I've always theorized that Rainbow's sudden love of reading (and obsession with Daring Do) was directly caused by brain damage sustained from this crash. After all, if it was hard enough to shatter bone, how would have brain tissue, which is the first thing to hit the ground, fared?

You make it sound like loving to read is a bad thing. I absolutely LOVE reading! I honestly can't remember a day that I didn't do any recreational reading. When Twilight became overjoyed when she found the library in the Castle of the Two Sisters, I know exactly how she felt. I felt that way the first time I visited the main branch of the New York Public Library. I was so excited to see all of those books!

Well, I never said the effect was bad, but I was talking about what caused it. And also, you can't tell me the behavior Rainbow exhibited in Daring Don't and Trade Ya! was a healthy liking of reading.

The explanation is something much simpler than possible brain trauma!  I truly love that Rainbow is a fangirl. Never underestimate a fangirl's ability to go a little crackers.

Sadly, I'm living proof of this.

Going as far as to near-literally kiss your favorite author's ass, or selling your best friend as a slave to get a special edition book, is not mentally sound behavior no matter how you put it.

This episode was pretty funny with the exception of Rainbow Dash.

I really don't like her.

Maybe they should've done the Daring Do part as standalone. If anything I only liked the first 5 minutes of Rainbow Dash, because of the House M.D.-style drama. It would've probably been better if they only did the Daring Do part or the hospital part. Because who says hospital episodes can't be fun?

The funny thing about showing this episode to someone who is just becoming a brony is that not only will the viewer be going through a very similar experience to Rainbow Dash while watching the episode, but Rainbow Dash is going through a similar experience to Daring Do with her broken wing. It's like triple relatable!

I love this episode! Love the part were Ahuizotl faces Daring Do, then out of nowhere, "Hellooo, Rainbow Dash!". XD

And also love the chase scene at the end, with the crazy patient, barking like a dog! Lmao

I quite liked this episode.

The Daring Do sections gave room for a lot of fun and creative action sequences.

Plus there were some pretty funny moments from Rainbow Dash here.

I found something peculiar in this episode: While fleeing from the doctors in the hospital, Rainbow Dash stumbled into a bookshelf, mixing up her copy of Daring Do with other books, one of them interestingly enough is the Supernatural book seen in Bridle Gossip, which is the same book owned by Twilight Sparkle and Zecora.

Well for a simple answer... Its just reusing flash assets.

I liked this Episode, it was quite funny^^Even though im not sure, the main heroes are well presented, if they start to do illegal stuff, like breaking into a Hospital and then trying to steal something. Might be a little much.

You know, if all Rainbow Dash episodes were like this, she'd easily be my favourite character in the show, no contest. See, whereas garbage like "The Mysterious Mare-Do-Well" presents Rainbow's boasting and insistence on "coolness" as just being her own inflated ego, here it's all linked to insecurity. She puts on a face because she's worried about being judged, and given the "smart ponies like you" quote at the end, it's possible she's worried about being judged because she's insecure about her intelligence. Further, this is a great example of just how expressive the characters in this show can be, and Rainbow's boisterous personality lends itself well to all sorts of charming little touches.

And this is just one of the show's best morals, with a very wide range of real-world applicability. I'm not the first to compare it to men being embarrassed about enjoying women's or girls' entertainment (like My Little Pony, for instance), but it's there - good job fighting toxic masculinity, show! I admit that I get a bit impatient with Rainbow's attempts to retrieve the book at the end, but there's just so many solid gags even in that scene that I can get over the modest secondhand embarrassment. And besides, the embarrassment is the point, no? This is all really funny, and the Daring Do stories are genuinely exciting, too. One of my absolute favourites.

Favourite moment this time: the brief moment where Ahuizotl is introduced, and we very briefly cut back to Rainbow, who says "whoa! Who is this guy?" Magical.

Score:

Entertainment: 9/10

Characters: 10/10

Themes: 10/10

Story: 9/10

Overall: 95/100

I enjoyed this episode, but the end was a bit over the top for me. Rainbow Dash could have easily just said, “I left something in the room. I want to get it.” She wouldn’t even have to say what it was. Surely the hospital would let her retrieve her own stuff.

That's true, but Rainbow Dash is nothing if not overdramatic.

This episode is fine. I like all of the Daring Do stuff and Rainbow sneaking around is fun, but everything else is pretty dull. The message is incredibly on the nose, even for this show, and it's not presented in a very interesting way.

Score: 6/10

9\10 A really nice episode with character development for dash. The comedy was good and the plot was interesting(it was nice to see a different side of RD here), I want her to get into other books as well, not only the daring do books. The episode nailed how a person tries to hide their new hobby that they think people will judge them upon(not including the theft part).
