I would really like to get everpony's views on the average brony hating stereotypes....
What if "Love and Tolerate" isn't enough in these situations?

Any kind of "hating stereotypes" are so absolutely stupid, that they're irrelevant to me.

I'm not going to put value to some moron's opinion/word.

Well I don't really care about all the hating steriotypes. I have not gotten any hate against myself for being a brony so that's probably one of the reasons why.

Also, "love and tolerate" does apparently not mean as much to the community anymore as it used to.

My veiw on the haters is they are incredibly insecure. Most of the haters I have come across have never given it a chance to even base why they think it is so bad, so they go with the horribly wrong accusations that just makes me feel...empty inside sometimes. I then just respond to them that they need to do some homework before they start up arguments.

Why do i feel "empty"? I get like that because i am disgusted by how this generation of people act, and re-act to others. In reality, what they say to me doesn't bother me at all, it is the fact they think like they do. That really disturbs me how insecure they are over T.V. shows, and their own identity insecurities as they obviously feel threatened for a idiotic reason.

Love and tolerance means a lot to me, I try to bear with it, but every once in a while there is that one guy that is just complete filth. I don't tolerate filth.

Just like we don't appreciate anti-Bronies coming to arguments with generalisation in hand, I don't think we should employ the same. I know that there are people who hate Bronies out there with merited reasons to do so, because one of them is my long-time Internet friend. Like many others, he wishes Bronies would just enjoy the show as a group without trying to get others into it if they don't want to. He's become more accepting when I agreed with him though; he says "You make it seem so mature."

Because I absolutely despise generalising, I'll say that most Brony haters seem like clones. The figure covered by the word Most will always use the exact same arguments to justify hating the show and fandom, and when it comes to actually discussing it they will never form a reasonable argument.

If someone is beyond considering any of my reasons for being a Brony, and they start to parrot, I always say "Say what you will, but in the end Bronies have way more fun than Brony haters do." Always gets them thinking. smile.png

I must admit I have a hard time with all this-not for any other reason than that, you need to be careful who you share things that matter to you with.

Love and tolerate is all very well, but it becomes progressively more difficult when things like your family and life choices are being attacked.

I work in security, and as such, am used to playing things pretty close to the vest. I don't discuss my faith, my family or my choices of entertainment with people, as I have a tendency to get emotional about those subjects.

Whenever you give people information about yourself, you're making yourself vulnerable to them. Choose wisely.

It's common to fear and hate what one doesn't understand, sadly. Anything a hater says - no matter the fandom - is typically based on misinformation and ignorance, not to mention the fact that a good chunk of society is set in its old ways; guys must be exclusively into manly things, lest they be deemed "gay" forever.

Me, I say anypony who feels threatened by a TV show, especially one originally intended for little girls, must be living a sad existence to begin with. I mean, I detest Jersey Shore because it personally insults my intelligence. But I don't feel so threatened by it that I have to put down those who get enjoyment out of watching it. Shoot, its fans probably know just as well as I do that they're watching complete garbage.

Love and tolerate is nice in theory, but that theory assumes that "bullies get bored and leave if you ignore them long enough". They often don't, sadly. Best we can do is refrain from feeding the trolls, and take pains not to further the stereotype that bronies are all a bunch of cultist zealots looking to convert everypony. I think that's probably their biggest gripe with bronies as a whole.

People don't tend to give personal information to strangers. And not disregarding your own personal feelings, but I don't think being a brony makes you as vulnerable as say being homosexual might for some.

If someone hates on your family, that is one thing. But someone hating on you over a T.V show is just silly. And they shouldn't be taken seriously. Most haters I have come across have no idea what FiM is about, and never bothered to think of rational reasons for why they don't like it. They just jump on the unoriginal band-wagon of nonsensical accusations.

I don't usually pay attention to haters, and especially stereotypes brought on a show that people enjoy. It makes no sense.

There is like no need to even speak to a hater, they are basically just talking nonsense. Stereotypes, are just something that in society that we just can't stand because, people just like to look down on a person that is different. It's like this, if your different and you don't follow what they like or believe in then they will label you as someone that is different and someone that is not normal.

So, this is about stereotypes that haters use against Bronies?

*Takes a puff on pipe*

You know, the one stereotype I hate the most is that we all shove it in people's faces. I realize that perhaps there a few Bronies who like to share it with everypony, but from what I've seen, Bronies shove it in people's faces about as much as everypony else shoves pretty much everything in other people's faces.

Honestly, I hate that part of the stereotype because that means I can't even bring up the show without me being accused of shoving it in people's faces. I get talked to about Adventure Time, Regular Show, Doctor Who, The Walking Dead, Star Wars, Football, Basketball, Baseball, and a whole manner of things all the time and yet I don't accuse those people of shoving it in my face. Especially with World of Warcraft... don't even get me started on that.

So that's the main stereotype I hate. I also hate the accusation that we're all pedophiles or that we're all cloppers, although I have nothing against cloppers at all.
