Also, the whole Lauren Faust thing you linked confirmed again that i chose the best pony, not that there ever was any doubt... Well, to say that is wrong, its was best pony that chose me, not the other way around... Thank you so much for linking it, Whatevs. It kinda made my morning.

 

Funny how Raritys creation, and Lauren Faust, was pleaqued with the same struggle with an uncaring and cold industry that Rarity had to fight against, and like Rarity, Lauren managed to prevail and hold to her values. No wonder she feels a kinship to her.

You know, a bit of a change in topic, but I was watching something about A Dog and Pony Show on YouTube, and I'm mildly annoyed about the responses it STILL gets. Usually along the lines of, "Remember kids, whining gets you what you want". As if Rarity is spoiled for whining at the Diamond Dogs.

 

First of all, she was doing it on purpose, and exaggerating it a lot. And it was hilarious.

Second of all, who cares?

 

Does everyone forget she was kidnapped and being held against her will by multiple characters who were trying to force her into physical labor? She took advantage of the fact that while they were bigger than her, they were also dumber than her, and simply decided to annoy the crap out of them until they submitted and let her go. She shouldn't be scolded for that. If whining gets you out of slave labor, then you wail like banshee, Rarity!

Yeah, she found out that the Diamond Dogs could be fought with her complaining, and she expoited that achilles heel of them. She was both smart and incredibly brave. She was even pretty sweet to the mutts at first, she wanted to search gems for them.

It was only after the dogs made it clear that they would keep her as slave, force her to dig, and would not let her go, that she thought to herself: Now im going to give those mutts a right what for!

 

And she did, and it was glorious! And all without hurting someone...

 

Well, apart from the ears of the dogs i guess.

 

 

 

 

But they only have to blame themselves... They should know that one has to treat Rarity like she deserves... Like a goddess...

And "Suited for success" was actually first episode, what stunned me. Visual effects on presenting the dresses was great (maybe best visual of S1?) and "Art of dress" song makes me nod the head with rythm

Well to be fair buddy, doing the right thing after you've been lying isn't that bad when you look at what Twilight was dealing with.

Sure most of Twilight's fears were just in her own head, but as someone with an anxiety disorder, I totally get where she was coming from. She had to confront the fact that she had failed to do something and believed was going to be punished for it and taken from her friends, even though there was nothing she could have done. Even if Rarity had been rejected by the elite, she'd still have all her friends.

 

Also Rarity groveled at Celestia's feet in the same episode you mentioned.

 

 

She's not THAT proud. But she IS hilarious. <3

 

(Rarity lovers don't take offense, I just don't like it went other ponies are criticized in an attempt to make another look good. Rarity doesn't need anyone to look bad so that she can look good. She ALWAYS looks good. X3)
