Which is worse: guns or knives?

Which item do you think is worse-guns or knives? By knifes i mean by using them to kill people,not for cooking.So which one do you think is worse to get hurt by?

It depends on the type of gun and the type of knife really getting stabbed with a butcher knife is pretty bad but not as bad as getting shot with an AK47 but getting stabbed with a steak knife and show with a basic handgun like a PP7 would probably be just as bad unless the handgun was a revolver or something. I would probably say overall though they are both just as bad.

Someone with a knife you could dodge away with ease

But someone with a gun would be hard to escape

Since guns can shoot further than arms length distance

I'll say that guns are much easier to kill with since they generally have more range. Plus it's easier to accidentally hurt someone with a gun than a knife because people can get caught in the cross fire.

Depends on how you use them. Self defense is great, because what if a bad guy comes up and like threatens you. You have the right to shoot...or if your being kidnapped and have a knife? Stab the bitch! But yes...murderers use them for bad. Mostly knives because gun shots can be heard miles away, but using a knife could easily be hidden. Reason why those weapons are made is for protection, but the wrong people use them wrong. Guns and knives don't kill people, the murderers with guns and knives do!

A gun would be more worse than a knife, not only because of range, but you can put a silencer on the gun to keep quiet and the bullet well shed metal in your body that can poison you.

This poll is biased. Where's the "Neither one of them are bad, it's the person using it that's bad" option? You have a "Both of them are horrible" option, but not a "Neither one of them are bad" option? That doesn't make sense.

 

Anyways, I'd say the knife is worse than the gun. With a gun, you just pull the trigger. With a knife, you're stabbing it into their body. Much more messy and violent than a simple shot to the head.

Guns, because they are very hard to dodge/escape from unless, your very skilled with dodging reflexes. Knives on the other hand, you can basically leave marks & cuts on a person. Guns can leave holes through a body depending on the speed of the bullets per minute. Knives are deadly, but Guns are more of a deadly weapon in history. So guns get this one.

Guns I feel are definitely more dangerous and can cause a hell if a lot more damage. Knives, like you said, have multiple purposes. Guns, most of them anyway, have one purpose. To kill.

 

While I'm not anti-guns or anything like that, I feel like guns lead to disasters if they are mishandled or used by a killer/other person. I am fully aware, however, that a gun is only as dangerous as the person using it.

I am going to say knives because they are so easy to get. Not to mention there are back ground checks for dangerous guns which are all guns and things like gun training. The sad thing with knives is im talking about the sword collectors who have 300k plus swords and like to pretend they are samuri on the weekends yet have no martial arts training. we require people to train with guns not knives hoever there is my justification for why knives are more dangerous. as

They are both bad.. but truth be told.. knifes are not made for "killing" other ponies.. just for skinning etc . I think you are thinking of Daggers, but that's ok. anyway

 

Both are bad because they help end lives but at the same time anything could kill anyone at any point in time... so in the truth of the matter they are not that bad..

Well, I say knives are worse. While guns take the heat because you can fire and do tons of damage at multiple people without a sweat, knives are everywhere. You can outlaw guns-other than a few purposes, they don't mean much. Knives are everywhere and you can get them anywhere. They are the legal weapons that you don't need to sign for.  They do tons of damage and can kill as effectively. That's why I think knives are worse.

Which would be worse to get hurt by? Well, I shudder at the thought of being attacked with a knife. When I close my eyes, I see a terrifying scene of a murderer taking their time with repeated stabbings. A gunshot would dispatch me quicker; it would still be bloody painful, but at least the pain would end sooner...

 

However, if I wasn't already down for the count, a man armed with a knife would be easier to get away from. It has much less range and there's a chance of survival.

Depends on where you get hit. If it's supposed to kill, then a dagger is worse than gun, because it kills slower.

 

Other than that, gun. Gun is a cowardly weapon, and the minimum damage caused is still painful. You might just get some scratches which can recover in two weeks if you were fighting someone with a knife. A gun is likely to kill more than a knife, and death isn't a light business. It's better to stay alive with some flesh wound than to die. Imagine that. Killed by a cowardly weapon.

Well, that depends on the situation. You can still do lots of damage and conceal it faster. It also depends on location. If I recall, during the time of Newton Connecticut shootings, there was a man that managed to kill a bus load of people in China or something. He didn't use a gun for that, he used a knife or something similar. Even if it was smaller, used correctly, it can be deadly. Plus, knives can be used for multiple reasons, so you can be excused quicker.  At least, in my opinion.

True, can't argue that. We've been hearing so much recently. So, I agree with that. Though, they are tightening up gun laws. Though, knives are found everywhere. I'd say a tie, the availability makes the guns seem like the wrong answer. While, on the other hoof, Guns can deal huge amounts of damage in a swift blow. Then again, a knife doesn't need to be reloaded and its silent. If your willing to kill a person quietly, that's the weapon of choice. However, much more mass shootings occur. The guns are more dangerous in that aspect.  

 

Its not a fair judgement using knives though...doesn't seem very fair to compare two different things when they are deadly in different scenarios.
