I'd say she styles it, because in one of the S1 episodes (I forget which one) she works for several days without taking a break, and her mane becomes a little... out of order.

I'd say both. Her mane is just like that because she made it like that. She just trained her mane to grow in a certain way from lots of styling, I think.

So, uhh... what do you guys think about Rarity doing things that are out of character for her? I know there's a bit of debate about what is and isn't considered outside her character to be doing, but here's a strip I came across that-- (No.. not THAT kind of strip!) --made me think about it. Would Rarity ever be 'ruined' for you by doing something outside her established personality?

It depends on what it is. If it clashed with what we've seen of her, then yes. If not, I doubt it.  :grin2:

I like this one. It's really different. The forest is so dark and somber, yet Rarity is so absorbed in Applejack and Applejack is so absorbed in apples that they don't really mind.

We need two people who can post on here a lot. I can post on here, but not a lot. We need to get to 1000, and with two of the biggest Rarity fans gone, we have slowed down. We can reach 1000 if we all work together, though. One person cannot do this alone, though. (We can't post two posts in a row.) I'm pretty sure that there is a lot to talk about with Rarity. In fact, there is so much to to talk about her that we can write a long book about her. You know, that's actually not a bad idea. I just suck at writing about other characters. I'm more of a story writer, not a biography writer. I can't even write a good about me section, and I'm supposed to know myself really well.

That is unless Rarity's mane works like G1 ponies, and it grows back fast. (I doubt it, though.) It's not like Sweetie Belle can get the Element of Generosity necklace and put it on Rarity so that the mane grows back. It's gone. Sweetie Belle is so dead. Although, Rarity would exclaim how she's going to kill Sweetie Belle then talk to her in a mature manner telling her to not cut other ponies' manes.
