Do you read the entire thread before replying?

I normally read the thread starter before I post. One time, I made a post in a thread about game scores. I didn't read the original post, so I thought that it was about scores that critics rate the game and not high scores in games Once I realised I cocked up, I went and changed it.

As for reading the entire thread, not really. It doesn't bother me too much if someone has made a post that pretty much says the same thing as my own.

I only read the first post to understand what all people are talking about here.

I dont really read trough all the pages, specially if they are 6 or even 10 sometimes. Or 200 sometimes

Also, why should i read everyones post first? Even if i have the same opinion as another person...well i can still post mine.If i would just search in every tread someone who has my opinion and then just dont post at all if i find one, i would end up posting almost nothing here.

Also, many people are often in discussions with each other and i dont want to interrupt them. So there isnt really a reason to read trough all the posts for me.

Except for one asktread for a person that i really liked. I read trough over 30 pages i think but only because i was obsessed with this user

It depends. If the thread only has 2-3 pages, I read the whole thing before replying (hell, sometimes I don't reply and just read). For this one, I read the OP and skimmed the first page. :x

I try to do that, but some threads get really long and I get lazy. I'll still read some of the pages, but not quite all.

Some threads, my interest in the subject is so great that I will read a substantial portion to all the posts on it. On others, my interest may cause me to post on title alone. So I suppose it really depends on how passionate I am about the subject and my level of interest or curiosity.

Depends on the topic. If its something super serious like...idk...why the US government is actually ran by aliens then I'll read every other reply....like, i'll read the long replies, skip over the short ones, then post my two cents.

If its something based on opinion or someone asking a question directed at the readers(like, How do you eat ramen) I'll read the first post then state my opinion/response.

If its a role-play I only read the post that mentions me unless I am the DM/Narrator. Then I read everyones post.

Most of the time, nope. I obviously make sure to read the main post and I might read a few random other posts, but unless the thread has not had many responses at that point, I won't read all of them depending on the subject,

Nope, didn't even read the first post. I usually just look for something to reply to, be it the topic or something in the post, rarely need to read the whole thing.

I'd normally read the first post in a thread, and maybe some others. I like to be observant over posts and be really careful in what I say, because I'm worried that I might hurt other ponies' feelings by saying the wrong things sometimes.

Not usually. I'll usually read the first page and the last page before replying, but that's about it.

At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.

Depends on the topic, the length of the thread and my patience.  I might read a few after reading the first post and a few posts that come before mine if the thread is really long(like a few pages like this one).  If it's a short thread, sure, I'll read the entire thing.

It depends, if it is a mega thread or has a ton of pages then I'm most likely not to read the entire thread. If it is a thread in debate symposium and has only a few pages, then I might read most of it to gain an understanding of what others are saying and what arguments have taken place. It also depends on how I'm feeling at the moment and how interested I am in the topic.

I can easily make a fool out of myself whether or not I read everyone else’s posts.

That being said it depends on how many pages are in the thread. If there’s only a couple then yeah I go through and read what everybody else has said. But some of the other larger threads with a lot of pages I don’t read through.
