This thread is talking about the beauty of the ponies. A lot of people focused on their looks, which for FlutterShy is pretty easy to see why she would be on this list of beauties. However... What a lot of people seemed to neglect was the inner beauty. While, yes, on the outside, FlutterShy does have extreme beauty on the outside, she also has a beauty inside...

 

She is kind, she is caring, she is loving, she puts others above herself. She is very easy going, preferring others' happiness to her own. She is gentle & warm & wouldn't be caught dead hurting others intentionally. Yes, FlutterShy (on the outside) is beautiful... But I would argue what is inside is even more beautiful...

I think it really isn't the strongest thing ever... Could be a whole lot better, & I have always felt Dislestia made more sense, since both are beings of immense power... Really it is more like one of those ships that feels like when you go to school & people say "Oh, this guy & this girl are good friends, I wonder if they are ever going to date each other?" It is possible, but that doesn't mean that it is 100% de-facto-mundo. Besides I have a ship I have been debating on for awhile... Might bring it up here one day & see what everyone has to say

I won't say I hate Fluttercord, I am not going around venomously attacking every ship I see but don't like. I just don't see it being a very viable thing...

 

Secondly I have always said that show shipping (where the show itself actually ships) would ruin the idea of the show which is to have female characters who don't fall into tropes i.e. love life. Well ok "ruin" might be a bit strong but you get the idea, it just doesn't seem like something the show would do.

 

Also I don't see how it could be something more than just a friendship, they aren't doing that much together really. I haven't read through all the comics, but the comics =/= the show & rumors are just rumors, besides friends can be jealous of a lack of attention as well. As for the headwriter... They still have to abide by some rules, so just because one guy is all for it doesn't mean it will become truth.

 

Finally friendship =/= romantic ship, since I could say that the entire Mane 6 will fall in love with each other just because they are close friends. The only real difference between saying FlutterShyx*Insert one of remaining Mane 5 here* & FlutterCord is the fact that Discord is a male draconeques. That isn't really enough basis to make it canon

It's the best for all if no kind of shipping is introduced, especially with already established characters.

Yeah... Truth be told, I just find shipping a fun, cute little thing to do. Like, ok, here is my ship; LunaShy. Why? Because I think it is really cute & I have a funny enough reason that works for me to do it. No one else ships them, & that is fine by me. At the end of the day, all my shipping is is just a bunch of silly fun to pass the time

Yeah, I actually wouldn't mind Dislestia going canon, either. Ever since the S4 finale with the whole flowers thing, i'm thinking it's entirely possible for the whole ship to become canon in just about no time.

WELL, since this is the Fluttershy fan club and all, I suppose this is where I can post the reasons why Fluttershy is best pony (at least to me).

Prepare yourself, emotions incoming.

 

Right off the bat, I knew Fluttershy was going to be my favorite character. There was just something about the way she looked, moved, and spoke that made her seem so innocent, so adorable. As the seasons and episodes went on, I started to realize how alike we were. We're both really shy around new people, but rather open and comfortable around those we're close to. We're both a bit under spoken, and we have our problems being assertive towards others. I was really starting to like Flutters, and then the one episode hit. Hurricane Fluttershy.

 

To this day, there's been no greater representation of what life in middle school was like for me. I was always that one kid that got picked on because he couldn't preform at the level the others in gym class. I faced the typical name-calling, the regular comments thrown along with them, but most importantly, the isolation. I went and told countless adults, including some of the gym coaches, a few other teachers, and even my parents. Regardless, the bullying never stopped, and I left middle school knowing that times could never be worse.

 

This, I feel, is what really helped me connect with Flutters, as the whole experience left me self-conscious about every last thing that I did. Tripped on the stairs? Everyone must be laughing at me right now. Let in a goal during a hockey game? Everyone saw and is now talking about how awful I am. These are only a few of the assumptions I made based on regular occurrences, regardless of whether they were true or not- much like Flutters in the episode.

 

Lastly, overcoming her fear is one of the most inspiring things I've seen to date, mostly because of how well I can relate to her situation. I made me realize that Fluttershy isn't only my favorite pony- she's my hero. She's the kind of person I want to be when I finally finish maturing.

 

Well, I apologize to those that stuck through to the end to read that, but it's something I've really needed to get out there for a while.

 

 

TL;DR: Fluttershy is best pony.
