In the long term, the huge brony community will die off. But then a smaller community will fill its place. I know its relating to games, but I've seen it with MMOs.

Time for Discord to go on a rampage of necro-bumping. Everypony loves zombie topics <3 Oh, and don't worry Omnipony, because:

I, too, am a believer in what Lauren has done in the past being a good ball-park measurement. The Powerpuff Girls and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends both lasted for six seasons, and neither of those shows became an absolute global internet phenomena like this show has. Lauren may be 'off' the staff now, but the fact remains that she originally brought the show into existence, and who runs it now is doing a fantastic job of keeping that spark of what interests everyone, still inside the show. The way I see it, five or six seasons is in the bag.

And so, it eventually ends. So what? The fanbase for something this utterly massive and ground-breaking in terms of media and gender neutrality will not die suddenly just due to the show officially ending. That's not how fanbases work. And with this one especially, one that has proven to be both mature, and full of talented artists, musicians, writers and other artists that have created literally, mountains upon mountains of amazing fan-media, this show will take a decade or more to become all but forgotten, perhaps even more.

Yes!!!! Ah good sir, this pleases me. You have my seal of approval!

Very poignant. I likewise agree. For a truly astounding example of our endurance . . .

. . . We can make our own spin-offs. . . . . I think we're good! B)

When the show is cancelled, many attempts will be made to keep the comunity alive, it will work for a month where everyone will be dedicated, but eventually people will drop off, until at some stage it's a small group of people who don't even know each other.

For the fandom as a whole, it shall exist, even if small, for many decades, even after the show is gone, and shall be recorded as a major movement in history. Why? Because of how dedicated the fandom is and the effect it has had already and what it will inevitably become.

I shall remain a brony 'till I no longer draw breath. MLP shall be passed on to my children, and I'll show them the wonders of the show so they may cherish it for their lifetimes. And thus the pony cycle continues.

I just want it to go on as long as it can. Even if it goes into decline, I think it will exist for quite a while, even after the show ceases to air.

At least I hope the community lasts, and doesnt end up with just a few isolated nuts as the only remnants of what was. (Could happen someday, but I hope it doesnt anytime soon)

Imagine in about 60 years, someone stumbles upon an archive filled with Internet phenomena, and one of them happens to be MLP: FIM, complete with all its seasons finished and aired. The person, amazed at how good this particular form of entertainment is, shares it through the internet (well, obviously more advanced than the current internet we have today), thus sparking the second movement of bronykind which lasts even longer than this one.

That. . . Sounds like a perfect idea for a fanfiction. . . I'd write it but I'm currently too busy to do it.

Star Trek fandom continues to this day. Not nearly as large as it once was for certain, but that show is what, 50, 55 years old? (I'm too lazy to look it up at the moment.) I imagine FiM will continue to have a large following for a very long time, and that the whole fandom will never completely die out. Bronies may come and go, but there are those of us who are dedicated and love the show enough to keep the love and tolerance alive for years to come.

It probably will go for a bit after the show eventually ends, then it will just become a bunch of people who like the same show.

I do wonder if the phenomenon will be more well remembered than the actual show. I hope not. I won't get into what I believe about "love and tolerance" being a motto, but hopefully it won't be needed and people will remember it for its merit.

What will happen? MLP will get another reboot. Over. And. Over. And. Over. It will go on.
