Considering how popular it is I don't doubt it will last at least another two or three past the three already planned. But look at it this way: Show's like Spongebob are still going and many believe that show got stale after the third season due to change of writers. Now...Faust has mostly left MLP's team but overall things haven't seemed to change too drastically, though I would argue it's only gotten better, and it's still going strong. I imagine it will go for a long while yet, though I could never say how long that is particularly since I (obviously) don't work for them.

I'd say at most 20 seasons. The first five following the usual cliches of the cartoon industry, the next five based upon truly original ideas, the next five start as usual cliche plots and introduce a major badguy (one that makes the past few look like kittens), and the final five, the characters are fully developed and spend five seasons with mixes between an overarching plot and the small episodic ideas teaching morals, ending with a super-awesome final battle.

Honestly, I would like it to stop with the thirteen episodes confirmed for season three, and a finale movie. The longer a series go, the quality usually suffers; I'd rather have three kickass completed seasons than seven more subpar ones. Unless the awesome guys at Studio B can keep the show fresh akin to something like The Simpsons or South Park, I would want them to essentially "quit while their ahead."

For those concerned about the fandom dying off once the show ends, don't be. If anything, we as the brony community would probably grow stronger as more importance would be placed on fan projects and charities than the show itself; the community would have a more solidified sense of self.

And hey, when the show ends, it would call for an increase in the quality of fanfictions since all the facts about the land of Equestria and the characters have been finalized. ;)

Given the increased popularity, I hope they consider extending the amount of episodes past the already confirmed syndication requirement. I think DHX wouldn't have a problem keepin the show quality up with at least a couple more seasons, if Hasbro seems convinced that it'll help them in marketing.

Foster's Home and the PPG went up to 5+ seasons. I see the same thing happening with MLP considering its huge fanbase which is growing every day (mind you, I'm basing off this idea alone). Oh yeah, it's also a Faust cartoon.

It'll probably last longer than the announced three seasons. Since the Hub is a new network, they need all the hits they can get to establish themselves as competitors to Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon. I doubt they'll kill off one of their most popular shows when it's starting to hit it's prime.

It's supposed to last three seasons, but the show's immensely popular. I wouldn't be surprised if its production were to be extended for another three to four seasons as a result.

I see it going on to at least 5 seasons. With as popular as the show is while its only in its second season, it has a pretty long run still left in it, I'd say. It also really depends on how long the writers can keep the show fresh and interesting, which I see going on for a while because of the excellent job they've done so far. As long as toys sales and ratings are decent, then we should expect a long run

but of course, once Hasbro begins running out of things to sell, they will be looking at a new form of ponies (maybe this will turn into something like Kamen Rider/Yu-Gi-OH! where the series are just as great)

okay ponies, give me all your treasure.

I highly doubt they'll stop after 3. The show is really popular

Of course, I know that. But I just got this feeling...

Have no idea, but as long as they got the community's interest, I hope they'll continue making episodes.

But many of the staff members said in an article that they didn't want to work with ponies forever, so I wouldn't be surprised if we see people leaving after S3.

It will continue, I just hope motorcycles don't get into the mix.

Because we all know about motorcycles, and their franchise killing powers.

Objection! Hold it! Take that! Gotcha! Eureka!

I like video games and anime.

I wish we could comply with the rest and say forever... but nothing lasts forever. At some point Hasbro is going to run out of ideas not only for lessons, but the show itself. It is up to US, THE FANDOM, to continue on this trend!

Great adventuring for great treasures!....Except when I'm hurt...
