On a site called "conceptart.org" saw some of the art but I thought it was to girly, that was 2011 when I saw that, 3 years later I saw it again on deviantart.com and then I went on Wikipedia and searched it up, discovered the fandom, laughed a little.

but then I thought I would try it out, after the first episode I was hooked because of pinkie pie and fluttershy.

loved it ever since.

I bought a gen 3 blind bag from my local supermarket and spent my idle hours at my job (the shop was always empty!) combing Scootaloo's hair. I stumbled upon FIM by browsing the youtube app on tablets I was assigned to sell at my next job.

I was on YouTube watching a funny ad about pickups and this ad compared this pickup to a generic "competitor" pickup. It was talking about horsepower and how it's important so that the pickup can brave the mud and go off-road. So when the owner of the competitor opened the hood, instead of an engine, there would be a carousel with pink ponies jumping all over saying how they hate the mud.

In the comment section there was a dude saying "These ponies got nothing on Pinkie Pie".

So I googled Pinkie Pie, found about the cartoon and decided to see what it was all about. Started from the first episode and haven't stopped yet. ^_^

For dumb, self-important fics about mythology, ponies and fascist griffons that can't figure friendship out.

And I'm just getting started.

Well, I already knew about past generations of MLP, and I'd actually watched a bit of the first gen when I was a kid.  The recent series?  Idunno for sure; think I saw the "new" ponies and new art style on the cover of a coloring book or some such thing.  Some time later, the internet told me what a "Brony" was lol.  I initially watched only two episodes on Netflix and didn't give the show a real chance.  But RD, that blue siren of a ponywoman!!  She called me back to try it out in earnest.  So's, I bought the first season and discovered that I genuinely enjoy it.  Perhaps there was this wall of slight embarrassment I had to get through first.  Also, I followed the route of NSFW stuff ----> the actual show, and I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to separate the two in my mind.

I knew MLP was around before generation 4 but I never bothered with it let alone care for it. I passed by my sister watching season 1 on netflix and I was like psh looks different but I bet it's the same. Of course I decided to watch it without watching it.. so to speak. When I had to baby sit my sister I would no seriously watch it with her not giving it a chance but just to see what it is. That's how I found out about it. Now becoming a brony I ended up getting a song from one of my friends called Discord (The Living Tombstone Remix) I am sure everyone has heard it lol. After that I started listening to more and more brony music then I started watching the shorts. I finally "gave in" then watched the show from where I left off with my sister at season 2. I became a brony in January and joined the heard March  :D .

During 2011 I was a heavy DeviantArt user, and during that time MLP was EVERYWHERE on DA. You could barely go anywhere without seeing ponies. And I had liked the previous generations as a little girl, so I had to check it out.

Long exposition time!
Well my friend and I watched it on a dare one day in 2011, we had heard it from various bits around the web, 'hated' a bit per say. "See who becomes a brony last by watching the show".  The season 1 two parter I believe.   It could have been our sarcasm over it but neither of us became very interested it was not mentioned between the two of us for a long time.  Cut to two years later, late 2013 school is almost later and I'm in Speech and Debate with my bearded friend who had been a brony forever but didn't really push it on anyone.  I'm scribbling some drawings of Pokemon down instead of listening to the lecture as per usual.  I finish my glorious drawing of an Electrode when he speaks up, "Hey could I have that?".  I had no idea why he wanted my drawing of a circle with eyes but I handed it to him anyways.  Later that same day I had a feeling out of nowhere to watch the show, I thought my sleep deprivation was catching up to me so I suppressed it for about a week before I said "Fine, if I want to watch that dammed two parter again I'll do it!"  That entire Summer was spent watching all 3 seasons and watching various Pony-Youtube videos.  It was at this time that I looked at myself and said, "Oh God, I have turned."  I hid my secret from everyone that following fall when school started up again.  Cut to October;  I was at a sleepover with a different friend of mine, a shortish pudgy dwarf-fanatic.  It was there when I learned that the same guy that I had watched the two parter with two years ago had been converted by his cousin the past week.  This dragged me out of the shadows and his first words to me were "Ha! I won the bet!"

