Marshall Amplifier Price Rage!

Blue Lightning

Recommended Posts

I remember a Marshall Stack I was going to buy way back a couple of years ago. It was worth about as much as my guitar which is a great deal considering Marshall Amps go for about $2000 at least. The price was $1600 for a JVM Head and Cab and now I can't find it so now I'm raging! But not that hard as I found some pretty great deals at a sam ash in my local area! I can probably get a Stack for cheaper than $1600, but it just makes me wish I had a Job that could only make enough money for this Amp in 1/4th of a Year! I know Stacks are for live playing, and I'd love to play live but I need people to back me up live! It's so aggravatingly hilarious I JUST CAN'T STAD IT LOL!!!

Any other guitarists have any suggestions for Amps?

Check out the Fender Mustang series. If you aren't playing live, you won't need anything NEAR a half stack. That is more live gear than anything. Honestly, a lot of musicians are just playing through smaller amps mic'd up to a P.A. I have some live gear ('77 Yamaha head with 2 cabinets with 2 10 inch MTX speakers in each one) and I never play through it unless I'm playing a show. Playing around the house, I use a Fender Mustang 1. It has all sorts of features on it and even comes with Ableton and a built in tuner. It has a 1/8in headphone jack and editable effects. Best thing is, I picked it up for $100 BRAND NEW. It is plenty loud enough to piss the neighbors off and it sounds excellent. Probably the best $100 I have ever spent as far as music gear goes.

I've only used 2 amps so far and both are for my bass guitar but ampeq is pretty nice cuz it just about broke my door off its hinges when I played the resonance frequency of my wall, and line6 amps are a nice combination of sound quality and effects  capability for the price.

Line 6 is junk. The effects sound cheap and they use too many processors. They have too much of a delay. I have been playing guitar since I was 12, I'll be 25 next month. I have been in 4 bands. The Mustang is a great amp in every aspect.
