest things I've ever seen. I wanted to give the thing a hug, but I didn't think I could trust my social skills to let me get away with that without the people present thinking I was a creep.

But yeah. Ponies are cute, but I like horses better.

Now that I've been overdosed on animated ponies, I can no longer think of real ponies as actual ponies. Yeah, reality is unrealistic.

Same, now that I have watched a lot of MLP, my exception of ponies are cute and cartoonish like. But in real life they are not cute, talking ponies like in the show. :(

The only real life horses I like are the huge work horses with the enormous hairy hooves.  I've got no idea of the name of the breed or anything.

neat animal no matter what the breed, just saying.

ponies remind me too much of donkeys for some reason.

Having lived around a large amount equines, the worst thing is the smell. Though, if you get past that barrier you will find out they are quite the gentle and docile creature. I still preferred riding the mules however.

Clydesdales. Donkeys can also support human weight but are very, very slow. Crossbreed with horses you get mules and they have the strength of a horse, in the manageable form factor of a large donkey, without the speed and wildness of course. Edited by Jammo

Well, I'd probably prefer horses.

But MLP got me into loving horses.

I never really saw any, or rode any.

But I'd love to own one, or ride one.

Ponies.  Adorable.

Horses and their dwarf counterparts are all very well and good, but if one wanted to actualize the cartoon ponies from the show I don't think even Princess Celestia would stand much more than a foot tall.

Actually, someone did the math and she's about 5ft, Luna's around 3-4ft, and everypony else is about the size of a large dog(aside from foals).

I don't like them. They are very useful animals and are ok, but it's nothing special to me... I don't find them cute or very friendly and they are just normal animals.

Now MLP ponies .... those are real ponies! Word "pony" changed definition in my dictionary and I hope it'll soon change it's definition is society ^^

IMO they are bit taller... and it's quite weird to imagine them right next to us, the difference between Celestia and regular mane 6 size would be... very weird

The fact most of us would in reality be a little taller then her would make it even weirder considering how we see her as towering over every-pony on the show.

They are like, small horses. You can ride on em. But they don't fly and fart rainbows so they aren't really my thing. Still better than dogs.

Sorry for the thing that has been in my sig for like a lot of time, I ragequit because I got a warning and then never bothered to get back to the forums and change my sig xd

Because of my big sis's love for horses, and because we own a rather big one and keep him at a stables, I've actually grown to quite like any kind of horse. They are docile creatures, and are very obedient. Not very bright though. Ponies are no different, except they're small and cute. One time there was a whole bunch of ponies being brought in for polo, and they got some sort of special treatment.

That would be interesting to see a polo game in MLP.

Assuming that the metric of the mention of "An eight foot candy-cane" is accurate from S2E11 Hearth's Warming Eve. Everything else is assumed after that.

They used the apple Pinkie was eating in "Green Isn't Your Color" as a rough measure, since we can assume the size of an average apple.

My cousin has many horses and ponies.  She jumps competetively as well and wants to be an equine veteran when she gets out of college.  I love watching her and love listening to her tell me about these awesomee creatures.  I have a respect for ponies and horses.

I prefer horses in real life but the Ponies I have met are friendly and acted kind of like huge dogs. The ponies were slightly domesticated and in state park so I don't know how wild or trained they were but I liked them.