TL;DR: I always lose my bets.

It was some time in late 2011/early 2012 that I had run into the word "brony" for the first time. I didn't know what it meant but I came to the conclusion that it was bro + pony. It was around March that time that I heard about MLP. I had looked into it and the fanbase was growing. So I decided to check it out. I watched one episode (I think it was Bridle Gossip). Didn't touch MLP again until about mid-June. Late June/early July, I decided that I am a brony :D

It has a topic on 2 forums I was: The Nohomers Club (a Simpsons forum) and MysteryShack (a Gravity Falls forum), so I decided to give it a try.

A friend told me about it, who knew I'd like it. I never had a phase where I was skeptical.

It was just like

"hey they made a new My Little Pony, it's really good"

"yeah? Okay lets watch. Wow, this is really good"

"RIGHT?"

I walked in on my sister while she was watching an episode and I asked her what it was. Then she just told me all about it and I was immediately interested and then I watched an episode and realized that I am a brony.  :D

I was an MLP lover since Generation 1, so its not a matter of finding out. But when I realized that Gen 1 - 3 were never gonna satisfy my nolstigia, I locked my love of ponies up thinking it was gonna stay there with my inner child.

I found OUT about MLP FIM though while browsing on youtube. I didn't see the show, merely heard about it and glanced some vids being hosted on Youtube. I avoided it though thinking that it would ruin my nolstgia of what I grew up with.

But as the months passed and more and more vids kept popping up on Youtube...I finally just gave in and gave the first season of 1 and 2 a try. And lord behold I LOVED IT! It didn't ruin my inner pony child of my love for the show, it opened up a chance to reconnect with my innerchild. Reminding me why I loved ponies all over again!

I'm just a silly little alicorn, trying to get by in the fandom ^^

I was on the Jurassic Park Legacy forums when a lot of people had pony avatars. I PMed one of the the members about it and they explained everything to me. I did think it was kinda weird at the time, actually. Never thought I've be a Brony myself.

I've always found the look of the show very appealing.  In the past, I've even slowed down as I walked past a FIM toy display at Target or something, and I would wistfully think, "I wish I could like that.  It looks so great."  But I wasn't really listening to my own thoughts.  It wasn't until I watched the brony discussion episode of Good Mythical Morning that I was suddenly inspired to pull up an episode of MLP on demand and try it.  And now, here I am.  Got all seasons on DVD.  I'm an MLP maniac.  Sometimes it takes an unexpected catalyst to break an unhelpful thought cycle and get you to try something that always wanted to.  And I only stumbled onto GMM by accident as well.  I had never heard of it before about three months ago.  It's interesting to trace back the paths that took us where we are.  What video did I watch that happened to cause a GMM to pop up in the related video pane?  If it wasn't for that, I may never have found my way here.

It may have been late 2010. Was talking to my gf at the time (now ex) and she brought up this thing about a new MLP show and what's happening of 4chan. There were pony threads and everything but since it was 4chan, I just couldn't decode anything. I thought it was all just some kind of stupid joke or fad so I just brushed it off.

In mid 2011 however, a thread about the show popped up on the Metroid forums I'm a regular at. The connection between the two separate events clicked immediately and I started getting curious. The OP made the claim that it's a huge thing in other places where people sported pony avatars and such so I checked it out for myself and that's what I found. People were talking about this.

All I had to remember MLP by at the time was a TV commercial I really hated mostly because of the song. But seeing people seemingly all over the place (in my eyes) talking about it, liking it... Unlike the first event, these were not anonymous meat heads but included people I respected. That's what got me to give it a chance. The rest is history.

Just sitting there thinking what all the craze about ponies was, so I decided to go take a look.

2 days/nights later and there I am having finished every single episode of mlp up to that point.
2 nights without sleep just for mlp
2 days just coz I had nothing else to do

#marathon

STILL WORTH IT THOUGH!!!
