gaming Nostalgic games

The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening.

The music, the graphics; both entirely relatable to a great Gameboy game. And the story was pretty good as well, not to mention the funny humour.

I was only six months old when I started playing games, back then I didn't just suck I had no control at all I would just bash at the keyboard all day till my parents got me off our old family rig.

I remember when I played my first video game back in '98.I got this disc called ''The Gold 100'' it had the top 100 games of the 1994 to 1998 era for PC.I played every single one of those games except mario because I got tired of not finding the right castle everytime.

Then in 2000 I played Need For Speed 2:Special Edition, the high-speed thrills and thanks to my being young the graphics off the game looked like something from Gran Turismo 5.

I remember Christmas one year, I opened up a present from "Santa" excitedly to find a Gameboy color and pokemon Red AND blue! My brother played blue, I took red and we had some much fun. Twas my first RPG experience and I absolutely loved it. It's just one of those things that me and my brother never gave up (my brother is 12 years older than me and I'm 21) just like Magic the Gathering and online gaming.

Also, does anyone remember Duck Hunt? My brother had a NES for a very short while (it was used and died in like 2 weeks) and with it came Mario brothers and Duck Hunt. At the time I already owned Super Mario All stars so I didn't play the mario game much but that Duck Hunt... DUCK HUNT!!!!

  • 8 months later...

Before hand I want to apologize for any errors in this text I'm typing this on my phone.

Okay, for me this is a no brainer. Pokèmon. I played this game for probably over 5000 hours in combined time. Sounds crazy I know but its true. Before I got into computers and console games I would just play Pokèmon ALL day. Now when I go to the newer games it just isn't the same. I simply can't play the new ones like diamond and pearl, black and white. When I go back to the original games like yellow and crystal its like no other feeling I've ever had. Simply put it is nostalgia. So I ask you what is your most nostalgic game and why?

Probably Crash Bandicoot 3 : Warped for the PS1

I was a big fan of the Crash Bandicoot games when I was 8 or 9...

I finished the game like ten times or so.

And when I didn't own the game yet, I wanted to play it, badly.

Same thing for the Sonic games on the Megadrive when I was even younger.

It's not the typical "ancient" game, but prolly the Ultima series and Ultima Online, as well as Baldur's gate. Mostly because I think that even today they are often much better in every aspect than the modern games and get all happy when I think about all the stuff I did in those games. Especially Ultima Online. I wonder if we'll ever see a game that allows you to do so much stuff and especially RP.

-Sly Cooper. I remember convincing one of my friends I knew the CEO of Sly and that I could pick him up a copy if he gave me some of his cookies ( Back in elementary) I've also played just about every game start to finish

Good times..

Battlefield 3.

I love the gameplay and graphics it has to offer, and all the action causes such an adrenaline rush. I also love the teamwork it has to offer as well. I just got some sick gaming headphones for it too, and I am just beyond amazed. Besides some players though, they can ruin the game >.>

Super Mario 64 hands down, one of the (In my opinion) best Mario games created, and holds tons of value to me, playing as a child filled with joy, always brings me back, awesome game.

The original Final Fantasy for the nes. I still remember my mom playing it when I was a baby. Whenever I play it, memories of her and the old apartment we use to live in come back to me.

Personally, for me it's the original Fallout games. Fallout 1 is among the few Granddaddies of the golden era of pc gaming. Although I spent more time with Fallout 2, which expanded on its predecessor's features in many ways, but unfortunately was riddled with buggy content.

Also, honorable mentions go to Ultima Online (damn you soul-sucking time sink!).

This is a hard one. I would have to say either Pokemon Yellow or Super Smash Bros Melee. Pokemon Yellow because it was the first game I ever picked up. Super Smash Bros because I have a lot of amazing memories of playing against my cousin from when I was little, now I play it with my nieces. So first game ever played vs. memories, I cant pick.

Mario cart DD for me, its one of the first games I ever played and was good at. thoe I don't have a working copy thanks to my brother. But at least I still love the game and my brother.

Theirs that and theirs Halo CE witch used to give me awsome nightmares, and turned me into the gamer I am today.

So take your pick at witch ones beast.

I will, as per the usual, be the only one to say: Grim Fandango.

The hours I spent replaying that game over and over...it's done more for me than any human.

It's what started me on trumpet, after the fabulous soundtrack.

It's the first game I beat by myself.

It's what started me on the track of video game design.

Olivia Ofrenda was and still is my hero.

I began to write after that marvelous dialogue.

There's so much more...all in all, this is timeless.
